well look on the bright side...in the real world the Byakugan would definately be the better choice for that reason alone It just boggles me why Kishimoto hadn't utilized maybe some range attacks for the Hyuga Clan...maybe throwing chakra needles to attack chakra points...

Don't get me wrong. I curse the Sharingan. I just say the movie showed it. And since a movie is an expensive thing that is part of the product, yet not part of the storyline, it is to a certain extent cannon material or at least not fanfiction

I agree to an extent...I separate the two...I think the anime world is more of an alternate world...so to the anime it would be canon to the anime only, but not the manga, which should still be consider the true version of the story...for example you have dragon ball z end with the manga, but the anime continues the story with gt and an even better example is full metal alchemist...you have the anime story, which completely breaks away from the manga, and than you have the novels all of which I consider alternate universes...but the main story or canon universe is normally the manga...we do the samething in the U.S....DC animated universe for example is a separate universe in the DC universe but their canon universe is the ones in comic books.

Byakugan is shit now. It would be shittier than sharingan in real life to. Imangne having the power to turn anything to cinders that you can see. Imagine having the ability to warp things to an alternate dimension. Imagine being able to see things in slow-mo like that guy off wanted. Now imagine having a telescope in your eyesockets and makes them look like you got cataracts. Byakugan was a credible threat in part one. But so was dying from a kunai or a shuriken.

Byakugan is still useful. See who discovered Danzou's secret plan. I don't think a Byakugan user is to be taken easily. Most nins would still lose their lives at the hand of a Hyuuga. Just not being able to deal with a MS user doesn't make Byakugan useless.

Well, I don't think Pain was exactly the best example of a Rinnegan user. Consider that the Rinnegan was what the Sage of the Six Paths inherited when he sealed the Jyuubi within him, and then split his powers between his two sons, giving birth to Mokuton and the Sharingan. The true Rinnegan was probably a mix between the Rinnegan we saw and the Sharingan. By definition, that would be more powerful than the Sharingan on its own as it could use more capabilities than the Sharingan.
