Likewise!

I hope this project doesn't die quickly the way Getter Robo and Mazinger Z did.

That's being done by Hero Legends, but they are doing one ep a month it seems. Not that I'm complaining. I'm happy that's it being done at all. Also, Mazinger Z was being worked on by TN and WWP till apparently ADV told they that they suggest for them to stop subbing it.. Which is really cool if ADV does indeed license it or is even close to being licensed and sucks if they never do pull through and WWP and TN stopped for no reason.

I know - I just meant that two other similar Super Robot shows had been started by various groups in recent times but their releases had halted abruptly not long after they started.

A-Classic have a good history of following through on their projects which is why I'm extra happy to see Great picked up.

Anime Classic is developing a very good reputation. Well atleast in my book. Nice to see that up to ep 31 of God Mars is in the editing process.

One of my friends watched this series when he was young. He is looking for the english version of the theme song. Is the music from this file's intro in english? Thanks for any info.

Great Mazinger has a special place in my heart. It is the VERY first anime I have ever seen.

I was only about 4-5 when I was in Taiwan. I specifically remember watching a bunch of episodes of GM and no one could pry me away from the tv. It left a big impact on how I watched anime, cartoons, even entertainment in general.

Anime-Classic, thank you so much for helping me relive one of my earliest and most cherished memories.

glad to see people enjoying our releases
Great Mazinger ep 2 is coming soon

and for those who don't know what it is (evil people!!):

Summary: First came Mazinger Z, the Fortress of Iron. It came, it saw, and it fought lots of ridiculous mechanical monster robots sent by a man named Dr. Hell.
It had a long, enjoyable 92 episode run, but that wasn't enough. People (specifically Toei) wanted more, and so Great Mazinger was born, a robot kept top secret during Mazinger Z's story, built to stop the advances of the Mycenae Empire, the ancient underground race of monster people whose technology Dr. Hell had borrowed.
Will Great Mazinger be enough to defeat the seven armies of the Mycenae!? Will Boss ever pull off anything worthwhile!? And what about Kouji!? Find out this and more by watching!

many people consider this show to be better than the original Mazinger Z for various reasons, personally i just love anything with more Boss and Boss Borot

SUPER DELUXE HIGH POWER GOLDEN DELICIOUS MAGNUM BOROT PUNCH!!!!!!

I was happy to see that they kept the Boss theme and that the series had the same awesome feel to it that the original Mazinger Z had. When I first saw that you guys were going to work on a 50 + ep series I was crossing my fingers for this one. It's truly one of the best things you could of decided to sub. Great job!

Hopefully not just SRW fans, but more mecha fans will be watching the show.

Old school mecha that once saved the anime industry by driving it into a mecha golden age should not be forgotten.

Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of people will give this a chance. Hardcore mecha fans certainly will, but most other people would be turned off by the retro designs and old animation, and the monster-of-the-week formula. I'm certainly going to be following this though.

yeah but I tend to not to care about new anime fans anyway.
A classic is a classic, the retro style is what turns me on. I'm tired of that moe crap.
That's why I skip almost 90% of animes. I can only watch series that has a distinct art style. Not the generic anime maid or something.

Heh, generally anime fans are divided into many fractions, but I grew up watching oldschool, all the way to the newschool.

I think one should embrace all and not just side with one.

But still, alot of people don't know how important mecha is to the anime industry. Just Mazinger itself has revolutionised and reformed the anime industry. The most popular moe trait, Tsunderes, came from Sayaka-san herself.

But this is Great Mazinger, its about the Battle Pro himself. MAJIINGAAA BUREEEDOO!!!

So true!

Also don't forget the wacky and unique designs of the baddies here, from a giant Dark General to the underlings.

Mazinger is a true classic in the true sense of the word.

But it'll be hard to watch Great Mazinger without knowing exactly what happened on the Mazinger Z story, is there any compilation movie around? I'm really curious to know what happened at the end of Mazinger Z.
