But seriously I can't wait for a new Macross series. Hey I have a completely hopeless dream, maybe we'll luck out on this one and actually see a western release? (useless optimism)
First, Harmony Gold would have to die a horrible death. You might get another "Robotech", though.

Well, Kawamori & co. became much smarter now.

The English subtitles for the new MF movie release are now being done in-house like their Gundam counterpart. Nothing Harmony can do anything about. If they keep that up, there is no need to go through Harmony Gold ever again.

Hopefully, they'll keep it up. I'll keep buying, if they do.
Frak Harmony Gold...

Having Japan and North American in the same Blu-ray region helps with that as they can put the English subtitles on the Japanese version and people can just order it from Japan. Space Battleship Yamato 2199 was like that, even though now there is also an American release under the name of Star Blazers 2199 (same subtitling just with the added Spanish subtitles as well as English).

Unfortunately this won't get me a subtitled copy of Macross 30.

I can understand why. Playing the game throughout, I realized they had lots and lots and lots and lots of music in there, copyrighted pieces. Its a logistical nightmare trying to license them for export purposes

Of course not. Harmony Gold can burn in hell and Kawamori & Co. need better business skills.

According to ANN:
Quote:
The project will scout a new singing voice to provide the vocals for a character in the anime with an audition, which can be applied to beginning on December 1. More information about the audition will be unveiled in December. The website features the quote, "The new singing diva who can sway the galaxy of 2067 is you!"

We can probably unlock some of it now that it's officially ongoing.

No. Auditions for the new heroine voice will be held in December. Are you even read the ANN article?

Dammit, I want the singer to be in a band instead of yet another diva >.<. Why can't we have another band in Macross? Fire Bomber is a phenomenon, don't they want to re-create it? But I guess they want to go with something that is popular right now, so I probably have to be prepared for a group of Idols in my future Macross .

It has nothing to do with what's popular now. They're just following the same old formula. If anything, the problem with Macross is lack of innovation. It's almost always the same. One male pilot as MC, one or two idols as love interest. It's gotten old. They should change things around imo. Make the pilot MC a girl, and the idol a guy, for example. We don't even need a love triangle. The best part of Macross is the mecha fights and the music after all. The love triangle bs is usually the annoying part.

I remember reading speculation about a spin-off series with Klan as the MC. It's too bad that wasn't a thing. Might have saved long term interest in the franchise for me personally.
