To Heart 2 (TV)

Is this anime worth watching because i watched the first To Heart till like ep 5 and wasnt too impressed but maybe i didnt give it enough time.

The pace might be a little tad too slow for action-lovers, but the anime itself is interesting. I think perhaps that most of the episodes so far has been concentrating on character development more than anything else, and there I don't really think there's much of a storyline, but more of short stories put together to make up the whole thing.

It was the same with me. I still dislike the first To Heart. It has too many single Episodes, and everytime a different girl as the main character.
But the second version, Remember my Memories was worth the time. Building up on the first season, the story and characters really progressed.

I don't think any prior knowledge of ToHeart 1 is necessary, as it's a completely new cast and story altogether, just the same school and the good ol' cute uniform.

I myself have no knowledge of ToHeart 1, perhaps there're some stuff in it which would please the die-hard ToHeart fan, but nothing that would hinder newcomers enjoying the series and the new characters.

No, you don't need to. The first To Heart has no relation to To Heart 2 except the schools and the robots, but nothing else. To Heart 2 can be watched without watching the others.

I'l say this episode hit me like a all of a sudden, out of nowhere, totally un expected huge load of bricks dropped from a AN-225 lol.

Sure, I had the preview from the special compilation, but it's not like they said what was going to happen.

NOT JUST ONE, NOT JUST TWO, OMG THERE WAS A MOTHERLOAD OF GYM SHORTS, A MOTHERLOAD OF CUTE GIRLS AAAAHHHHH FOR THE FIRST TIME, MOE MELTING NOSEBLEEEDO!!!!! Konomi has news for Takaki! Except Yuji has plans for another double date with the Himeyuri's....it doesn't really make Konomi happy...in which she runs into Tama-nee, and this scene major nosebleed, aahh lotsa leg when they were sitting on the grass....ahhh...watch it full screen yo.....so on the way home, Konomi leaps onto Takaki's back, startling the crap outta him. Yuji gets illegal face mask from Tama-nee, and lol, I can't stop moe melting from Konomi doing her "I can't hear you" sounds. Next scene, Konomi is in the bathroom,.....enjoying her changing body rofl...I think I have avatar material there...so the next day Konomi goes with her friends, now lol, the names elude me yet again, Midori haired girl and glasses girl. Ok, what, they don't get alot of screentime, of course my ears grew wax of their names. Anyways, can't get enough of 3 cute girls having convo's together. Hey, Midori haired girl has her tank on top of her shirt lol....MOE MELT! But they spot Yuji and Takaki on the double date with the Himeyuri's. It doesn't really make Konomi happy...wait, did I just see Konomi in miniskirt...next day, Konomi goes for a drink after waking up, apparently wasn't aware of the Takaki....now I got issues with her ashamed of him seeing her in her pj's...something...YEEEAAARRR HER FULL POSTURE, ONLY COVERED BY THE SILKEN CLOTHING KNOWN AS PAJAMA'S LOL.....So Konomi spends some time with Tama-nee, and i'll admit, with just the two of them together, it really makes Tama-nee look like Tamaki neesan. Tama-nee certaintly was big sis material here. So seeing Konomi alot in this episode, I notice she really has a nice body lol...Now, I find it weird, Yuzuhara oka-san leaving her house to the care of a ...well, friend, but still, it's not like Takaki's blood related, leaving the house to someone other than yourself...lol...so Takaki and konomi have quality time together. Konomi is acting strange though, the more time she spends with Taka the more she get the blushes. Well now, while eating, Konomi isn't exactly what we'd call calm, and when Takaki tried to pick a rice peice off her face, she got even more blushes...ok, so bedtime, and I got some more issues with this Takaki...leaving the TV on, man whats the matter with you wake up you big bozo....but it was nice, seeing Konomi giving him a blanket, but in her nervous state of mind she hit her ankle on the table, causing Taka to wake up. Wow, you couldn't wake up with a TV that's on, and yet...nvm...next day, wow, wait, how many days have gone by this ep lol...so Takaki and Konomi run into Yuji, and I'll say this guy should be more like DC's Suginami....bad Takaki, leaving Konomi in your dust lol...oh hey, here's Tama oneechan. Oh, wow what luck, Takaki runs into Konomi's friends....hey wait a minute,.....that's the Serika Kurusagawa uni's they're wearing...aahhhhh...But Takaki, being the ass he is, said something really really wrong, and...ok, first Lamune, now To Heart 2....I tell you I am getting too much crying girls in anime of late....Konomi runs off, and now...Run Takaki, catch that runaway bride lol....

