But she has a very different character. I really enjoy the manga, so I'm looking forward to this. I think it could work very well as an anime, especially with Kasai Kenichi's touch, as seen in Honey & Clover and KimiKiss.

Kasai Kenichi gives me confidence. But, Woland, why are you particularly pleased that Takayama Fumihiko is involved? It that mainly based on Rescue Wings? That did look like a good show, but I didn't watch more than a couple of episodes when it was on.

Yep Rescue Wing is a very good and underrated series capable to depict quite realistic, complex and mature characters (and situations) that you really don't see often (if never) in animation.
But I'm quite fond of most of the works in which Takeyama is involved: Rahxephon 19 is still my favorite episode of that series (and a very good one in general), Gunparade March is a series with quite good moment, especially one (too bad the main couple is just unbearable) and Gundam 0080 is the only gundam related series I really liked... and so on
Kasai need a good scriptwriter to work properly (I'd like to forget about that thing called Kimi-kiss) so that's why I'm pleased.

I think she looks like the girl from Sasameki Koto. Except their personalities are very different.

Also glad that the anime plans to captured the manga's character designs. They're just that beautiful not to animated.

Browsing around, and it looks like this is going to be the first voice acting job Takabe Ai, Fumi's voice actor is doing. It makes the wait all the more special to see how well she'll match the character.

Just seen the promo. It doesn't show any signs from the upcoming adaptation, just still images from the manga, and explaining the starting story. It's worth watching just for the outstanding piano piece.

The piano piece in that promo was gorgeous. This is one that I'm really looking forward to -- the manga is a wonderful read, and I'm hoping the anime keeps that soft, subdued nature in its adaptation. Just judging from those pretty little scans, I'd say it's a safe bet that it will.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for an adaptation of Hourou Musuko too, though. ;<

According to 2channel and Japanese Wikipedia, this appears to be the same Takabe Ai 高部あい as a 20-year-old actress and photo idol of that name, who has appeared in numerous TV dramas, some movies, and many times as a TV personality. She starred last year in a late-night supernatural comedy-drama called Guren Onna. Of the four main roles in the anime, she is billed first and Horie Yui last.

She must be the perfect voice actor for Fumi then. Makes me want to check her out all the more, though i won't and keep in the surprise factor for when we hear her as Fumi in the first episode.

It's not your fault. It's just inconsistency on their part. Some sources, like the Erotic FX magazine, have Takabe Ai billed first, others, like the official website, have Gibu Yuuko first.

It's not that it matters really, since the story focuses on both characters pretty much equally (although Fumi is more involved in the drama than Akira, who is more of a support character in that respect).
