I'm having a hard time seeing what I can find to enjoy about this Yu-Gi-Oh rip-off spin-off.

That game that's quite central to the story? He's the guy who invented it. Also the father of Amitie and Kyrie, and the one who houses Stern, Levi, Dearche and Yuri.
In other words: The most plot-central character of this chapter. |

Good for him. I can't say that I care very much at all.

For one, this looks like a game where you play as yourself. No creatures, mostly spells. Sure you can have trap spells, instants, sorceries, enchantments, but no spell-crafted attackers. Unless you're a summoner, then you get to summon a minion. Another difference: team combat. You fight in groups of 5 v 5, each person being 1 mage. I deduced this because Nanoha team has Suzuka, Arisa, Fate, Alicia and herself, maybe +1 Amy, while Hayate team has Signum, Vita, Shamal plus Reinforce and maybe +1 Rein Zwei? Poor Zaffy. Florian team has all 5 too, and maybe +1 Yuri. The card might function as a deck, but so far I see no one drawing from it. If anything, it might even be a Spellbeck, as in, Becky's Spellcards as seen in Dog Days. (Becky's name really goes with a lot of things, doesn't it? The Beckshin, and now Spellbecks...)

Lyco... Don't like, don't read. Is someone pointing a gun at your head forcing you to read? Is someone taking your soul/GF/whatever hostage and told you to read? No? Then don't read it. Simple
Stop ruining it for other people. Let them form their own opinion of the series. |

You mean a Nanoha manga might actually feel like another Nanoha manga? How shocking!
But honestly, to call a show a rip-off of a cardgame show because "it has cards!" is silly. By that logic, the entire Nanoha franchise is a Sally the Witch rip-off for having magical girls. |

Apologies for any sort of antagonism in my statements, that was unintended and wrong of me. Just hopeful for certain characters to show up, or a healthy amount of focus to be given on the Materials and Florian sisters...since they are honestly the only ones I'm interested in, if this goes the "usual" way, a la the rest of canon.
