Naze is an artificial Minus, she made herself into one rather than being one originally/naturally turning into one.
Really at this point I wonder if being a Minus or not really matters when it comes to winning or losing. |

It seems to me that there's some obscurity regarding whether any Minus (aside from Kumagawa) is actually "fated" to lose at all. From what we were given to understand the most frightening/repulsive aspect of Minuses was not their actual abilities, but rather their twisted personalities which allowed them to hurt others by second nature. For most general Minuses, their condition was not that they were "fated" to lose but that they never tried to win in the first place.
If you remember, not every Minus was presented as being calculated to inherently lose. Prior to her battle, one of Shibuki's established features was explicitly that from among the Minuses, it was expected that Shibuki winning was actually possible. Shibuki herself, although being named as one of the "strongest" Minuses, seemed to have no special features except that she had full control over her Minus ability. However, the way the story progressed it seemed like the reason victory was supposed to be possible for Shibuki was not because she had control over her Minus, but rather the nature of her Minus itself (opening "old wounds", which was described as an unstoppable weapon against any living adversary). Furthermore consider that Kumagawa himself is actually the only Minus to have been shown as cursed by coincidental factors (i.e. bad luck in games, poor election results) which prevented him from winning, rather than simply being used to losing as an aspect of Minus personality. Given these factors, it seems to me that the "will never win" effect actually applies not to Minuses in general (when Minuses are just environmental/externally caused abilities, as demonstrated by Naze), but only Kumagawa specifically (especially considering, that most of the "when will he win"/"why do I always lose" characterization with respect to Minuses has only been focused on Kumagawa in particular). Note in particular that the "Minus" and "Plus" terminologies have largely been used to describe certain types of personalities, whereas original Flask Plan characters like Miyakonojou, Takachiho, etc. were classed only as Abnormals, based on their abilities. Plus != Abnormal, so along the same lines, we may have to separate Minus personalities (i.e. which supposedly always lose/are used to losing), and Minus abilities. I think it is entirely possible that, to the extent that they are not limited by Minus personalities, any other Minus aside from Kumagawa has no "in-universe" factors which restricts them from winning. |

Y'know I just realized that this is actually pretty close to the 7th Zaregoto book. Especially if Nienami really does end up helping the student council group. Actually, if it does go the Zaregoto route I worry for what happens after they beat the suitors >_>
