This anime caught my interest. Not only it reminds of Infinite Stratos and Angelic Layer, it reminds me of how funny and awesome the anime can be at the same time. I will start watching this anime from now on and I shall see how it goes.

I'm loving the first episode. Good loyalty, good explanation of what is going on. Great beginning to introduce the characters!

LOL So this is what happens when you combine Hand Maid May and Infinite Stratos together into a series. I can understand how some could attribute some resemblance to Angelic Layer, but the only major attribute with that series is the competition battles. This series definitely has more of the feel of Hand Maid May, and the battle suit designs are practically rip-offs of Infinite Stratos. I really do miss Hand Maid May, and wished that they made more before the company went bankrupt.

So this seems like a fun slice of life series, with some battles in between. I would have preferred that they did not have doll-like joints design, but oh well. This will be my "just watch and enjoy" series for the season.

I thought it was a pretty cute opening episode. Certainly can feel a few series that they drew on here. Not much to say about the lead to this point since we haven't seen that much of him, seems like a good enough guy though.

A cute trio (with a new one showing up at the end there). Certainly got a feel for their personalities in a hurry and is kind of fun how the action gets mixed in. Should be good fun to watch this series.

Correction: Busou Shinki predates Infinite Stratos by at least 3 years. The Shinkis came first

Having little dolls unpack all your stuff and clean your toilet with your toothbrush

This seems like Infinite Stratos and Chobits had a anime kid

Unpacking all those boxes and cleaning the house would have been a full day's work for three normal-sized people. Those are some seriously industrious dolls, there.

I completely didn't notice on my first watch that the Shinki's names were in the OP, Ann, Hina, Lene and Ines huh?

I'll echo the above, I definitely wish I had one.

i don't know if the Microman manga & anime series based on one of TakaraTomy's action figure toylines fits with this type of genre, but those little guys are not even man-made in origin & even not from this world but a race of tiny alien robotic beings who crash landed on our planet, whom almost everybody mistook them for high tech advanced talking & moving toys made by some random local company..... hilarity ensues

except that they are more mecha musuko than musume, there are still females though, & in the latest current lines, some of their powersuit equipment looks suspiciously like something out of a certain animal ears & tails pantsu wearing magical pilot girl anime....... whut? XD

Might be too early to tell, but still going to wish the tv series was more like the OVA.

The interaction between the kid and his shinki was pretty cute and heartwarming in the OVA (Plus, it seem much closer to Angelic Layer because it showed kids in competing in battles with their shinkis).

Seems like a fun show. The focus seems to be mainly on the Shinkis, considering at this point we haven't even been told the MC's name. The combat is well done, but a bit boring at this stage. Might just be because I've watched too much mecha combat, but still, it's be nice having something to set it apart from the others fighting-wise.
Kinda disturbs me how.............................................." devoted" the Shinkis are to their master though. And what the hell was the MC doing to Arn under the covers at the beginning?

General observations:
1. Yeah, I know animes like this maintain realism like I maintain a healthy income (read: not at all), but seriously, how much do these 15cm tall dolls weigh? At that leverage, most people would need to use all their strength to flip a knife into a box with that penetration, and these robots can do it by sitting down? I'm pretty sure that exceeds the density of any material know to man. I'm just gonna assume they're running the whole "set in an alternate universe where Newtonian physics do not apply" thing.

2. Okay, what the hell is Lene made from? Seriously, dat BOUNCE.

3. Did anyone else find it funny how, during the search for the letter, Arn was like: "You two go left, I'll go right", and they still all ended up in the same place?

4. So apparently these 15cm tall robots eat cake and drink tea. Where does it go? Kinda makes you wonder just how anatomically correct they are.

The pilot episode was good; the battle segments were awesome (especially the one with the Strarf at the beginning), and the slice-of-life moments weren't too bad, either. I really like the atmosphere of this show.

The OP and ED are only 'alright', but I'm sure they'll grow on me with each episode.

Arn is definitely my favourite Shinki out of the four. I love how the tips of hair are red as opposed to being blonde/yellow like the rest of her hair.

No doubt these dolls are heavy (as in metal heavy) and the knife might be made from a light carbon compund (diamond like?) which could easily carve cardboard. I mean, am I the only one that saw an infomercial about a cooking knife that could cut lead pipes?

No doubt they are equipped with GPS (and have shared their tracking keys) and cellular (g3 or g4?) communication so no doubt they can communicate thoughts and even audio and video data.

Is is a well known fact that living dolls consume copious amounts of tea and cake (see Rozen Maiden). I think they internally burn cake and other food they consume and produce CO2 (which they require to talk IMO, otherwise their voices would not be loud enough for a human to hear) and the h20 must be eliminated as water vapor (yeah, their farts are pure and clean gaseous h20).