Next episode looks like a Takaki ep, dmn knave doesn't deserve an episode after what he put Konomi through....

I am debating whether or not to put SS on my blog....

Jokes, sarcasms, and lots of screaming aside, he's right on. Konomi basically wants to show Takaki how much she's grown, but things get in the way, starting with Yuuji using Takaki just to get close to the twins, in two occassions, and Konomi is hurt. Things get more complicated when she gets some time alone with Takaki, and only gets very embarrassed on a few situations, like being seen in her pajamas.

Spoiler for Super Spoiler for those who haven't played the game to Konomi's ending:

When Takaki runs into Konomi's former classmates, they confront him with a startling question: Does he like Konomi? Well he sorts of shrugs it off saying he just considers her a childhood friend, and more like a younger sister. His big mistake was saying it out loud when Konomi is just around the corner (and it so happens Tamaki heard it too). Apparently Konomi is very hurt by this and runs away crying (not understanding why), and Takaki finds out too late, Yuuji berating him for his blatant statement.

Still, Konomi is still a lot of a child at heart, I mean, wailing out loud while covering her ears instead of just saying "I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT!" is um, well, not exactly a mature thing to do (on the other hand, she'd make an excellent alarm clock - just kidding... (gets yelled at by Konomi)).

Looks to me like a Konomi ending, given what happened at the end of ep 12.
Perhaps if you hop over to Bluemist's website (and not mind the heavy spoilers) you'll find everything you want to know. That's where I got the info for my speculations. If Tamaki's ending will take place, I believe something else really big oughta happen with her and Takaaki.
(oh and I have the game To Heart 2 X Rated now; can't find the teen-friendly PS2 version so it's better than nothing).

Takaki isn't exactly the brightest bulb around, but he's about to take it to new heights if he doesn't choose Tamaki.

Oh well. It wouldn't be the first time I would be disappointed by an anime pairing.

Note: Poor Yuuji ate Iron Claw in To Heart 2 game the first time you actually ran into Tamaki. (Detailed spoilers below, some discrepancies here and there. Other Members are free to correct this.)

After Tamaki goes off to prepare something for you to eat, Takaki hears muffled screaming and trails it to Tamaki's room. The screaming originates from one of the closets, which Takaki opens...and promptly closes before doing a double take and hauls a tied up Yuuji out to get him free and asks him what the hell was going on with him asking Takaki over to his house. Yuuji replies that it's all a trap set by Tamaki(as stated before, recorded voice tape) and tells Takaki to run for it. Tamaki then makes her presence known, having somehow appeared sitting on her bed as Takaki has flashbacks to the past of the rough Tama-nee with the tone of voice as well as the expression on her face(devious). Yuuji futilely mounts an assault to hold off Tamaki and tells Takaki to run for it. Yuuji's plan fails, since Takaki is just too stunned to move and Yuuji's assault ends in a spin kick backfiring and being temple clamped by Iron Claw and fainting from the pain. Tamaki then begins hugging the life out of poor Takaki.

Extra Sidenote: I think you can see Tamaki's Iron Claw at Megatokyo since Dom's blog has it for a post header at the moment.

Actually, even if Takaki chooses Konomi, Tamaki is very supportive of it because Tamaki is also quite fond of Konomi. Thing is, Takaki must realize what Konomi's feelings for him are, and be honest about his own feelings towards her, and that's where Tamaki's gonna start "lecturing" him about it.

At the end of the Konomi path after Konomi runs off, Tamaki stops you from chasing her and asks you what you're gonna do if you catch up with Konomi, then spells it out - is Konomi just a childhood friend, or someone you love?

Spoiler for Ending Choices:

The best ending would be to choose Konomi as someone you love; Tamaki will back off and be content and you get Konomi. On the other hand, other choice (childhood friend) is in fact not a bad idea, and actually leads to a kind of harem ending, as both Konomi and Tamaki decide you're fair game so you effectively get both of them.

... changed the fact that Konomi had already realized her feelings prior to entering High School with Takaki (The reason she applied was so she could be with him). One of the main points to her story was her trying to suppress her feelings for Takaki so that they could be together, but it was probably too long to script in a 20 minute episode >.>...

On another note... I guess there's no Yuuki/Sasara/Marian episode... ;_; Kuso!

I second Konomi-taso's moe~ childlike phrase in that episode. That was tera-great!!

But all in all, TH2 the anime has been a major disappointment. In my opinion, I think everyone is more into the TH2 XRATED game than the anime itself.
