It is a shame that magi isnt getting a better adaptation, as the manga has become one of my favourite ongoing series.

Its not just the pacing too, there is something else that's off putting about the anime, but I'm not sure exactly what it is.

It's funny to me. This is one of the better adaptations I've seen in a while especially if you look at some of the anime that other mangas have gotten and yet the fans shit on it so much. An embarrassment of riches.

Don't read the manga then, the differences will be too easy to spot.

I read the manga too and I think the anime is doing a pretty good job, specially in the last three episodes or so.

Same here, even though some minor things were omitted, I really don't understand why people are calling it a bad adaptation. I for one am very happy with it. I think the pace is normal too and I think it will be about 3-4 chapters per episode if the last ep is any indication. It is also one of the better adaptations I have seen in recent years... I really don't see what's all that wrong with it. If you don't like it, don't watch it

Anyways, can't wait for this episode, it will be a good one

Actaully I read the manga a while back and I enjoy the anime adaptation, thing is, I've actually dropped the manga, because of a certain cliche that I've gotten really tired of that pops up after the balbadd arc...from then on I just rolled my eyes and lost my interest pretty quickly. Because of that, I'm glad that the anime is skippign some parts and getting to the good arc fairly quickly, as I think that the story goes downhill FAST after that is over. Really, I don't plan on watching more after balbadd arc and this season is done.

I read and love the manga but I like the anime all the same. I don't see any glaring differences between the two and while I may have felt the pacing was kinda fast at parts it still hasn't hampered my enjoyment of it.

Anyway the pacing finally slowed down this week with ep8, so things ought to get better from here on.

I'm at T9, and I think the anime is a good adaptation. Not a perfect one, but a good one. I'm enjoying it. I don't remember another adaptation have been this good since FMA:B.

other than cold blooded Aladdin, harharl infigar that was used too early and sloppy attention to details from A-1...

this is quite decent adaptation, I mean compared to other manga adaptation this season like Code;Breaker

I loled so hard when Alibaba shat his pants at Morgiana.

It's a bit difficult to get emotionally involved in Alibaba's story when he's narrating a story that spans such a large time in a few minutes but otherwise it was a pretty good episode.

Alibaba... again a thief.
Just what happened in the meantime..
So he's using Amon to plunder around.
The hero of the deprived or just a continuance of his previous profession?
Guess we'll see soon enough.
Poor Aladdin... no wonder he was depressed, but that kids sees positive things everywhere.
Flashback to Alibaba's childhood was interesting to watch.
That Kassim was just bad news.
From nothing to everything to nothing to everything to nothing again.
That's just unbelievable, but that's Alibaba's life.

ep8. The emotions and the backstory worked for me. And Morgiana was wonderful.

Ali Baba and Kassim as children were played by the two current top seiyuu for young boy roles: Tamura Mutsumi and Sanpei Yuuko (both are women). I suspect Ishihara Kaori (Aladdin) may start to get more boy roles now, too.

The maturity of the subjects this touches on always surprises me. Prostitution, poverty, inflation, Kassim even got Alibaba drunk to get info out of him. It's getting harder an harder to not start the manga.

Lol Morgiana infiltrating and scaring Alibaba. So from the first par of Alibaba's story i see no reason why he should be helping Kassim. WOnder what the other part of the story is.

Ho, ho, Morgana carried Alibaba as a princess. I hope Morgana's tribe does not has any laws like "my husband must be stronger than me" because I suspect she is going to grow to be the strongest there is ^^;
