I don't know what BRS is- but Scooby-Doo 2, the live action movie opening scene with the camera flying through buildings? Felt like I was going to throw up.

Anyways, The light novels are being translated at a fairly rapid pace thanks to our awesome translator Teh_Ping, the most awesome guy in the world. If you check at every week, you'll generally have a whole chapter translated, ready for reading.

But if you were to compare it...

Hearing this, Stiyl doesn't blame Agnese. These people were able to sense that the Amakusa style is mixed with some aspects of Buddhism and Shintoism after fighting them for just two days, which shows that their analytical abilities are rather strong.

Stiyl turns to look at Index, wanting to seek her advice.

Now is the right time for Index, who has knowledge exceeding ten thousand times that of a normal person, to fulfill her role. The pure-white nun remains calm and composed as she says,

And then if you compare it to episode 2 in the anime- there is a lot being left out.

Animators can't do everything I suppose. Look at Harry Potter, they left out heaps of interesting things to shorten its length.

BRS stands for Black Rock Shooter, the OVA that gave Studio Ordet something to seriously brag about. Seriously.

*laughs* Don't worry- if there is anything that the Index anime does, it stays pretty true to the book, and cuts out exposition that isn't exactly needed- and it adds on a different level of meaning for different things.

But that's the anime, not the light novel. I wish you happy reading Volume 7 is where Orsola arc starts off, and if you don't mind knowing what's going to happen, you can start there.

ANd seriously, Touma is the only protagonist who never kills his opponent, but even saves them. Accelerator, Hamazura and Aqua all kill their opponents. He's actually the most awesome (or idiotic) character in the whole series that no one could match. :P

We don't know enough yet about Aleister's omnipresence power to say for sure whether he could actually just appear in front of Hamazura and kill him.

More importantly, Hamazura is not yet a "threat" to the plan; merely an unknown. He's like a fly, really. You'll try to swat one if it comes near, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll go to the trouble of pursuing it if it goes away.

On the morning of the 10th of October

Even though not long ago, the El Nino effect caused the sweltering heat of the summer to be delayed in its passing, a cold fog has descended upon London’s Japanese Street (TL note: the literal translation >.>)
In the morning rush hour, regardless of where you look, there is a sea of people. As for why there is not one tourist there, even if you mention it, no-one would turn their head and respond. For everyone knows the reason.
The teenage girl from the Amakusa sect, Itsuwa, is also in that Japanese Street which was empty of tourists.
Like the Chinese and Indian streets, the main attraction of the Japanese Street would be ‘food’. To be able to eat familiar food and speak a familiar language even in a foreign country, that is why people “with the same language” naturally gather together, creating all sorts of cuisine. In reality, faced with the enormous flow of people through Japanese Street, sushi restaurants, hotpot restaurants and other shops of all kinds have popped up alongside the streets.
The first floor of the apartment complex Itsuwa resides in, has too become a bento shop. Not just the Japanese living in London, numerous busy British commuters who have adopted the “Convenient is luxury” creed also buy lunches here. The strong point of the Japanese is “punctuality”, able to carry out shop business with the speed of a pit stop team in a Formula One race, they have earned the respect of the community.
In the past, Itsuwa too has been called to help out in the shop, but now she is not helping out. Her uniform too is different from that of the shop. The impression the Itsuwa in London gives out is charming with a hint of maturity. On top of Itsuwa’s beige sports shirt is a jacket like a short overcoat. She is wearing tea-coloured, form-fitting trousers. If you inspect her clothing more carefully, because she is from “Necessarius”, even though Itsuwa is underage, she would be able to go into a bar without needing to be interrogated by police. Right now, in the depths of the shop, Itsuwa is in the restroom for the shop workers, staring at the Japanese displayed on her laptop screen.


[“The key to success in a long-distance relationship is to remain in the memory of your partner! Those who are as shallow as a shadow will break off the relationship!? Those who succeed and those who fail will be separated!!”]


Itsuwa scrolled down with a quivering finger, the link said

or something along those lines. In that moment, in Itsuwa’s mind resurfaced the memories from a few days ago.
To protect Kamijou Touma, who was viciously pursued by Acqua of the Back, Itsuwa had stayed close to Touma. After all her efforts, it had seemed to Itsuwa that the roughly halfway around the world distance between Britain and Japan had shortened a bit, as well as the distance between her and Touma…but who would have predicted that the reinstated female Pontiff of the Amakusa Catholics, Kanzaki Kaori would have arrived out of nowhere! Not only did she cause a ruckus, but in the end the Pope unleashed her “One-hit KO Secret Technique”…


“E-Ero Fallen Angel Costume…!! To prepare such a horrifying secret weapon, as expected of someone as formidable as the Pope! To wear such a thing, wouldn’t all the memories of that battle against Acqua of the Back be gathered at one point…?”


