Considering how many people died there (and now here, too), and that scene where she saw the pendant with a random soldier and his daughter, I'm certain all of these things are pushing her to the edge into doing something to try to stop more casualities.

Anyhow, it was a pretty great episode, and from the preview pictures it does seem like Biki is free from Gungnir's "fusion", so she might not be at risk anymore? As a Wild ARMs 2 fan, I gotta say I'd love if she somehow got ahold of Maria's Black Gungnir and her new Symphogear was reminiscent of KnightBlazer, haha. One can dream ;_;

Yeah, I think Chris's actions here aren't out of character. Could argue that she's just used to taking things onto herself and going it alone. Might also say that she was kind of pushed into this direction. Before Tsubasa and the others were hiding the truth of Hibiki's condition from her and even in the previous episode she was somewhat brushed off during her attempt to talk things out with Tsubasa. Sure she put up an air of not being as serious with how she was eating, but it might have contributed.

You throw in the guilt she feels over Solomon's Cane and her connection to events in the first season and she might feel it's necessary to do something reckless on her own. Get the trust of Ver and the others so she can reclaim that damn thing and cut off the Noise problem. Enough people have died because of that thing.

And yeah as a Wild Arms fan that would be pretty cool

now i just realized too late since the 1st season first aired, Hibiki not only does share a same name with a certain musical themed Precure character, she also shared it with another Toei show character,

the musical themed Kamen Rider series Kamen Rider Hibiki!! the titular character who is some kind of fire element type Oni who's armed with a pair of drumsticks & a microphone sword-thing

I went through komica wiki's entry on Symphogear yesterday and can't help grinning at what I found there. I'm not if any of what I'm about to write here has been posted by anyone before (my apologies if it's so), but anyway, hope you'll have as much fun as I had =3.

Zwei Wing was originally named ツガイウィング (Tsugai Wing) during the planning stage. Tsugai means pair (Google Translate also gives "mate" as one of the possible results...). In any case, the idea behind the name reminds the same: a duo as inseparable as the wings of a bird =3.

According to one of Agematsu's tweets, the original concept he came up with was to have the character summon deities that would possess them, lending them their powers. It was Kaneko who suggested the current idea of using metallic artefacts that react to music, which Agematsu felt was a pretty neat idea and, well, the rest is history =3.

Tbh, we as fans should be thankful that Agematsu had adopted Kaneko's idea, considering that the deities related to the Symphogears so far are mostly bearded oji-sans....

Kaneko provided most of the names for the songs as well as the BGM, while Agematsu named most of the special techniques. Also, it was Agematsu who suggested using cut-ins during the techs, which was adopted after a staff vote.

The original plans did not have the characters sing as they fight; it was just the good ol' play-the-BGM. The credits for changing this goes to S1's director Ito Tatsufumi, who had a misunderstanding over what he read in the project proposal. But because Agematsu and Kaneko thought that this was fine too, Ito's mistake was accepted over the original plans and so it went on from there =3.

Because of this, netizens nicknamed this trait as 急に歌うよ (singing all-a-sudden), a pun on Nana's way of singing 君に歌うよ in the first OP (it goes "kimi ni utau yo" but when Nana sings this line, it sounds like "kyuu ni utau yo", which is of course the aforementioned singing all-a-sudden )

Except for the live scenes in the series (two so far, incidentally both involving Tsubasa), all the songs (especially those sung during battles) are sung live during the dubbing sessions. According to a NewType interview, Kanade's VA, Takayama Minami, came up with this on a whim, following which she proceeded on to do just that . As a result, this "tradition" carried on for the rest of S1 and onwards to S2 as well.

Because of this, before Hikasa took up the role as Maria, her manager warned that "voicing this work will be very tiring"

As some might already know, the official website is designed by Kaneko's company WITCHCRAFT, which, to put it simply, have a lot of fun mainly in the form of funny Easter Eggs. For example, if you check the sources for the Next Episode Preview pages, you'll find that silly notes in them, like  (Homerun level mysterious poem),  (Bamensha?) and  which are found in the preview for episode 6. Occasionally we'll even get some comments on the images too, like "kawaii" for this one.

The title images are even wackier. Check their files names (easiest way is to open them in a new tab) and we'll have uneventful ones like title01_gungnir.png to lolwat ones like title07_gohanganakerebasobawoubaebaiijanai.png (there's a quite a few that mentioned gohan for some reason =3). The latest (for episode 11) is title11_gekitounosuesaigoninokottanohanantotobiiri sankanokazanarigenjurosandesunandeossangatatakatte irundayo.png

According to Kaneko on WITCHCRAFT's blog, S2 episodes 1~4 was written without first going through with the production crew. It was only from episode 5 onwards did he actually sat down with them for discussions. At that time, Kaneko was having problems with the story and the production staff, with Director Ono Katsumi on the lead, put forth a lot of suggestions and ideas, including remarkable ones that surprised Kaneko so much that he literally went "Seriously?!". Due to this, the direction that S2 will be heading to might not as what Kaneko has envisioned in the first place.

It seems Tsubasa's personality and habits down to her personal dis/likes are based on her VA, Mizuki Nana. One would then wonder if Nana's room is as messy as her character's....

Japanese fans generally concur that Symphogear is similar to the Showa Kamen Riders. Even the staff admits that the series' style leans towards this direction. Hibiki's S2 design is probably another nod towards the Riders' trademark scarfs.

According to Kaneko, a lot of Prof. Ver's lines come from Sugita's trademark ad-libbing (sauce). Also, one of the Prof's lines in episode 3 "人の身に過ぎた" sounds exactly like "人の身に杉田" (hito no mi ni sugita) and is widely circulated amongst the Japanese fanbase.

At the end of the day, Symphogear is pretty much the creators + the production staff + voice actors all having a lot of fun

Btw for those curious about the Shenshou Jing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinju-kyo . Another interesting thing is the place where Miku's relic was found: Mount Minakami. Besides being the site on which the fictional Waldstein Academy (from the anime Occult Academy) stood, it was also where the Japanese government had planned to relocate the Imperial compounds in a worst-case scenario towards the end of WWII.
