Nope. Had to go from 1920x1080 to 1280x1024-ish to get rid of frame stuttering and even after all the GFX dumbing down, every once in a while I still get slowdowns (especially when it rains or at night).
Kinda surprised by the steep VRAM requirements and the extent of the system impact; even AC3 and AC4BF didn't give me a reason to upgrade my video card upon their release. Kind of a nasty surprise, really. >_<

It does look like a solid game, but I think I'll wait for the patches and inevitable "Deluxe/GotY/whatever" pack to come, that'll include the DLC and be at a better price point.

got my game working, the problem of course was....me! i hadnt updated my video card drivers in about a year lol
So im playing the game doing good deeds building my rep up, then i got into a car chase with some coppers, after i got away i saw a cop walking away from me....and thats where it happened!! My GTA personality kicked me and for the next 5ms i was killing cops and civilians who were calling the cops on me or insulted me, and then i relised.....this isnt GTA and saw that my rep was at 0 again...2hrs wasted lol #Question, how do u turn off your mic in multiplayer on the pc or at least have it on push to talk? mine is always on for some reason

Which, in and of itself, is by no means a bad thing. One thing that does bug me, however, is the fact that aesthetic customization for Aiden is limited to palette alterations for the most part. Aside from personal taste, we could have had the option of using certain outfits to aid the more subtle playstyles. By way of reference, consider Pandemic Studio's last hurrah, Saboteur: it includes a simple disguise mechanic which, with careful play, can let you accomplish many missions with little or no combat...

It's weird.
My PC runs perfectly fine with it but I had to downgrade the graphics only because it was driving my fan into overdrive. Other than that everything is good so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Speaking of the game. The game is a lot of fun and there's lots of stuff to do. In regards to online hacking it really bugs me when it does happen but part of me doesn't want to turn it off I finished the ACT where you meet Damien and have been running around building up my reputation and weapons and such. In the meantime I don't hack but I've had 3 people hack me. The first person who hacked me I was able to find him hiding in the car so I shot him in the head. The second person panicked and ran away before I could catch him. The third person hacked me when I was near a bridge so apparently he jumped in the water trying to hide from me In any case I was able to narrow him down and found him running around a rock to keep me out of sight so to correct that I got on top of the rock and gunned him down. So honestly the online hacking is a huge risk to take and so far I haven't done it. So it's kinda fun in a way to have online people hack you without even realizing it until they attack you. Interesting that you don't suffer lag or such. |

I hate to say this but I have to admit PS3 version is the worst version of this game. It just too ugly, even in PS3 standards. Too many black and grey and it even uglier than GTA IV(2008). I know that Chigago is supposed to be an "ugly" city but it just had too many blur, lack of brighter colors, etc.
It is really sad that Ubisoft's last year's game, Assassin Creed IV: Black Flag in same console actually have better graphics than this one. Heck even GTA V in PS3 looks many time better than Watch Dogs in term of graphics. Bigger world to explore with brighter colors, no loading time except before cutscenes and missions and better driving mechanic. I know WD is not a GTA clone but the driving should be better than it is now. Overall, WD is a good game but I played it on wrong platform. I should get the PC version but too bad my PC is too puny to play that game so I was forced to play it on my PS3 instead. |

Fun game! I love how you can approach almost any mission any you way with want (explosives, gunning everyone down, assassin, or just simply avoiding/knocking guys out). Too bad my laptop isn't that great, but it still looks pretty decent on medium settings. The controls for keyboard/mouse are terrible. There is mouse smoothing which I hate, but a friend of mine said you can go through the files and edit one of the preferences to disable it. I found it much easier/fun to hook up my 360 controller.
Aside from that, anyone else having a difficult time driving around? I'm having a tough time controlling any vehicle and it's super annoying during car chases or getaways.

Vehicles I'm kinda getting the hang of; you want to be accel off as you enter the turn and accel on as you exit, and try not to hit the brakes lest you spin out and stuff.
And now that I have the command-detonated IED skill, my general tactic for criminal convoys is: 1. Find a bike of some sort. 2. Drive to a good area near where the target will come by. I now like intersections. There's a pretty good chance he'll end up stopped before the traffic lights so you can blow him away. I'm still a little sad you can't do drive-by shootings on bikes. -_- 3. Stay on bike across the road. Be facing opposite direction of target's heading. 4. Home in on IED and get ready to hack. 5. Detonate IED as soon as target drives over it. 6. Ride away on bike. As two of my friends who've served told me, I was being very Taliban. Of course, the pump-action grenade launcher is also great fun to use on convoys. XD

@Wild Goose: using C4 ŕ la Battlefield "Jeep Jihad" can be dangerous since some of the convoy members need to be taken down (i.e. knocked out and kept alive!) instead of gunned down. I've failed several Convoy missions this way - the targets died due to exploding cars (caused by C4 or grenade launcher spam), triggering the failure condition. Using C4 is good if the lead convoy vehicle doesn't carry targets, though - it immobilizes the entire motorcade, but the following cars can still maneuver around flaming wreckage in some cases...or if a nearby street happens to be wide open.
If you already have the Destroyer rifle (the souped-up Barrett M107/M109) unlocked, then you might have a better option - two rounds of this stuff are enough to stop any car in its tracks, permanently, though the darn thing has an extremely limited magazine capacity. As soon as the target vehicles are crippled, switch to assault rifles and finish the rest off (though, watch out, the targets can still flee on foot or be killed by exploding burning cars). I'm a bit surprised they removed the dotConnexion mission from the demo and replaced it by a Convoy takedown-like mission. Joseph deMarco still dies, but not in the circumstances shown in the demo (in fact, in the game's release version, deMarco was relegated to the role of a background character throughout the game - you can see him standing around in the auction and in the baseball game, but aside from that he's only mentioned in hacked emails and SMS). Oh, well, whatever.

@Renegade334: Yeah, we're definitely approaching things from the same perspective. *nodnod* BF3 players unite! I normally do the IED if it's an Eliminate mission, otherwise I'll cause traffic accidents to tie up the escort cars and then takedown the targets with my Goblin.
And I must say, the pump action grenade launcher is fun. XD I kinda feel a little like the Robertanator when using it.
