I probably missed it reading through the last page, but when does this start? Next week? I'm actually hoping they don't follow the manga much. I'm hoping for somewhat of a Claymore route.
And I can't imagine this being 26 episodes. Would be nice, but I doubt it.

Like others, I just don't feel there's enough content in the manga at the moment to justify following it, unless they plan to do multiple seasons, which wouldn't be ideal for a monthly series. I think it would benefit more from just doing it's own thing for the most part, set up the world by following the first volume or two then go from there. If they follow the manga, it will just end up leaving off on a massive cliff hanger as there's really no lull in the manga at the moment. I mean, I guess they could do it with 13 episodes, then another 13 in the fall, then by the time a 3rd season comes around there would be more content from the manga to go on.

so it is better that way then, compared to just go claymore route and God knows when or will we receive a reboot like FMA
although yes, I could agree that I couldn't find any good point in manga to stop without leaving a massive cliffhanger for the next season (if any)

Keep in mind that the first volume of the blu-ray is 6,300yen - which is below the price of an average Pony Canyon volume release. Chuu2 is a 1-cour series with 2 episodes per volume from Pony Canyon, and it goes for 6,930yen per volume. Tamako Market is 7,140yen per volume, also a 1-cour show from Pony Canyon.
Shingeki Vol1 is going for less, and it includes a 65-page "Volume 0" manga bonus by the original manga artist. This definitely indicates that Vol1 has a lower episode count and the subsequent volumes will cost more. |

SnK as a property is popular enough to get a reboot down the line once it finishes up anyway... SnK unlike AnE and FMA is extremely popular prior to the anime, whereas those 2 used the anime as a catalyst for popularity. |

Shingeki no Kyojin might be 2013 best anime, if done right. The giants themselves serve as a great advisement to new viewers. My favorite show for 2013 atm is Shin Sekai Yori, but it could be dethrone seeing how I love the manga.
Can anyone inform me the following info? 1) Which time slot is this series replacing for (anime)? 2) Any well known VA in this show?

DAT hips, bear my child please :3 Marina Inoue, Yuki Kaji(?), Romi Park, Daisuke Ono, Kamiya Hiroshi and Shimomono Hiro should be the names you've come across in several animes already.
