BBC News (23 May 08) - A car dealership in the United States is offering a free handgun with every vehicle sold.

Max Motors in Butler, Missouri, says sales have quadrupled since the start of the offer. Customers can choose between a gun or a $250 (£125) gas card, but most so far have chosen the gun. Owner Mark Muller said: "We're just damn glad to live in a free country where you can have a gun if you want to."

He added that the promotion was inspired by recent comments from one of the Democratic nominees for the presidential election, saying: "We did it because of Barack Obama. He said all those people in the Midwest, you've got to have compassion for them because they're clinging to their guns and their Bibles. I found that quite offensive. We all go to church on Sunday and we all carry guns."

KINOKAWA, Japan (AFP) - In times of need, Japanese say they can even ask the cat for help. In this town in western Japan, people look to Tama, a nine-year-old cat working as master of an unmanned train station.

The tortoiseshell coloured creature, born and raised at Kishi Station on the provincial Kishigawa Line, wears a formal uniform cap of Wakayama Electric Railway and calmly watches passing passengers who greet her.

"Tama is the only stationmaster as we have to reduce personnel costs. You say you could ask for the cat's help, but she is actually bringing luck to us," Wakayama Electric spokeswoman Keiko Yamaki said. The station went unmanned in April 2006 as the line was losing money. But Tama stuck around. The company feeds her in lieu of salary.

Her appointment had an immediately positive effect, boosting the number of passengers using the line in January by 17 percent from a year earlier. For the year to March 2007, the number of passengers rose to 2.1 million, up 10 percent from the previous 12 months, according to Yamaki.

Happy with her successful job as stationmaster, the company promoted Tama to "super-stationmaster" in January this year, making her "the only female in a managerial position" in the company's 36-strong workforce.

"She now holds the fifth highest position in the company," Yamaki joked.

Bulgaria Sumo Wrester Kotooshu Wins Emperor's Cup

The Bulgarian sumo wrestler Kaloyan Mahlyanov Kotooshu entered the history of the Japanese sport by becoming the first European to win the Emperor's Cup at the Big Summer Tournament in Tokyo.

In the 14th, last stage of the tournament Kotooshu defeated Saturday sakiwake Ama, thus becoming unattainable at the top of the ranking with 13 victories and only one loss, which guaranteed him the title.

The Bulgarian giant used the okuritaoshi technique by bringing down his opponent form behind.

Several minutes after Mahlyanov won the tournament, he was greeted by the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, who also wished him many more victories and the winning of the highest rank in professional sumo - yokozuna.

In the 80s and 90s, Hawaiians were the champions. Later on Mongolians came to the top. Now a Bulgaria-born wrestler wins the tournament. Sumo is not a Japanese sports any more... I welcome the internationalisation.

And ofcourse if the child is really fit then they know it best themselves, there is no point in getting angry at a game who doesn't know the child's physique

At any rate, the BMI is a standard way of categorizing someone's ideal weight--Wii Fit has not invented the terminology or the system utilized.

Either way, the BMI is inaccurate in and of itself anyways, so the point is sort of moot (mine is like 17 or so, which means I'd be ill or something like that :/).