The frustrated Itsuwa gripped her head with both hands. Looking at herself, who only is charming with a hint of maturity…. to put it in other words, “a costume with no flaws in the extreme” (TL note: isn’t that supposed to be good? o.O) Itsuwa let out a disappointed sigh.
“This is the unbridgeable divide between commoners and genius, huh. Just like how a normal magician can never aspire to become a saint. That Saiji, calling me the “Hidden giant breasts” was just joking, compared to Kanzaki of the “normal giant breasts”, I truly have no chance”
It was painfully obvious to Itsuwa that compared with the sensual curves of the breasts and butt of that long-haired ponytail wearing priestess, she was far out of her league. In that moment Itsuwa almost gave up on the spot. Tentatively, to comfort her troubled heart, it is not as if there is already a special relationship between herself and Kamijou, at that level, everything would have been fine already. As they say, a teenage girl in love is blind in all aspects.

“Hmph, not only does it accentuate her perfect bust, but to use the Ero Fallen Angel costume as a lethal final blow. A bold strategy that unites soul, technique and body…the Pontiff is truly a formidable person. With just one move, I have been totally defeated. There is no chance for me to turn the game around now…”


With a sigh of despair, Itsuwa’s eyes flicker towards the suspicious news webpages. And then her eyes fell upon it. In the “Weekly Mini News 10” section, separate from the usual news, she saw “that”


“The name of the legendary new product: Great Elemental Fairy! Guaranteed to have an attack power only equaled by slicing apart the brains of a working class man in a Z pattern! Determine any delicate requests at this autumn sale!” (TL: this last sentence makes no sense oO)


In Itsuwa’s mind, time has frozen. Has she not been chasing after that saint? No, as of now, is this not the chance to get ahead of the saint? Faced by this once in a thousand years opportunity, Itsuwa fell silent as she thought about it…


“WAA!! Thi-this sort of attire, how could I ever think of wearing it!!!!”


Furiously, Itsuwa messed up her hair with her hands. She had chosen the rational decision. However, suddenly hating herself, she collapsed on her desk. What if, to hesitate or to bravely go forward, that was the difference between the common person and the extraordinary person? What if her hesitation is the proof of her inferiority? Faced with those thoughts, Itsuwa couldn’t help herself and started to sob.
…voices travelled from the ceiling of the restroom


“No~!! Itsuwa, we’ve already given you a push, waa~! No!!”


“Why don’t we just buy the costume first and put it in a box in front of Itsuwa’s room?”


“Substitute Supreme Ponti… no, wait, Saiji-san! You should have already gotten an idea of Itsuwa’s measurements through the groping battle right? (TL: am I missing something here?)”


“Of course! To witness the battle between the Ero Fallen Angel priestess and the Great Elemental Spirit priestess, we need to shed some blood and sweat too!”


“Okay guys, I think we should get back to work…”


…and other related whispers. Surprisingly, Itsuwa heard none of it.

I've got some new info on one of the Railgun Special feature Light Novels: this one is from the 5th Railgun manga. Set some time after the end of the Level Upper arc. Not written by Kamachi Kazuma, but it is supervised by him.

Summary:

First off, Kihara Nayuta (AKA Loli Kihara) VS Mikoto. Nayuta is like Telestina, asking to be experimented on from a early age. She’s now a cyborg with over 70% of her body made of Artificial parts after one experiment has gone wrong, and is only alive due to Heaven Canceller’s intervention. Due to her cyborg parts she has super strength and super speed compared to a normal human.
Kihara Gensei is her grandfather, and Kihara Amata is her uncle.
Age unknown, but is a Primary School student. She knows Banri from ‘Railgun’ series and used to be friends with them, before the Child Errors got sent into a coma. This Story is set before the kids from the ‘crystallized esper essence’ case woke up. Nayuta is the result of the series of experiments directly after the ones that sent Banri and co. into a coma.

