Pokemon GSC Remake (DS)
Well, it was kinda obvious, but I'm still excited.
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/info/game/g090508_01.html About damn time they brought the best games in the series back.

Wow, a couple of years ago, i would be jizzing in my pants, now, i'm just extremely excited.
Pearl/Diamond/Emerald was kind of a disappointment, but they still are great games, but when you go with THE BEST GAME IN THE SERIES, there's no way to get it wrong. Ash, i'm going to kick your ass in TWO SCREENS! |

I'm really excited about this since my original GSC games have long since broke. It'll be nice to have an updated version of the games. I think Silver still is my favorite of all the Pokemon games.
Well techincally they remade Red and instead of blue, created a green version.

I was always wondering as a kid why there were versions for only two of the starter pokemon instead of three. Ever since the GSC games I always wished for the night/day concept and its effects on pokemon showing up/evolution/etc. to return and I'd assume they'd keep it in this updated version. Now I actually haven't played the newest Pokemon games yet, (although I'm planning on doing so soon) but is the night/day effects back in them.

Oh man, I'm actually kind of excited about this. G/S/C were seriously -the- best in the series, and Gold was the first one I actually played....Man, I had so much fun with it.
To me, Diamond was a big dissapointment. I dont know if was the game...or just me growing up and losing any attention I try to place in video games now days. But eh. |

I hated RSE for not having them. I really did. Ohhh man... the memories about the original GSC... I don't think they'll be able to bring them back in full, but I'm sure some nostalgia will arise. I played those games too much.

Yes! Rumors were floating around, so really was looking forward to it!
And looking forward to Mikan's new character design/avatar! It has been too long since I've used the Johto starters... Hahaha. For now, I'll be setting up to get Gold... Ho-oh, after all. Ho-oh. .........................Not great naming sense... Fire/Leaf was one thing... This is... Quote:

Even though a good amount of the new character designs for the new evolutions of past pokemon have been... meh. Quote:
Bought and playing the JP version... But you know~, it sucks that you can't use Pal Park with different region's GBA games... I bought the JP version because I never played one before in JP, and wanted to see what it was like (most standing out memory=For god sakes, use at least a bit of kanji...) Currently... Doing nothing? Not much to do left. The Battle Frontier is difficult as usual... For now, 1. Train and beat the Elite Four's stronger version 2. Catch a Beldum or whatever that was called that becomes Metagross in a swarm event ...Recently caught a shiny Golbat in Platinum... Why do I only find shinys of ones I don't care... Marowak, Raticate, Spinda, Fearow... Pearl/Diamond/Platinum were fun! (^^)b (Then again, I always find Pokemon fun...) One disappointment would be the secret bases though. The original version was a lot better. Female sprites as cute as usual (more?). Maybe the anime is influencing me, but love Natane the most........ even if there is a creepy rumor existing over her connection with the mansion in the forest... *shivers* EDIT: And also, Team Galaxy has been the best evil organization so far, story (what little any even get) and BGM. Can't trade (no one around me) --> Can't get Alakazam --> Me=Orz...

Nagging question: Why the HELL can't they just put in an epic storyline? At least explain to me why Red is a mute little emo in a dark mountain with L80+'s!
I stopped playing after GSC for that reason. Like...I was given an impression in the manga (yes, there is one following the game) that Red is this awesome guy, and then I had to deal with him and all he ever said to me was a bunch of ellipses. Talk about being dissed, man. Like...even the most open RPGs have vague chains of events to follow. Pokemon got kinda ridiculous. You travel the world, capture 400+ things, defeat a bunch of terrorists wearing increasingly ridiculous cult costumes, 4 bishoujos, your childhood rival that you feel like you've talked to 5 times in your life, and that's it. Feel free to tell me when they finally decide to either 1) make a JRPG-worthy story, or 2) make a full 3D RPG game. And sorry for rant. But really, people ranted about how Megaman and Sonic repeat themselves, and not Pokemon. I got a little annoyed. Last edited by Claies; 2009-05-08 at 01:49. |
