unfair to whom? vino? if he was still in his youth i'd say i'm not too sure about shizuo's safety... he might go rail tracing on him... just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.

oh... i was hoping he became an immortal too *sigh* oh well... i'll go with firo instead.

If they do another season, it'll likely to be novel 4-6, which forms a story arc. Novel 4 took place 6 months after the 2nd novel, and it's now a new school year, with 3 significant new students, Aoba, and Izaya's twin sisters. The Russian mob, Yakuza, traditional biker gang all got involved as well as more super natural beings like Celty. It does end in a sort of cliffhanger, but a good place to stop. Supposedly the pacing is a whole lot better than the first 3 novels, and weird things continues to happen.

Dumb question, do novels 2 and 3 happen at about the same time then?
And I can't wait to see a bigger version of the cover for volume 8, I think it's the coolest cover out of the bunch.

Maybe this was posted in the thread, maybe not. I don't want to spoil myself with all the replies in the thread.

Does Kida know that Mikado is the founder/leader of the dollars, or does Mikado know that Kida is the leader of the Yellow flags?

So the whole Saika deal took around 4 episodes. Anyone else being optimistic that we might get more than just Kida's story by the end of the anime? I was hoping to see Hollywood in action =(, but Kida's arc just seems such a nice way to end the anime.

maybe they will add an anime original for the ending. From what I learned in this thread. Vol 4 is connected to the next volume while the 2nd and 3rd are directly connected or happen simultaneously.

Absolutely no chance of that whatsoever.
What will be in the two bonus episodes is another question, but the 24 episodes of the TV broadcast is basically exactly what is needed to do the third novel justice at the current pacing.

They have 7 episodes to do Yellow Scarves arc (novel 3). Bear in mind, just like Saika arc (novel 2), they already incorporate elements into the first 12 episodes. However, Yellow Scarves IS a longer story, as it has more grounds to cover.

No. Novel 1 took place right at the start of Mikado's first year in High School, he's in his 10th grade. Novel 2 took place 6 months later. Novel 3 took place immediately after novel 2, with a lot of flashback to events prior to novel 1.

Novel 4 took place at the start of Mikado's 2nd year in High School, and 5-6 flows immediately after that. So there is an appreciated gap of time between novel 3 and novel 4. It's flows logically that novel 4-6 can be adopted as the 2nd season.
