ZZ isn't going anywhere. Despite it not having the greatest reputation eve it is still very popular as is Judau. They won't ever be dropping ZZ, not only but while New Translation does mess with a few things it certainly doesn't ZZ from happening as a whole, just a few specific changes.

Also Shin Mazinger will only last for so long. Z in it's original form along side Great is far to popular to just drop. AThe combo of Z/Great/Ufo Robo will assure that they will be used again. Plus if we ever do see the rumored reboot of Gren or Shin Great then we will see the same thing with others taking a back seat for a while. This is nothing new, they are just finally getting enough mainline series shows (Gundam, Z, Macross, Getter) that they need to start replacing and letting others breath and rest for a time.

Well yeah, it isn't going anywhere. Since it doesn't seem to be getting into a new SRW for awhile, NT seems to be the thing if they're UC. Or Unicorn whenever it fills up may by the sole UC representation for a while. It's sorta like how Endless Waltz was thrown into every SRW it could get in while Wing TV was dropped for the longest time til the Z saga.

Z in its original form hasn't been in many SRW games in a while. It's usually just the Mazinger Z from Mazinkaiser. Though K had Mazinger Z but K was a disappointment as was Mazinger Z since it isn't as cool as Mazinkaiser which lead to them dropping it fast for Mazinkaiser again. With Shin around there's like no chance of ever getting the Original Mazinger Z again, just Mazinger Z of Mazinkaiser which is way different. Even that will have to compete with Mazinkaiser SKL.

Both started off better than many Unicorn novels. I'll have to search harder for lifetime sales for the Teardrop and Glory stuff but those are good sales for Gundam. Gundam mostly profits off of model kits and DVD/Blu ray. Everything else is just extra money.

That said, I have to wonder about how they hold because there was alot more hype at the start then we generally see now. I would like to see the comparision between book 5/6 of FT or 2 of GoL compared to the latest OO release.

It was replaced by Shin Mazinger Z in the sequel which will also be the Mazinger representation for Z3 considering important plot points. Such as tying Baron Ashura from Shin as a major player for the upcoming battle with Baal.

Over on MAHQ's facebook we've been batting it back and forth for the past 24 hours, we've actually figured out it would be easily doable for the Japanese, costly but if they produced two versions one for military use and one for private sector use it could be very profitable for the Japanese government. Power source wise it would be most likely to see either a fossil fuel version like the Anf from 00, or a battery powered suit like from seed. It would basically fill the role of a 60 foot tall walking tank that has an intimidation factor but unless air superiority is under their control it would be a big fat target for an aerial attack.

Though I think ANN found the story out before Kotaku if I'm right...

Given there is no FT, this would have to be GoL right? If so, this is a HUGE change not only for the relationship between Heero and Relena but Heero's character as a whole.

Or well it could be depending on how they play it. It could be that they are trying to bring the story more in line with the kind hearted boy that Heero was described as by Doctor J. Still very unexpected.

I still have to see it for myself, but I guess it's better than Heero telling Relena he wants to kill her all the time. And she chasing after him even though he said he'd be killing her.
