For those of you who didn't get the memo, Sword Art Online Progressive has been licensed by YenPress, and the first Volume should be out by next year.

How different are the manga and novel versions of Progressive? I didn't realize it had a novel version too, though it was manga only, so interested in how different they are since it seems YenPress got both.

The manga in the earlier chapters mostly just added some dialogue for comedy and such, and added a couple scenes. However, the artist has also begun to change up the larger sequences of events, and seems to be straying away from the novel.

I think (I readed only first chapter and just checked last one) manga adaptation is showing things from Asuna point of view and already skipped some material ("Intermission - Reason for the Whiskers" with Argo).

EDIT: And like Rageth said it's adding fillers.

It doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of Alice, either.

I don't care how they release it. I don't live in the US or anywhere close so the only way I can get the translations is through the internet. But now that it's licensed, nope, probably no more SAOP at all... It's just not fair

If you want to import SAO try this website: http://www.bookdepository.com/ I never actually used it, but I heard it's good option.

Huh.... and it doesn't cost as much as I would've expected. Hmm... Well, I have fan translated novels downloaded up to volume 7 so I guess I'm not in a hurry yet, but this will do me good when Progressive gets published. Thanks

The publisher removed all info saying SAOP novel's Feb24 release from their site, but added SAOP manga's page saying that it'll be released by Jan20

It's just a numbering thing, WEB version "chapters" is labelled by Chinese translators. Part '31' and so on is from the raw text, ie 'part 31 of the entire Alicization story'.
