If they want two more months, they have two more months. We've all been through Valve and Blizzard times, this is easy. And I'd rather they take more time than release shite.

Too bad, huh. I was so handsome in there.

Not to mention that mod's never going to be done. They took at least a year for Athkatla alone. A for effort though, good honest work being done there.

The FAQ at the official site has been updated and it now list November 30 as the release date. Probably old news to some, but posting it here for those that weren't aware like me.

Quote:
When will Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition be released?

The PC release is November 30 2012, the Mac and iPad releases are going to be as close to that as possible and the Android release has not been determined.

The Wiki says that DLC will be made available at some point, and I have started to wonder if the new content will be playable from the very beginning.

This is from the link you sent:
Quote:
The PC and Mac version with be $20 and includes all the DLC
So I am thinking that the "one connected to the Bhaalspawn story" will be in the game at the start. Then one of the DLC will have the other story.
Somehow this makes sense to me, just because the Bhaalspawn story will be very interesting for many fans, then a brand new story. Just what I think though.

I could be completely wrong and that all the new content that they have mentioned will be in the game at the start and then brand new stories will be added as DLC.

I just checked the the official forum more carefully and noticed this:

Quote:
BG:EE will be available from Beamdog for Windows based PCs, Apple's App Store for MacOS and iOS, and Google Play for Android tablets.

The game will launch at $19.99 (pre-order for $17.99) for Windows and MacOS, and $9.99 for iOS and Android. The pricing differences between platforms come down to the PC/Mac getting all the DLC content for free and iOS/Android having it as ingame purchases.
And this:

Quote:
BG:EE will be supported post-ship through several DLCs.

There are plans for both free and paid-for DLCs, though free DLCs will be the majority. The new NPC Rasaad, and the new adventure The Black Pits, will be free for all platforms.

What platform are most people playing it on? I have ordered it for PC just because I don't have Tablet/Android.

Same for me. I prefer the ones from BG2 far more than those from the first game; specially for characters like Imoen.

Spoiler for Portrait:

That one? If you ever played Dragon age origins it feels like Leliana the ranger is very similar to her.

Spoiler for Portrait:

Last I checked, there was a slight delay on the release and people were also having problems with the download.

Probably best to wait till tomorrow.

*Accesing the official site (forum) is also troublesome at this point.

I like it, although I can't compare it to the original because I never played the original. They redid the opening cinematic. Some folks were upset about that.

But it's a game. It's interesting. It's hard in ways that modern RPGs are not (for instance, you can go for hours and hours and hours before you level up even once, especially if you start off playing a magic-user like I did). Is that bad? I'm sure some people would say so. Other people would call it "different" or "a challenge." How well can you survive as a level 1 character in a party of level 1 characters? The more people with you the better your chances of surviving, but the longer it will take you to level up (XP is split among party members, so the more people you've got, the less XP each personally gets). Can you juggle your reputation so that it's high enough to get you the "good" dreams and the "good" powers but low enough that your "evil" party members don't leave? Can you strategize encounters, when running in and attacking everything in sight will just get you all slaughtered? Are you patient?

It's a different kind of game. Playable, and I'm having fun with it, but... it's different.

Still the same game, ahead of its time. Loving it, I am using a evil party and have the new character Dorn Il-Khan, his voice work is top notch.