Nayuta’s ability is being able to read the flow of AIM fields and manipulate the ability of any esper who has gone berserk.
It could be said that she’s a ‘kouhai’ of Takitsubo Rikou, as she herself says she’s not yet on her level. Nayuta also knows the full potential of Takitsubo, and knows there’s a difference between them when she said though she can force people to go berserk with their ability she’s not as proficient as Takitsubo. Though Nayuta is superior to Takitsubo in the sense she doesn’t need the ‘crystallized esper essence’ for her ability to work. Mikoto also almost lost control when they fought.
Nayuta is capable of predicting where Mikoto’s lightning will hit (See Mahou Sensei Negima, Negi VS Rakan and how Rakan defeated Negi’s Raisen Taisou 1), and can react in the 0.5 second gap to counter attack. Though Nayuta can’t see the paths for the Iron sand blades Mikoto brought out, and almost lost. Due to her mechanical parts acting as a lightning rod Nayuta wasn’t as hurt as she should be, but is still paralysed. Mikoto then confined Nayuta in a cage made from lightning and iron sand. Nayuta charged towards Mikoto and in the result burning off the skin on her hand, showing Mikoto that she’s a cyborg. Though Nayuta can make people’s ability go berserk she can’t “Stop” the ability, that’s how she’s stuck in the cage.
In theory, Nayuta can even defeat Accelerator (before he gained black wings and lost half his calculating abilities) if she trained enough according to Kihara Amata.

Nayuta caught Mikoto red-handed kicking that vending machine in the 7th district, and used this chance to fight Mikoto as she’s part of Judgment. Nayuta picked a fight with Mikoto partly due to a grudge that Mikoto took down Harumi, and partly because she wanted to fight a real Level 5 to test her skills that she acquired from Kihara Gensei. Mikoto replied she understands at least part of Nayuta’s motives, as she herself goes after people older than her, ie ‘that idiot’ (Touma) at times as well. Also, this isn’t the 1st time Mikoto had to deal with espers younger than her challenging her.

Kuroko on the other hand saw the No.7 (Sogiita Gunha) duelling another guy and thought it was a case of bullying. Kuroko tried to apprehend Gunha but failed, and then they saw Mikoto’s lightning from that park and they all went to investigate.
Gunha is capable of pseudo teleport, as shown when he fought Kuroko. Also, the ‘wavelengths’ around him is not AIM of any kind, and any AIM that comes near him gets distorted. He can also move at the speed of sound. He’s one of the very few ‘Black Box’ of Academy City in that almost nothing is known about his ability.

NOTE: The ones responsible for developing Gunha’s ability is none other than the ‘Kihara Research Institute’ o_O

=IMPORTANT(?)= Mikoto is known to many people in the 7th district as “That crazy bitch from Tokiwadai” since she keeps frying everyone’s electric equipment when she starts fighting. As soon as they saw the lightning everybody started to turn off their equipment and gone into ‘anti-disaster’ mode xD

Nayuta then tried to make Mikoto and Gunha fight each other, by making Mikoto shoot bolts of lightning at Gunha. Gunha was unharmed, and then accidently hit Mikoto’s berserk buttons (ie being stronger than her and calling her a child) by calling Mikoto’s attack something he doesn’t even need to try and block “if it’s only something at that level”.
Mikoto then decided to use Gunha as a practice run as he’s practically unharmed by her attacks for when she has to go after Touma. She even asked if Gunha knows ‘That idiot’ due to them both capable of being unharmed by her attacks. Gunha has no idea who Mikoto is on about.

And it ends up being a Duel between the No.3 and No.7 Level 5s, with Gunha’s loss if he attacks back or is knocked unconscious. These conditions lead to Mikoto getting even more furious as she thinks this means he doesn’t have to fight back against her.
Mikoto shot a strong lightning bolt at him (fatal to any normal human being), and he was only numbed slightly. She then tried to use her Railgun on him (at 30% output) and Gunha is unharmed – because he caught the coin Mikoto fired past the speed of sound with his TEETH o_O
Then he remarked it’s illegal to take game tokens out of those places, which lead to others saying he’s a idiot for caring about that at a time like this. Mikoto came to the conclusion Gunha’s not like Touma since he doesn’t negate the attacks.
Mikoto then brought out two giant black swords (or more like chainsaw swords) made of iron sand and did a nitouryuu (two swords style) stance with them.
For the residents of 7th district, getting caught up in disasters like this are something they all got used to by now as Mikoto’s rampage continued.

