Lawl. That is all.
And on another note, Episode 2 Dub Review: Nozomi feels wierd hearing her. And Rin, although, she now sounds like a wild low-pitched cat. Still, as usual, all the others' voices are winning the show for me. Also, Kotori continues to be bla-.......dat "onegai" scene, but how... Final Verdict: 8 / 10 is still better than most dubs.

Yep. Especially here in the Philippines, tagalog dubbing is a thing. Hell, Hero TV here is a local cable channel that only airs tagalog dubbed anime. Dub quality usually spans the gamut from passable to ear torture

Episode 3 Tagalog (Filipino) Dub Review:
"Muse...Music....Start!" Kotori becoming less and less bland each episode.... eeeeeeeh. Maki supposedly has a voice not fitting the JP VA, but, actually, I think I've accustomed to it now. "Mga gulay" (vegetables) so funny in any language. XDD Umi's the MVP of the day. I'm actually liking her more and more. Honoka could have used a little more spiff when she says, "'di ba? 'di ba?!" (Isn't it? Isn't it?) But eh..... with dubbing in other countries being just not as qualified as Japan's quality ones, who would complain. Rin's still like a wild cat. Boyish...............ehhh...it fits her character. Wait, wait, is it just me or did Hanayo skip the "Someone save me." line...? XDD "Gawin natin ang myu's ang the best concert!" ...in the end, I still felt the sadness when I see that dramatic pause. Honoka's VA really shone in this moment, very convincing, like the JP counterpart. Hanayo needed a bit more work. However, specifically voice-wise, Honoka needed a bit intonation.... oh well. In the end, the JP version of Start;Dash was still a treat to behold. "Nagsisimula sa bababa, aangat sa lupa." (Rude Translation "Starting from the bottom, lifting from the ground.") -Nozomi Verdict: 8.4 - 9.0 / 10 Sturgeon's Law applies.

Yep.
The Philippines accept these kind of stuff more easily than US guys simply because it's been embedded since...when, 2000? Earlier? It led to the easy synchronization and oddly early licensing too. (I remember when a mainstream TV channel got licensing rights to Shakugan no Shana S2 around 6 months after airing. That's pretty amazing.) Most tagalog dubs do suffer from a lack of good dubbers though. Why blame them? It would have been nice if there would be better voices for the role, but that might get costs more than the profit. Spoiler for Word of Caution: Dub:

reading/hearing the comments about love live dub makes me feel that I want to reconnect my cable line ;_; agaiin ;_; it feels the same when index was dubbed but I feel that its a waste to pay for the cable if I'm already paying for my net and phone. And since I download the subs, watching and paying for the dub felt a waste of money ;_;

Episode 4 Tagalog (Filipino) Dub Review:
"He... gave me... some advice." Okay, probably the most awkward voiced episode yet. Hanayo doesn't sound as lively as she would have been and Rin still feels wierd, but I guess the "boyish" sounding voice might fit more than the meow-ish one. Eh.... but Japanese voice actresses are like, pros, compared to Filipino dubbers... Oh well! "Wow.... ang cute..." Kotori forever bland. But still, realistic. A little bit too realistic. If you know what I mean. Hanayo still feels wierd, probably because she's one of the defining voices of myu's, IMHO. Her frail voice kinda left an impression on me. Oh well, it's STILL realistic (as I talk that way sometimes. ._. ) Oh Rin, why. ._. "Track team..." I thought I heard drug team. Keeping the Kayo-chin is still a thumbs up in my book though. "Hay naku! ... tingnan mo, maikli ang buhok ko!" Yeah, your voice fits too. And also, the Principal's voice doesn't sound much like the usual JP voice. Ehhh... it really doesn't matter that much, since it still fits. Maki's mother is pitch perfect though for her rule. Lol, Maki's voice being so .... arrogant-sounding, yet so dere... it fits so much; I think I'm convinced now that Maki's voice actor is a thumbs up for me. HAHAHAHHA Umi! CLASSIC! And on another note, Homu-BUN, by Honoka! This is probably the part where I think most of the voices shine quite well... probably because it's also quite a scene to see.... The.......next speech part .... didn't have impact. Wow. Where's the intonation needed? Where's the increased voice? Where's the "Somebody save me!" line? Oh there it is. "Tulugan niyo 'ko!" Eh, I don't have to complain (yet). Oh well, probably one of the (needed) rough spots in the dub. In the end, this is one of the not-so-good episodes dub, partly due to Rin and Hanayo's voices. I think it'll still have potential to improve. If anything, the final recruiting scene is proof of that. And so........................ Verdict: 7.4 - 8.0 / 10 Rin is plot. Maki suddenly wins. And the ED realizing how VASTLY DIFFERENT their voices are.

