I've come to root for Miyano too, as Kosuda really does deserve someone who doesn't treat him like crap. I see zero chance of it happening, though - we've had 10 eps of YamaKusa development and that's not going out the window.

It's not Yamada's fault, really - I don't think she toys with him out of meanness. She's just utterly clueless about, well - everything, and self-involved to the point of ridiculousness. I love her, but Kosuda would be happier with Miyano.

I'll have to throw it in with the guys rooting for Miyano. Personality-wise she's the most ideal (and frankly, NORMAL) girl for vanilla Kosuda, but the Laws of Narrative causality are against her.

If it was some unimportant side character who hardly has any screen time, I could understand it, but for the *main character* not having a first name really is exceedingly strange

I really can't fathom the reasoning behind it.

If you want my speculation, it's because addressing someone by their first name in Japanese culture is a sign of closeness/intimacy, and Yamada's whole original idea is to have a whole bunch of shallow sexual relationships. So the fact that no one addresses her by her first name is a sort of symbol of this. And as you've come to understand in the show, everything she's tried to convince herself of (about her desire for sex, etc.) is a sort of front/lie, so she hasn't actually really come to terms with her "true self" either (though she's starting to). So a logical end point for the show's plot would be for her to finally reveal her first name to Kosuda (and probably, but not necessarily, to us the viewers) as a symbol of her finally seeking real, emotional intimacy with someone.

Well, it could be possible that both her last and first name is Yamada. So calling her either name works.

Of course it's all apart of the joke as to why we don't know her first name, though i hope we eventually find out what it is. It's quite the mystery, i must say.

Hmmm If he went with Miyano I couldn't help to shake the feeling of a school days repeat, I like the pairing of our B Cupped Slut and Kosuda more, shes changing emotionally a lot from her just wanting to be a super hoe and her emotions are freaking out cause of that and doesn't know how to handle that. But if they get to the part where its just romance I think they'd be a good pairing.

Well the other amusing part about all this is that not even Yamada's friends refer to her as her given name. Seeing as how close Takeshita is to her I'd say she would have at least mentioned it at one point