Nayuta’s awed by the display of AIM field around Mikoto and Gunha, and these two are just playing around. To her who can see AIM fields it’s like the typhoon which sprouts up at apocalypse.
She thought if Gunha didn’t step in she might not have survived against Mikoto’s powers as her arms are already partially fried. She felt ashamed, but more anger at herself for not being as powerful as she wanted to be. She promised Banri and others to become a Level 5 and join Judgment as that was all their dreams, to show when they band together even those discarded by others can be powerful when they try.
Nayuta then tried to jump into that maelstrom of AIM, just so she can get closer to the powers she has been seeking.

After trying many other things such as wide area electric storm attack or turning nearby steel cans into plasma, Mikoto then brought out one of her most powerful weapons: calling clouds into the area and bring down a powerful lightning strike from the heavens (ie the one that shot down onto Touma that other time). Gunha brought his defences up to the max and Nayuta’s senses overloaded from the stimulus. All the trees in the park are flattened by Mikoto’s blast.
Earlier, Gunha said he brought up a part of the Earth’s electromagnetic field using telekinesis to act as a shield against Mikoto’s lightning (he calls it ‘Aurora Guard’), to which Gunha’s Friend that Kuroko dragged along with her flat out states it’s physically impossible. It’s unknown how he really redirected lightning, but it’s not perfect – he still sustained light burns from Mikoto’s attacks.

Later, Kihara Gensei commented Nayuta’s not quite qualified of being a ‘Kihara’ yet – any Kihara would disregard all limits and destroy whatever experiment they are put into. Nayuta’s acting just like a lab rat who presses levers when given the right stimulus, and no matter how exceptional she is as a subject, to Gensei it just shows her uselessness. Still, Gensei and Amata are proud of her achievements and the information she has provided as a subject, though they would never say that in front of her.

As Mikoto and Gunha are huffing and puffing someone else saw their disturbance and came to investigate – the Tokiwadai Dorm Manager. She told Mikoto Tokiwadai’s abuse of that vending machine is starting to become a problem, before taking down Mikoto easily with a Neck Snap. Nayuta was shocked that someone without abilities (below even a level 0 esper) can take down a Level 5 so easily, and then she fainted from exhaustion.

Nayuta was taken to a hospital by the Dorm manager, and it turns out the Dorm manager knows who Nayuta is and how she is related to the Kiharas due to the daycare centre she helps out in are sponsored by the Kiharas. With her resources the Dorm manager found out about how Banri and others are still in a coma, and that Nayuta isn't a bad person.
Nayuta asked if the Dorm Manager is one of the Hound Dogs, and she replies she doesn’t know any group with that name.
The Dorm manager warned Nayuta that the only time when she can treat Nayuta kindly is when she’s still a primary school student. If she comes into Tokiwadai Middle School with that behaviour she’ll “treat her just like any Tokiwadai student”, which lead to Nayuta getting a fright and almost seeing a demon behind the Dorm Manager’s smile – and she can’t tell whether it’s real or not even though she can see AIM fields.

Nayuta sustained damage to 47% of her body and can’t move for 10 days afterwards while strengthening and fixing takes place. The researchers has gotten valuable info from the sensors implanted in Nayuta and are even happy that Nayuta has gotten damaged to this extent, otherwise they could not have gotten this information otherwise.
Telestina seems to be Nayuta’s older sister (UNCONFIRMED), but Nayuta doesn’t know Telestina’s plans with Banri and the others. During the ten days that Nayuta is out of the way Telestina carried out her experiment on Banri, and eventually was brought down by Mikoto and co.
Also mentioned, Kihara Amata has a son who is also involved in the Dark Side of Academy City, but details was cut off before anything vital was mentioned.

Mikoto is kinda sad she never got to hear Gunha’s name, and this is only because she now can’t go hunt him down and demand a rematch. Kuroko is jealous of the fact Mikoto can use her ability to give herself a electric massage to slowly recover from the Dorm Manager’s Neck Snap.

Gunha was pushed back by the Dorm Manager’s aura and agreed to stop the battle (Mentioned here the Dorm Manager seems to have Acqua-like techniques when it comes to moving around, she can slide across the ground like ice skating). Later he went to that vending machine Mikoto kicked and bought a drink, and was surprised the machine still works well after everything that has happened around them.
Neither Mikoto nor Gunha was in trouble as the researchers spying on has gotten valuable data from their clashes, and decides to just fix everything up and wipe the trouble from the records.
When the Anti-Skill first known about Mikoto and Gunha fighting, after panicking the first person they sent for is Yomikawa (ie that teacher from Touma's school) - but it turns out the higher-ups said everything is under control and cancelled Anti-Skill's intervention.