Episode 5 Tagalog (Filipino) Dub Review:
Nico episode. Nico one of the new voices SURPRISINGLY fitting with her personality. (It doesn't fit as much into the loli-ish aspect though.) Kotori is better than last episode. Ehhhhhhhhhh.... "Kayong mga girls.... maghiwa-hiwalay na kayo!" (You girls, break up!) Wierd way to translate that line from Nico. Ahahahaha, I have determined by Honoka's voice that she doesn't have a way into the high pitch notes, which is reason sometimes her voice just sounds quite off. "'sus, 'kunwari ka pa." (Seriously, what does this translate to? I forgot HOW to translate this, even though I know the meaning.) "Gusto kong sumayaw!" (I wanna dance!) Rin wins there. Like seriously. It fffing fits. "Hmph!" - Nico. "Wow, ang laking poopoo!" -random child Okay, this actor wins. Also, Nico wins. I hate Nico's somewhat pretentious personality. But her voice. Her high-pitchiness. WHY ISN'T HER IN HONOKA!? And so..... and btw, Nico's blissful expression is classic. "The Legend of Legendary Idols!" -Hanayo Not enough high-pitchiness. XDDDDD "MMM!" -Hanayo What. "Image?" -Kotori Double what. "Nico Nico Smile! A Nico Smile straight to your heart! Tawagin n'yo kong Nico Smile!" Uhhhhhh ... as awkward as the JP is ever been. Nozomi continues to be too ... low-pitched. "Ms. President", wut. I feel that I find this scene was much better said in the Filipino dub than the Japanese dub........... And so... Verdict: 9.0 / 10 Nico wins the entire episode by a landslide.

Episode 6 Tagalog (Filipino) Sub Review: So yeah, I kinda missed the premiere slot (due to people) so I watched the 3 PM replay. Honoka's reactions are always priceless. "Oh, ngiti naman sa camera!" -Rin (Oh, smile at the camera for once!) I think I've gotten used to Rin and Nozomi's voice. However, Umi's voice is ALWAYS priceless. "School Idol... This is it!" -Honoka I find it funny how this is a Filipino dub with 50% English words. Please note that this review is being done while the dub is going on, so excuse my unsurprisingly "out of nowhere" comments. "Kahit na isa siyang School Idol, studyante pa rin siya..." -Nozomi Nozomi's narrative is classic. Kotori continues to be cute. Very much so. Even as she tried to hide dem Minalinsky pic, Kotori's voice is becoming more and more fitting. (or that the JP dub has too much high-pitching. Nico's voice is still cringing in my ears. So fitting. Damn it all. Some translations are quite cute though. Kayo-chin, woot. I think I said this before though. "Huwag mo nga ako kunan, pwede?!" -Maki (Don't film me!) "Sino dapat kailangan maging leader?" -Nico (Who is going to be the leader?) Wait, LEADER? Oh nevermind, there's the Center. I can feel all the irony of Nico as she say all the things that describe Honoka. The videoke effect is a nice add too, unlike the JP dub, lol. Again, Nico's voice continues to win over my heart on the dub. And all the paradox embedded in it. And on some reflection, I feel that this episode was inherently pointless, especially in its 15 minutes of proving Honoka to be a leader. But all the fun in doing so? That's priceless. Verdict: 8.6 / 10 Korekara no Someday is love. "Kailangan ko ng tulong! Tulong!" -Hanayo (I need your help! Help!) Makes more sense than "dare ga tasukete!" :P EDIT: Missed Episode 7 so here's Episode 8. Episode 8 Tagalog (Filipino) Dub Review: Actually there's quite a number of wierd ways the conversation on Eri and the President could be improved but... second thing, the BGM in the JP in the School Council isn't helping either... Wow. "Perfect timing talaga!" -one of the Student Council members "Wala pa rin sa timing ang mga galaw n'yo." -Umi "Kulang tayo sa impact." -Umi But don't worry, Umi's dubber, yours has little impact too. Lol, oddly enough this episode has me being alienated yet again on the voices, proabably because of how serious the episode is. "HAAAAA! Tumaba nanaman ako!" - Yukiho Dude, Eri's sister, Arisa, is winning over this episode. Her frail voice....should have been Hanayo's honestly. Eri's voice....is better than I thought though. There are some parts where she should have a little more spiff, but some parts where the partially calm voice is fitting. I guess it's just me. Aaaand on another note, wow, Rin x Eri's moments. Classic. Eri's dramatic scenes. Good, but could be better. But good enough. Lastly, Honoka's speech...needed work. Ehh.......... Verdict: 6.5 / 10 The song was a nice finisher though.
