Q: Episode 8!? Did I miss something or is it a typo?
A: Episode 7 has been announced as a "dvd-only" episode. Therefore, TV channels are skipping it, and so, we got episode 8 just after episode 6.

I would guess ep 7 would have nothing to do with the overall plot?? (would be really bad taste if they purposely left out 1 ep for DVD so that we can fill in the blank)

maybe that episode is just about one of the incidents that happen during their journey.but it should not have anything to do with the overall plot,since they are skipping it

So by 12 episodes does that mean 1-6 + 7-13 or is 7 included in that number? Which would mean light novel 2 is only 5 episodes long...

It's the "Lawrence tries to make a pass at Horo but fails miserably again" episode.

Rumour is that episode 7 is an original episode that has nothing to do with the plot from the novels! So people that buy DVD 4 get something extra! This is not a new scheme used to try to entice people to buy the DVD.

Actually, episode 7 may be a short story from volume 7 of the novels. But yeah, it is a ploy to get people to buy the DVDs. I'm buying them anyhow, just because I want to see SaW/WaS do well and get another season.

Damn! I feel just weird to find a Tail sexy! This episode made used of Horo's tail to distract the audience. Wag that tail Baby! The episode is pretty much of the same, with Horo discovering a merchant trying to cheat Lawrence. the rest was about Horo's gluttony, horo convincing Lawrence to buy something for her, More tail wagging and licking, and finally Horo showing a little jealousy when Lawrence is smitten by the beauty of a female shepherd.

Geez, Horo's a genius. A gluttonous one befitting of a wolf, but still...smart.

And Lawrence isn't half bad either.

A calmer episode to give us a rest before something more dangerous happens concerning that "shepherdess" (played by Nakahara Mai, I believe) in the next ep.

More Horo goodness: the tail, the beautiful drunkenness, the clever trickery, the weak gluttony...and Koshimizu Ami's brilliance.

Ami turned 22 last week, and I've put a couple of pics in the voice acting thread: one of a Horo cake the people as Spice and Wolf gave her, and one of her with Sanpei Yuuko and Sakakibara Yui.

Well they did a good enough of of making that shepherdess creep my right the heck out . You have some angry wolves and the girl isn't taken down, there is something to be concerned about there. Going to be an issue for Horo in more than one way.

Ah that tail is always great . Just swishing...back...and forth....

Ok I'm back. Good job spotting the scam by Horo. Plus watching her in the drunken aftermath is way too much fun.

Spoiler for ep8:

Very peaceful compared to the previous episode. Lots of Horo to satisfy fans, Lawrence, and trading.

Trading proves to be dangerous again... But once again, Horo turns the tide around.
I wondered what she would do with that water... Never expected she would dump the water on the table... Lawrence owes her there again.

No wonder "Correct Scales"...


And Nora really did appear this episode. Love Horo's reaction to Lawrence's reaction to Nora.

Also seems some "magician" is commanding wolves to attack people.
Well, no need to worry about other wolves, I think. At least a wolf this size surely can't match one this big.
And if that "magician" is Nora, mah... No worry?

Back to business as usual eh? And as usual my understanding is minimal

No matter...watching horo play with her tail is more than enough enjoyment for me (did she just use it as a chew toy ).

Now why is lawrence gobsmacked to see a female shepherd?