Epilogue: Mikoto, Hamazura and others around Academy City are listening to a pirated radio channel that’s talking about the strongest non-esper in Academy city, going through Komaba and Kurozuma before mentioning a woman even more powerful than them. Before they can reveal her identity the channel mysteriously gets cut off. (IMO, the Dorm manager most likely raided the place to preserve her secret…)
Kuroko tried to find info on Nayuta, but doesn’t have the clearance. Mikoto then went to bed, and as Kuroko tried to crawl in with her like it’s only natural Mikoto gave her a German Suplex for punishment.
Later, that radio channel came back on air as if nothing has happened.


My Comments:

Mikoto < Gunha <<Tokiwadai Dorm Manager.

Sogiita Gunha = Jack Rakan of ToaruVerse, as he bears the pain from attacks through pure strength of will. Except he’s not as powerful/h4x as Rakan.

Thank you for this. Awesome read. I really hope that these side stories get animated as OVAs in the future.

Not just the Japanese living in London, numerous busy British commuters who have adopted the “Convenient is luxury” creed also buy lunches here. The strong point of the Japanese is “punctuality”, able to carry out shop business with the speed of a pit stop team in a Formula One race, they have earned the respect of the community.

In the past, Itsuwa too has been called to help out in the shop, but now she is not helping out. Her uniform too is different from that of the shop. The impression the Itsuwa in London gives out is charming with a hint of maturity. On top of Itsuwa’s beige sports shirt is a jacket like a short overcoat. She is wearing tea-coloured, form-fitting trousers. If you inspect her clothing more carefully, because she is from “Necessarius”, even though Itsuwa is underage, she would be able to go into a bar without needing to be interrogated by police. Right now, in the depths of the shop, Itsuwa is in the restroom for the shop workers, staring at the Japanese displayed on her laptop screen.

Itsuwa scrolled down with a quivering finger, the link said

or something along those lines. In that moment, in Itsuwa’s mind resurfaced the memories from a few days ago.

To protect Kamijou Touma, who was viciously pursued by Acqua of the Back, Itsuwa had stayed close to Touma. After all her efforts, it had seemed to Itsuwa that the roughly halfway around the world distance between Britain and Japan had shortened a bit, as well as the distance between her and Touma…but who would have predicted that the reinstated female Pontiff of the Amakusa Catholics, Kanzaki Kaori would have arrived out of nowhere! Not only did she cause a ruckus, but in the end the Pope unleashed her “One-hit KO Secret Technique”…


“E-Ero Fallen Angel Costume…!! To prepare such a horrifying secret weapon, as expected of someone as formidable as the Pope! To wear such a thing, wouldn’t all the memories of that battle against Acqua of the Back be gathered at one point…?”


The frustrated Itsuwa gripped her head with both hands. Looking at herself, who only is charming with a hint of maturity…. to put it in other words, “a costume with no flaws in the extreme” (TL note: isn’t that supposed to be good? o.O) Itsuwa let out a disappointed sigh.
“This is the unbridgeable divide between commoners and genius, huh. Just like how a normal magician can never aspire to become a saint. That Saiji, calling me the “Hidden giant breasts” was just joking, compared to Kanzaki of the “normal giant breasts”, I truly have no chance”

It was painfully obvious to Itsuwa that compared with the sensual curves of the breasts and butt of that long-haired ponytail wearing priestess, she was far out of her league. In that moment Itsuwa almost gave up on the spot. Tentatively, to comfort her troubled heart, it is not as if there is already a special relationship between herself and Kamijou, at that level, everything would have been fine already. As they say, a teenage girl in love is blind in all aspects.

“Hmph, not only does it accentuate her perfect bust, but to use the Ero Fallen Angel costume as a lethal final blow. A bold strategy that unites soul, technique and body…the Pontiff is truly a formidable person. With just one move, I have been totally defeated. There is no chance for me to turn the game around now…”


With a sigh of despair, Itsuwa’s eyes flicker towards the suspicious news webpages. And then her eyes fell upon it. In the “Weekly Mini News 10” section, separate from the usual news, she saw “that”


“The name of the legendary new product: Great Elemental Fairy! Guaranteed to have an attack power only equaled by slicing apart the brains of a working class man in a Z pattern! Determine any delicate requests at this autumn sale!” (TL: this last sentence makes no sense oO)


In Itsuwa’s mind, time has frozen. Has she not been chasing after that saint? No, as of now, is this not the chance to get ahead of the saint? Faced by this once in a thousand years opportunity, Itsuwa fell silent as she thought about it…


“WAA!! Thi-this sort of attire, how could I ever think of wearing it!!!!”


