AMAZINGLY DETAILED WORK AS ALWAYS from KJ1980.
I didn't know they were using so few pages / episode. That means they can do almost infinite number of series episodes. (flashbacks and etc...)

If they want to continue with the sotry line without flashbacks, they can make at least 2 more seasons until they reach the curent issue of the novel.

Feel free to use it as a reference anyway you wish. That's why I wrote it down.

The last novel, which was "Mari-mite Vol. 18 Premium Book" is more like an anime "mook" ("movie" + "book" = "mook") in which it gives a synopsis of the first season of the anime, anime character designs and concepts, along with interviews with the seiyuus who voiced the students.

The only thing particular that would be considered to be "new stuff" is short story towards the back of the book on how Mizuno Youko chose Ogasawara Sachiko as her soeur. The author, Konno Oyuki, wrote this as a request from Shinohara Emi (seiyuu for Mizuno Youko) and Itou Miki (seiyuu for Ogasawara Sachiko) since they wanted to know how they became soeurs.

Hence, beside this, the real "last novel" until the next one comes out on October was "Mari-mite Vol. 17 Ciao Sorella!" This was an entire book on the second-year class' (Yumi, Yoshino, Shimako, Mami, Tsutako, and the rest) field trip to Italy. And who is in Italy right now? Kanina Shizuka-sama makes an appearance, so does a whisper that Sei & Kei are on their own trip as well. The second chapter in this book is a very short one - which details how Sachiko and Kanako deals with their beloved person - Yumi, gone for almost a week.

kj, thank you again. really!

I knew already the trip story. I thought that the last novels will begin the third year of Yumi, Shimako and Yoshino.

the second year is spread out (is it the good english word?) over several volumes (more than the first year besides). I'm in a hurry to know the story of "rainy blue" in the end of this season. Sachiko disappoints me much in this second season. I don't understand her... maybe it's just because she and Yumi were not the main character in this season? i don't know.

I'm really suprised that Konno Oyuki doesn't write the story about Youko and Sachiko yet.

Thank you for these information

If vol 19 is about the Culture Festival, then the story will have finally completed one full year, not counting flashbacks. Remember that vol 1 takes place in the Fall, so we don't really know what Yumi's school life was like before that.

Addendum: I thought about this a bit more (don't ask me why, my brain just wanders that way), and it occured to me that there might be some confusion here amongst western fans. Here in the US, and in most of Europe, I believe, school begins in the fall, sometime in late August or September. In Japan, school starts in April, so that by the time Sachiko and Yumi meet in front of the statue, Yumi's freshman year is about half over. If a western watcher didn't know the Japanese school schedule, they might think that school had just begun.

So far in the anime, they've only covered a few months' worth of time, where as the novels are about to finally reach September, one year later.
