Yes, but as pointed out by the translator's, they are only using "girlfriend" as a tentative translation for the word "kanojo". Kanojo has a connotation of 'lover', 'sweetheart', or 'girlfriend' but has a literal definition of something like 'that girl'. Unless something has changed since the first time it was translated as girlfriend, we do not have any confirmation that this is actually the status of Zen and Ajimi's relationship.

I'm guessing stuopidget may be reading from the raws, which means he wouldn't have seen CxC scans' tentative interpretation of the meaning. I think people should understand that it is just a guess for now, and refrain from extensively speculating on the basis of it.

If you see my other post i have never given the certainty that it was Zen's girlfriend, but only that they had some kind of relationship seen Kumagawa reactions .
For this reason I hope that the next chapter will give us some more info about that.

Yeah I read about this as well.
Now that I think about it , it is strange that Hitomi is so quiet about the possible death of Zen and during the Zen death in cap 70 and 71 , everyone was angry and sad (especially Medaka) except her.

Zenkichi was somehow "lent" the ability to see through others' perspectives ("Parasite Seeing") by Ajimu Najimi when he died after Kumagawa "never was"-ed* his eyesight.

Hitoyoshi's mom tries to get Kumagawa to show some emotion - "even a fraction" of that angry face from chapter 71 - by pretending to not care about his attention-grabbing antics.
It drives Kumagawa to tears of blood.
He says it's because Hitoyoshi's mom was his first love/crush, and that she's probably the only person that could move him emotionally aside from Ajimu Najimi - his last love/crush. (Hitoyoshi's mom acknowledges pretty much all of Kumagawa's musings this chapter as the truth (cue to readers to just read it as exposition), and the love tidbit is supported by the last time Kumagawa made an angry face - when he realized Najimi's intervention on Hitoyoshi's behalf).

Ajimu Najimi was the student council VP under Kumagawa during middle school. According to Kumagawa, she was charming and intelligent (almost Medaka-like by description) and was the one who made it possible for Kumagawa to run student government with a 0% approval rating. According to Kumagawa, Najimu had a whole bunch of seemingly magical abilities, including "Parasite Seeing".
He talks to Hitoyoshi's mom about how he was worried that he only liked Najimi because she was cute, instead of loving her for her personality and stuff, and that he literally tore off Najimi's face, just to check. (To his delight, he still loved her just as much.)

He then wonders if Najimi, with her "Parasite Seeing" ability, understood him; since Medaka found him, beat him half to death and banished him from the school immediately afterward, he never met Najimi again except "in his dreams". So Kumagawa may have almost been counting on her ability to see from his perspective.

For some reason, nobody (except Kumagawa) seems to remember Najimu's name or identity at this point; just the vague notion that Kumagawa did something horrible to someone, that made Medaka beat him up.
Afaik, Kumagawa refers to Najimi as "kanojo" not in reference to any relationship status, but simply because he prefers to refer to Najimu as "her" or "she" instead of by name.

There's no hint to what happened to Najimu after the face incident, except that Kumagawa and Hitoyoshi evidently meet her in the classroom (face intact) when they die - and Kumagawa now wants to see if they can both end up in that room together.

*For lack of a better word, Kumagawa's ability, "All Fiction", is to make it so that something never was - as if taking back a lie. Kumagawa says that he used an ability that Najimi gave him as the basis for creating "All Fiction", which matches the fact that he gained the ability recently. According to Najimi (in Hitoyoshi's head), it's a causal ability instead of a temporal ability - which I guess is an explanation for why Kumagawa can't "never-was" somethings he made "never-was", and that doing things like making it so that "never was"-ing a something doesn't erase the memory or fact that it was - so "healing" doesn't negate the attack, and "taking away eyesight" doesn't mean Zenkichi was now born blind.

Although I love Beelzebub, I still say hell yeah!!!!

It might be the only time it does though, since the anime could push it up a couple thousands later on.

And MB was almost in the top five in this week ToC as well.

Beezlebub's a volume ahead and has been pushed much more heavily by Jump so it really should be outselling Medaka Box, and it did after the second week anyway...

But yeah Beezlebub Vol 10 Vs Medaka Vol 9 will be with anime bump for Beezlebub, should push it past 100k opening week, really should be higher than 110k... Sket Dance should also jump to that level once the anime bumps it up leaving Medaka and Kuroko behind until they too get their anime shows.

Look @ Toriko and Mago which were fairly even, now Mago sells 50k more in first two weeks thanks to the anime, I except Toriko to surpass Mago once it airs, especially since it's the new lead in for One Piece anime.

Good to see Medaka Box finish 6th for this week as well, really hope they wait until the current arc is over before going ahead with the anime... the anime needs Kumagawa... hope they zip through the initial parts...

This was one of my favorite chapters out of the entire series so far.
Kumagawa shows anger several times during this chapter, or at least I think this shows his face and obviously every time he looks or speaks with Zen.
Zen was great during this chapter has been able to change Emukae, in a nutshell it seems that using the view given to him by Ajiumi, Zen has understood Emukae therefore acted accordingly, now I do not know if her minus power is changed thanks to Zen that accept and understand her .
but she was really happy at the end was even moved ,Medaka even had a smile of relief at the end.
But I must admit Zen is crazy to be will understand by Emukae he hold her hands with the result that you can imagine thankfully not exaggerated as it seems at the minus has stopped or changed for this .Thats why im not sure whether her minus is change in plus or she just learn how turn of her power.
Too bad the scene was ruined by Kumagawa that has t attacked both Emukae end Zen. one screw against Emukae and 3 screw to Zen ...
Kumagawa plan has finally come true,and the chapter ends with the explosion. (Because the countdown reached zero).
So it looks like the next chapter wee see again Ajiumi ,and perhaps all three in the same class, I must say that it would be interesting to see Zen, Ajiumi and Kumagawa together simultaneously.

First off.... LOL at Zen's mom with the oversized chainsaw. It was nice to see the Zen and Emukae moment there before Kumagawa ruined it.... even Medaka was in tears. We haven't seen them actually die, so maybe Zen managed to escape somehow, but I guess we'll see. It's the first time Hiromi actually seemed to show concern for Zen as the timer finished counting down. Next chapter should be good.

The chainsaw, I don't mind. Blowing him up at the end, kinda saw it coming. They were so focused on the fight, they forgot what the purpose of the battle was and now its ended in a draw. What gets me is what happened right before the explosion.

Zenkichi touched Mukae's hands. Her Raff-Rafflessia started to rot Zenkichi's hands, it got through the first layer of skin....and then it just stopped. Either Zenkichi's touch somehow gave her control over her Minus, or somehow he shut it off. I guess that something she's always wanted, to be able to feel the touch of another person, and thanks to Zenkichi she can. Maybe this is what would have happened if he had let her touch him the first time.

Kumagawa erased the corrosion and erased Mukae's Minus at the end there, and told them to bring her back to a regular class. So apparently destroying the key's against the rule, but erasing the keyhole isn't, so now both are gonna explode. Clever little trick.

Are you sure Kumagawa annulled Zen's "Parasite Seeing"?
Because if that's the case it's a shame it was the perfect power for Zen, I hope that somehow he can used "Parasite Seeing" again.
However I am curious if Zen remember anything after this event because this time he ended up in Ajumi's class with Kumagawa.
I wonder if during their discussion , something came out about their past relationship.
About Zen's idea ... depends if he remembered Ajumi maybe some friend in common? (Just an idea thrown out)