Furiously, Itsuwa messed up her hair with her hands. She had chosen the rational decision. However, suddenly hating herself, she collapsed on her desk. What if, to hesitate or to bravely go forward, that was the difference between the common person and the extraordinary person? What if her hesitation is the proof of her inferiority? Faced with those thoughts, Itsuwa couldn’t help herself and started to sob.

“No~!! Itsuwa, we’ve already given you a push, waa~! No!!”


“Why don’t we just buy the costume first and put it in a box in front of Itsuwa’s room?”


“Substitute Supreme Ponti… no, wait, Saiji-san! You should have already gotten an idea of Itsuwa’s measurements through the groping battle right? (TL: am I missing something here?)”


“Of course! To witness the battle between the Ero Fallen Angel priestess and the Great Elemental Spirit priestess, we need to shed some blood and sweat too!”

You're forgetting that both Touma and Mikoto have to travel roughly the same route to school and back, as they are both in the 7th district. So they are bound to run into each other more often

Maybe later, Gunha was mentioned in the afterword from Vol.22.

And every character introduced in the SS(1 and 2) eventually appeared in the novels.

Examples:
- Stephanie Georgeouspalace from SS2 ----> Vol. 19, hunting down Saiai.
- Ollerus and Silvya from SS2 ----> Vol. 22, picking up a half dead Fiamma.
- Bardway from Stiyl's SS ---- > Vol. 22 helping during the disaster caused by Fiamma.
- And the best example, Hamazura Shiage from SS1----> Vol. 15, enough said.

So, I think that Gunha will have some spotlight for the nexts volumes and maybe others characters.

Summary:

First off, Kihara Nayuta (AKA Loli Kihara) VS Mikoto. Nayuta is like Telestina, asking to be experimented on from a early age. She’s now a cyborg with over 70% of her body made of Artificial parts after one experiment has gone wrong, and is only alive due to Heaven Canceller’s intervention. Due to her cyborg parts she has super strength and super speed compared to a normal human.
Kihara Gensei is her grandfather, and Kihara Amata is her uncle.
Age unknown, but is a Primary School student. She knows Banri from ‘Railgun’ series and used to be friends with them, before the Child Errors got sent into a coma. This Story is set before the kids from the ‘crystallized esper essence’ case woke up. Nayuta is the result of the series of experiments directly after the ones that sent Banri and co. into a coma.

Nayuta’s ability is being able to read the flow of AIM fields and manipulate the ability of any esper who has gone berserk.
It could be said that she’s a ‘kouhai’ of Takitsubo Rikou, as she herself says she’s not yet on her level. Nayuta also knows the full potential of Takitsubo, and knows there’s a difference between them when she said though she can force people to go berserk with their ability she’s not as proficient as Takitsubo. Though Nayuta is superior to Takitsubo in the sense she doesn’t need the ‘crystallized esper essence’ for her ability to work. Mikoto also almost lost control when they fought.
Nayuta is capable of predicting where Mikoto’s lightning will hit (See Mahou Sensei Negima, Negi VS Rakan and how Rakan defeated Negi’s Raisen Taisou 1), and can react in the 0.5 second gap to counter attack. Though Nayuta can’t see the paths for the Iron sand blades Mikoto brought out, and almost lost. Due to her mechanical parts acting as a lightning rod Nayuta wasn’t as hurt as she should be, but is still paralysed. Mikoto then confined Nayuta in a cage made from lightning and iron sand. Nayuta charged towards Mikoto and in the result burning off the skin on her hand, showing Mikoto that she’s a cyborg. Though Nayuta can make people’s ability go berserk she can’t “Stop” the ability, that’s how she’s stuck in the cage.
In theory, Nayuta can even defeat Accelerator (before he gained black wings and lost half his calculating abilities) if she trained enough according to Kihara Amata.

