Dark Souls 2
Just announced at the 2012 VGA's. No release date yet, though it is confirmed for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
Kotaku has a video player of the premiere that is working right now. I want to scream like a little girl right now. Last edited by Asuras; 2012-12-08 at 02:19. |

It's funny too, because this very day I was telling my friend I'd rather get more DLC than get a new game. But now that it's been announced, I'm all for it regardless.
Either way, release date is not announced, so you very well could have a year to play PTDE. |

DO IT! lol...*joking*
i havent played Dark Soul yet. i was planning to try out the PC version, but then there were issues with it i heard. did they even fix the problems yet? like how the game cant go up to 1080p and frame rate. i'm leaning more toward any games that can go to the PC. i hope Dark Soul 2 for PC doesnt have much problems on launching day or else i might skip it as well.

The problems are not fixed, but there is a non-endorsed patch which allows you to change your aspect ratio in-game (normally this is fixed) but doesn't forbid you from going online. I tried it, and it actually made my framerate worse so I suppose it varies with computers. Nevertheless, I'd at least recommend it in case it does work.
The main issue people had was with controls, which are NOT AT ALL optimized for the PC. They're so un-optimized that labels in-game still think you're playing on the XBOX (eg, it'll say "Press A" to accept even though your 'A' key could be something like the T key depending on how you set up your keyboard layout). Me and my friend bought DS for the PC (yes, I have it on both the xbox and PC, sue me ) and initially failed utterly with the PC controls. Nevertheless we continued and still play persistently today. We mastered the terrible controls, to say the least. |

Didn't see this coming. Wonder if this time Dark Soul 2 would get a server just like Demon Soul or would I have to spend hours trying to team up with my friend... Only someone to die the next 10 mins.
I do hope there be a boss similar to Ornstein & Smough. They drove me crazy trying to solo them. Finally did give them the beating in the end and it felt good.

As unlikely as it would be, I'm kinda hoping that they would adopt Dragon's Dogma's combat system to add some verticality into the play style as well as more move sets per weapon...
...And make some of the uncommon weapons like whips more stronger =_=

I'm MORE THAN excited for this game. And they even announced it for PC.
I know a lot a peeps complained about the controls for the PC. I wasn't one of them, since I used a controller for the PC Version of Dark Souls and it worked fine, just like the console version, only with better graphics thanks to Durante's fix. - I just hope this time around, I won't have to download a fix to get PC graphics. - I hope the MP bar makes returns. Dark Souls's numbered use of spells didn't please me much. - I hope spells & magicks are more important this time around. - Of course, I want more loot (equipement : swords, armors, axes, spears, etc...). *Make it like the Diablo 2 or 3 loot, equipement with many different stats. *But instead of lvl restrictions like Diablo 3, make the equipement stat-restricted only. - Of course, I hope they won't follow Diablo 3's road of taking off the option of choosing your stats at level up. Choosing your stats is very important to me. - They said that Dark Souls 2 will have a story line, I'm glad. It was never really my concern for this kinda game, but I'm glad. *What I want more are numerous NPCs, villages, or lost towns. *A bigger world (I assume Dark Souls 2 will be bigger than Dark Souls). - I hope cheating is controlled this time around. *I'm fine with monster killing exploits. *What I'm not fine with is that duplication soul trick. *I'm willing to shell out 15$ a month to play on a maintained server. - Oh and please, I want a better face editor. *I want to make characters like this. |

Well like I said, they've already announced DS2 will be server-based. So no need to pay 15$.
I actually think numbered magic uses is far more fair, especially considering the power they had in Dark Souls. Imagine if the mages had no limit to their spell counts. And variable loot = Do not want. I'd rather I be able to go for a specific item knowing it's what I wanted and to the degree I expected than farming in the hopes that I get what I need. |
