Romance/comedy
I'd like some (good) romance series. I like them with comedy, and a small spice of ecchi and harem. (Note the 'small spice' part. Meaning, it's not something that it needs, just a little possible extra )
I've already watched quite alot of this kind, and I can't seem to find any good ones anymore. It doesn't matter if there's action in it, as long as it's not overused (like Bleach, not that it's a romance/comedy anyway. Well, it does have a small prescence of the two, but it's very faint.) Hope ya guys can help a poor fellow otaku out. Oh yeah, I'm new here. Yoroshiku. (Please, smite me if I spelled that incorrectly.) Like: Mahoraba Girls Bravo Shuffle! Magikano Ah! My Goddess Love Hina Chobits Fruits Basket Mahoromatic Honey and Clover Tsukuyomi -Moon Phase- Amaenaideyo Shakugan no SHANA Ichigo 100% Suzuka Midori no Hibi Kanon Onegai Teacher Onegai Twins Full Metal Panic Full Metal Panic Fumoffu Kashimashi Dislike: School Rumble (It was good, but I just couldn't keep watching it for some god damned reason. I even tried giving it a second chance.) Last edited by Toxic; 2006-06-30 at 22:23. |

It would help some if we had an idea of what you've seen that you liked and didn't like.
For the "faint harem" style, you might try Lamune - it's kind of a slow paced, slice-of-life romance/comedy that switches back and forth between the characters as children and adults. Canvas 2 is also popular in the genre, though I personally can't stand it. Actually, the show you should watch is Ouran High Host Club. It's a reversed harem (one girl, many guys) with a lot of comedy and very little ecchi.

Examples... Huh... Well, that'll be tough.
Like: Mahoraba Girls Bravo Shuffle! I even tried giving it a second chance.) Now, that's quite a list, and I'm sure I missed a few too. Last edited by Toxic; 2006-06-30 at 22:23. |

Except it's already in the list .... you need glasses ... (luff ya physics).
Well, those shows were a bit more harem than I was thinking ... you might try Kage Kara Mamoru (ninja harems ftw!). I had a total brain meltdown and forgot to recommend Karin earlier, it has a lot of the same types of humor harems have (without the annoying actual harem) and is about a vampire girl (though she's nothing like Hazuki from TMP).

I might suggest you Midori No hibi. It has both romance and comedy and there is no harem nor ecchi (or maybe there was some ecchi... Can't remember =) ). Seems to fit your requirements perfectly.
There is also Ai Yori Aoshi. People seem to like this series , but I actually found it quite boring. Still, it is a romance\comedy with some ecchi\harem mix. |

Also, I just noticed Shakugan no Shana. If you liked Shakugan no Shana, you might give Fate/Stay Night a try. Like Shana it's primarily an action series, but it has comedic and romantic elements to it. EDIT: cut out the Midori no Hibi bit as I posted at the same time Toxic was posting.

Here's my list
I''s (The best Romantic/Comedy/Ecchi Manga I've known and read. 6Part OVA good too) Ichigo 100% (Don't watch the anime. Its that horrible) Suzuka (The anime and the manga are both very good, but do watch the anime first) Midori no Hibi (Anime skips some parts of the manga, but I don't mind.) Honey and Clover (Although definitely not a Harem, the romance and the comedy here will both make you laugh and cry - sometimes at the same time O_O) Love Hina (Watched a few episodes, its interesting XD) |

Some guys change their avatars everyday, so ... meh. I thought it was just another list given by some trying-to-be-helpful-guy, so meh again. Though what I really meant was that there was nothing on H&C on your first post, so I just shot it (among my faves, and the genre's right, so yeah).
Oh, and H&C II is coming on Thursday! YAY!

If you liked Chobits, I guess I'll make the obligatory DearS recommendation (think Chobits with Aliens instead of robots and you won't be far off) ... some people like one, some people like the other, maybe you're one of the ones who'll like both. Touch, Kimagure Orange Road, and Maisson Ikkoku would be considered the "classics" I suppose .... I think only KOR and MI are licensed. Another series that has a lot of the harem-style humor (slightly ecchi, mostly off color) without the actual harem is REC. It's about a voice actress who falls in love with a salaryman.

Romance + some action (not the main focus of the show though) + Very little dumb and pointless ecchi (there are some minor panty shots, not much else) + a lead guy who isn't an idiot, isn't indecisive, gets together with the lead girl from the start, and proves himself to be one of my favourite male leads + lots of other awesome stuff that most harem anime tend to do wrong.
And the name of this series? Narue no Sekai (Narue's World). One of my absolute favourite romance animes, and it's just a shame it's only 12 episodes. The romance revolves around the main character's relationship with each other, so it doesn't spend the entire 12 episodes with him trying to win her over, which I found so refreshing after all the Shuffle! and other romance harem animes recently with an indecisive male lead who can't make up his mind for 26 episodes |