Nayuta caught Mikoto red-handed kicking that vending machine in the 7th district, and used this chance to fight Mikoto as she’s part of Judgment. Nayuta picked a fight with Mikoto partly due to a grudge that Mikoto took down Harumi, and partly because she wanted to fight a real Level 5 to test her skills that she acquired from Kihara Gensei. Mikoto replied she understands at least part of Nayuta’s motives, as she herself goes after people older than her, ie ‘that idiot’ (Touma) at times as well. Also, this isn’t the 1st time Mikoto had to deal with espers younger than her challenging her.

Kuroko on the other hand saw the No.7 (Sogiita Gunha) duelling another guy and thought it was a case of bullying. Kuroko tried to apprehend Gunha but failed, and then they saw Mikoto’s lightning from that park and they all went to investigate.
Gunha is capable of pseudo teleport, as shown when he fought Kuroko. Also, the ‘wavelengths’ around him is not AIM of any kind, and any AIM that comes near him gets distorted. He can also move at the speed of sound. He’s one of the very few ‘Black Box’ of Academy City in that almost nothing is known about his ability.

NOTE: The ones responsible for developing Gunha’s ability is none other than the ‘Kihara Research Institute’ o_O

=IMPORTANT(?)= Mikoto is known to many people in the 7th district as “That crazy bitch from Tokiwadai” since she keeps frying everyone’s electric equipment when she starts fighting. As soon as they saw the lightning everybody started to turn off their equipment and gone into ‘anti-disaster’ mode xD

Nayuta then tried to make Mikoto and Gunha fight each other, by making Mikoto shoot bolts of lightning at Gunha. Gunha was unharmed, and then accidently hit Mikoto’s berserk buttons (ie being stronger than her and calling her a child) by calling Mikoto’s attack something he doesn’t even need to try and block “if it’s only something at that level”.
Mikoto then decided to use Gunha as a practice run as he’s practically unharmed by her attacks for when she has to go after Touma. She even asked if Gunha knows ‘That idiot’ due to them both capable of being unharmed by her attacks. Gunha has no idea who Mikoto is on about.

And it ends up being a Duel between the No.3 and No.7 Level 5s, with Gunha’s loss if he attacks back or is knocked unconscious. These conditions lead to Mikoto getting even more furious as she thinks this means he doesn’t have to fight back against her.
Mikoto shot a strong lightning bolt at him (fatal to any normal human being), and he was only numbed slightly. She then tried to use her Railgun on him (at 30% output) and Gunha is unharmed – because he caught the coin Mikoto fired past the speed of sound with his TEETH o_O
Then he remarked it’s illegal to take game tokens out of those places, which lead to others saying he’s a idiot for caring about that at a time like this. Mikoto came to the conclusion Gunha’s not like Touma since he doesn’t negate the attacks.
Mikoto then brought out two giant black swords (or more like chainsaw swords) made of iron sand and did a nitouryuu (two swords style) stance with them.
For the residents of 7th district, getting caught up in disasters like this are something they all got used to by now as Mikoto’s rampage continued.

Nayuta’s awed by the display of AIM field around Mikoto and Gunha, and these two are just playing around. To her who can see AIM fields it’s like the typhoon which sprouts up at apocalypse.
She thought if Gunha didn’t step in she might not have survived against Mikoto’s powers as her arms are already partially fried. She felt ashamed, but more anger at herself for not being as powerful as she wanted to be. She promised Banri and others to become a Level 5 and join Judgment as that was all their dreams, to show when they band together even those discarded by others can be powerful when they try.
Nayuta then tried to jump into that maelstrom of AIM, just so she can get closer to the powers she has been seeking.

After trying many other things such as wide area electric storm attack or turning nearby steel cans into plasma, Mikoto then brought out one of her most powerful weapons: calling clouds into the area and bring down a powerful lightning strike from the heavens (ie the one that shot down onto Touma that other time). Gunha brought his defences up to the max and Nayuta’s senses overloaded from the stimulus. All the trees in the park are flattened by Mikoto’s blast.
Earlier, Gunha said he brought up a part of the Earth’s electromagnetic field using telekinesis to act as a shield against Mikoto’s lightning (he calls it ‘Aurora Guard’), to which Gunha’s Friend that Kuroko dragged along with her flat out states it’s physically impossible. It’s unknown how he really redirected lightning, but it’s not perfect – he still sustained light burns from Mikoto’s attacks.

