Hoshino-sensei has been taking several breaks over the years, in November 2005 she was severely ill, in February 2006 she went ill again, and then she took a 1 month break after the fight between Cross and Tyki in 2007(and these are just of the top of my head). And then she started taking a week recently again. I think she never had a break longer than 3 months IIRC.

HunterXHunter is an extremely popular manga that is written by Yoshihiro Togashi, and in his world, Shonnen Jump runs by his release secluded, not the other way around

I cant even believe you just posted that when the anwser was 2 posts above you.

The Author is on hiatus due to bad health and hasent recovered yet, and no it is liked in japan its a very populer manga on the same level as Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Reborn, just that the author is sick atm.

well i read the post but i thought that mangas get on hiatus when they are not liked in japan and that's why the post above didn't make sense

I'm not sure what her specific condition is, but whatever it is flares up from time to time and causes immense damage. It happened a few years back too, I believe, and was on hiatus for two months.

Not sure how long it will be this time, as this flare up caused her severe intestinal bleeding that required surgery.

Well, unless a cure for whatever she has is developed, it's only natural that severe flare ups would just make future flare ups worse, as there would be previous damage to the organs.

I don't recall where I read it, but I seem to recall hearing that she's done with her surgery and recovering now. Could still be another month (or couple months), but it's reassuring to know she's past the worst of this episode.

She has an illness called Norovirus and the second being an injury in her neck.

Still im a little concerned about her illness with Norovirus. Because the number of deaths from norovirus in the US is estimated to be around 300 each year, with most of these occurring in the very young, elderly and persons with weakened immune systems.

I saw some website and posts that say D Gray Man manga expected date of return will be April. Is it true?

Can anyone confirm this? Or any other news about Hoshino sensei or D gray Man manga. I miss D Gray Man a lot.

It's been 3 whole months.

Hope Hoshino sensei gets well and also resume D Gray Man manga earlier.

Btw, I wonder if Hoshino sensei has planned the plot for D Gray Man remaining storyline oredi or not? Wonder if she can think about it while suffering from pain?

Well I dont think its confirmed that Hoshino sensei will return in April, since it wasent on Anime News Network.

But I do hope so, also Hoshino sensei might have bin thinking the plot while resting and using the time to think about what should happen next and etc etc.

I have already read the news about Hoshino-sensei improving health by a little.

The people acquainted with Hoshino-sensei at Jump hold a few hopes that D.Gray-man manga will resume back on April.

As for a couple of peoples' inquiries out there?

Hoshino, definitely, has been thinking about the development of the current arc, which is in hiatus and in a cliffhanger right now, but I do not think at all that she has already planned how the entire story is going to end.

Though I'm of those few little who want to know in how many volumes is D.Gray-man going to end.
