Oh for fraks sake... KyoAni to you I say a big Damn You!!!
Spoiler for Movie Ending:
That was indeed a very good movie even if it wasn't as amazing as the Haruhi one but I'm not complaining since it is very much in keeping with the show it leads off from. A few things in particular stood out though: that amazing depth of field they used for some scenes and that music video at the end were bloody good! The Abbey Road scene however was a bit too short for me. Blink and you miss it but after so many references that's really minor. Those scenes in the tube had me with the most amazing grin and their constant "engrish" had me laughing my socks off. It might not have the best KyoAni animation so far but the backgrounds were fantastic as usual and the plot was spot on even if it did feel more like a long episode of the show than a movie... Not that it's a bad thing mind you, I loved and was grinning every second of the way. 8.8/10 for me. PS: just something I cooked up: Spoiler for big image:

I believe you're thinking of "Hikari" (光) by Death Devil, it's on the second disc of Ho-kago Tea Time in MOVIE:

Man the movie was worth the wait. Really enjoyed it. It was a very fun ride. I was expecting them to play Utauyo!!MIRACLE in the classroom.
Also a shame that Samidare got cut short but they still did a pretty sweet job with U&I so I'm ok with that. Had a lot of laughs as well. |

I think that by having been in London, I might've made this change of scenery less exciting to watch for myself...
Some asshat opening the window while I try to sleep on the plane. God I hate that blinding light. Heathrow for example, I keep thinking of Terminal 5 heading to Terminal 3, and the traffic delay, the multiple rows of queue for security check... Air Canada (shudders) The tube, I remember how bloody expensive buying a ticket to go for only 4 stops can be. All that people, all that plasticky seats that you don't set to sit on cause someone else is on... Around the clock tower formerly called 'Big Ben', traffic ahoy. Ibis hotel, ahh that smell of the room. How can I forget that. London is only a backdrop for these girls. They are just adorable though. One thing that the movie really made me think of is the fact that these girls were using printouts, books and maps while we would use our tablet phones... time really is a brutal thing isn't it? Seeing Japanese tourists (with comparable proficiency in English as Hokago Teatime) using Google Translate, and being able to recall a time when the tourists would be doing what Azunyan's doing... anyone feeling nostalgic about the world before 2010? Last point. Sawako really loves these girls, and having flown herself to London for only a mere day is quite remarkable. I don't think it's possible to rationalize her using her banked points that way ... that round trip is $1000 worth if you're ponying up for the ticket. She's not mugi (worldwide priority shipping of a Korg Triton without betting an eye), and frankly, even if those banked miles would've expire soon, to put it on a 1-day excursion is incredulous!

Random note, but did anyone else notice how "Ohayou, Mata Ashita" wasn't in the movie anywhere? Even Ichiban Ippai got a nice little spot in the opening scenes. I guess that's alright, I do slightly prefer Ichiban Ippai, after all.

Quote:
"London Bridge, Thames River, London Tower ni London Eye, London London, yappari, Okonomiyaki and gohan, Watashi zensei wa Londonjin!" Bahaha, that's probably not 100% accurate, but hey. Loosely translated it'd be: "London Bridge and the River Thames, London Tower and the London Eye, It's London after all, London London, Okonomiyaki and rice, I may have been from London!"