Later, Kihara Gensei commented Nayuta’s not quite qualified of being a ‘Kihara’ yet – any Kihara would disregard all limits and destroy whatever experiment they are put into. Nayuta’s acting just like a lab rat who presses levers when given the right stimulus, and no matter how exceptional she is as a subject, to Gensei it just shows her uselessness. Still, Gensei and Amata are proud of her achievements and the information she has provided as a subject, though they would never say that in front of her.

As Mikoto and Gunha are huffing and puffing someone else saw their disturbance and came to investigate – the Tokiwadai Dorm Manager. She told Mikoto Tokiwadai’s abuse of that vending machine is starting to become a problem, before taking down Mikoto easily with a Neck Snap. Nayuta was shocked that someone without abilities (below even a level 0 esper) can take down a Level 5 so easily, and then she fainted from exhaustion.

Nayuta was taken to a hospital by the Dorm manager, and it turns out the Dorm manager knows who Nayuta is and how she is related to the Kiharas due to the daycare centre she helps out in are sponsored by the Kiharas. With her resources the Dorm manager found out about how Banri and others are still in a coma, and that Nayuta isn't a bad person.
Nayuta asked if the Dorm Manager is one of the Hound Dogs, and she replies she doesn’t know any group with that name.
The Dorm manager warned Nayuta that the only time when she can treat Nayuta kindly is when she’s still a primary school student. If she comes into Tokiwadai Middle School with that behaviour she’ll “treat her just like any Tokiwadai student”, which lead to Nayuta getting a fright and almost seeing a demon behind the Dorm Manager’s smile – and she can’t tell whether it’s real or not even though she can see AIM fields.

Nayuta sustained damage to 47% of her body and can’t move for 10 days afterwards while strengthening and fixing takes place. The researchers has gotten valuable info from the sensors implanted in Nayuta and are even happy that Nayuta has gotten damaged to this extent, otherwise they could not have gotten this information otherwise.
Telestina seems to be Nayuta’s older sister (UNCONFIRMED), but Nayuta doesn’t know Telestina’s plans with Banri and the others. During the ten days that Nayuta is out of the way Telestina carried out her experiment on Banri, and eventually was brought down by Mikoto and co.
Also mentioned, Kihara Amata has a son who is also involved in the Dark Side of Academy City, but details was cut off before anything vital was mentioned.

Mikoto is kinda sad she never got to hear Gunha’s name, and this is only because she now can’t go hunt him down and demand a rematch. Kuroko is jealous of the fact Mikoto can use her ability to give herself a electric massage to slowly recover from the Dorm Manager’s Neck Snap.

Gunha was pushed back by the Dorm Manager’s aura and agreed to stop the battle (Mentioned here the Dorm Manager seems to have Acqua-like techniques when it comes to moving around, she can slide across the ground like ice skating). Later he went to that vending machine Mikoto kicked and bought a drink, and was surprised the machine still works well after everything that has happened around them.
Neither Mikoto nor Gunha was in trouble as the researchers spying on has gotten valuable data from their clashes, and decides to just fix everything up and wipe the trouble from the records.
When the Anti-Skill first known about Mikoto and Gunha fighting, after panicking the first person they sent for is Yomikawa (ie that teacher from Touma's school) - but it turns out the higher-ups said everything is under control and cancelled Anti-Skill's intervention.

Epilogue: Mikoto, Hamazura and others around Academy City are listening to a pirated radio channel that’s talking about the strongest non-esper in Academy city, going through Komaba and Kurozuma before mentioning a woman even more powerful than them. Before they can reveal her identity the channel mysteriously gets cut off. (IMO, the Dorm manager most likely raided the place to preserve her secret…)
Kuroko tried to find info on Nayuta, but doesn’t have the clearance. Mikoto then went to bed, and as Kuroko tried to crawl in with her like it’s only natural Mikoto gave her a German Suplex for punishment.
Later, that radio channel came back on air as if nothing has happened.


My Comments:

Mikoto < Gunha <<Tokiwadai Dorm Manager.

Sogiita Gunha = Jack Rakan of ToaruVerse, as he bears the pain from attacks through pure strength of will. Except he’s not as powerful/h4x as Rakan.

I'm starting to like Gunha as well. I love how Mikoto couldn't really do anything really damaging to him and how the dorm manager suddenly appeared and dealed divine punishment on them. I wonder who exactly the dorm manager is...

She really doesn't seem to notice or care how her fighting affects her surroundings all that much. "That crazy bitch from Tokiwadai" suits her well.
