A mascot for the mascot?

Now that Anime Suki has an official mascot isn't it about time that she gets a cute and mass-marketable mascot of her own?

Would anyone be against another art contest to find a... creature... to compliment her?

While I cannot speak for all my fellow moderators, I have no interest in finding a mascot's mascot and I doubt any of the others will be interested either. We think that Kairin is wonderful all on her own without needing a cute little piggie (with bizarre non-animal behaviors like a love of breasts) to keep her company. Though we wouldn't be adverse to a cute piggie joining her for a picture or two, the piggie will not be an official part of our site.

It's a shame I cant draw anything; If I could, I would love to participate in a 'Let Kairin cosplay characters from your favorite shows' competition.

That does sound like a lot of fun. I could imagine Kairin cosplaying as Akari or Yoko.

Piggies are overdone. Unless, that is, they are in ramen or subuta. Mmmm... kuro subuta.

Lightbulb SD Kairin

I liked SD Kairin, but the real win is Kairin in swimming suit. So I don't want any piggie next to her. It would look like Ranma 1/2 too much, don't you think?
Then, what about her handling weapons ( fantasy), or tools ( computering)?

how about Costumes to match the seasons or something?

I know the site I help moderate has just started using a seasonal banner theme going maybe kairin could have some type of clothes for a particular part of the year?

of course it won't be same across the globe but in the areas that have all 4 seasons.
(dang u warm area ppl *shivers* ~__~ )

on second thought we would constantly need someone who can draw to draw something so maybe not such a good idea =/

We don't have that, but there are a few images of her in different holidays, like Halloween for example.

(On a not very much related note)

This thread was at least useful for people (like me), who are not interested in the fan fiction section, to gain a chance to learn about the official mascot for AnimeSuki. I have always wondered about the elf (that I have seen used by many), but, never reached the level of intensity to question its identity. (Hopefully a part of my subconscious must have reached some kind of satisfaction)

Anyways, if that is the case, wouldn't it be more reasonable to use header images that include different versions of the mascot (or some artificial interactions with other popular characters within the same image to satisfy the desires of the artists)?

It certainly would be! That is easier said than done.

Are you suggesting a new banner contest?

That is true as I was planning to add "a much more challenging job" at the end of that post...I guess I was waiting for the responses...

Anyway, even though I don't know if this was discussed before, in other sections of the forum, but, I guess, the forum can give it a try. If I am not mistaken there is at least one Kairin based banner currently in use (I had to refresh the main page ~20 times to verify that, number 42, hopefully I got it right), so, if, for instance, you can use some kind of quota for Kairin based banners, I am sure you can increase the interest little by little. And, at this point, the more you can receive such good images on Kairin, the more you can come closer to the desired point. So, at the end, there won't be any loss.

Well, remember Hachune Miku? She's like a super deformed Hatsune Miku with a negi in her hand. Creative people could start thinking in that direction.
