Only in Gintama you have an episode about sharing food and fighting over it using dirty tactics and whatnot

On another note, I really hate how they're overusing the epic OST from the Gin Vs Jirochou ... to use it even in an episode like this.. :<

New music themes are expensive so it's no wonder. As for the episode 218th, it was really good. It's amazing that they've managed to make a 20 minute episode out of a 13 page manga chapter while a week ago they've made the same with 40 pages

. It only shows how most shounen work and artificially prolong episodes. And also shows why Gintama rocks. There are rarely fillers such as this and even if they are (like in this episode) they're great. Really liked this one.

BTW, I recommend reading Sorachi's one-shot Bankara which has been mentioned in this ep.

Watching 217 and I keep having to pause since Im laughing soooooo hard. Zura catching the fish was hilarious. This epi is awesome!

I didn't even notice there were fillers in this ep. Great stuff. I really enjoyed the Bankara one-shot, so I recommend it as well. Speaking of which, I love Sorachi' and the anime staff's self depreciating humor ("You're already slacking off now that the 4 devas arc is over?" "Super legend my ass! That gorilla doesn't fit in!").

Edit: I just checked the manga and this episode actually adapted two chapters. One was a 10 pages long chapter and the other the usual 19. There weren't any fillers as far as I can tell.

My very favorite aspect of Gintama is the fact they know theyre in a manga/anime

Shinpachi's "it was like this in the manga" line was hilarious XD You gotta thinkg the staff has a lot of fun when they can have their characters opening bash them in this

You're right, my bad. I remembered there was a shorter chapter with crab eating and thought that all was resolved in this one chapter.

This episode is a repetition of a 25 or 26th episode but it's still enjoyable. There were many great moments, excluding the ones you've mentioned the trick with candles cracked me up :].

Yeah, there is also Mister Ajikko, Cooking Master Boy, Addicted to Curry (this one only manga) and some other I don't know. But only Gintama is so hilarious

Very nice food fight with all sort of underhanded tricks. Gintoki even referenced the Nabe Shogun episode which was easily top 5 of the 200+ episodes so far

I preferred the episode with the hot pot though, I think that was much more awesome than this food fight, although this one had it's moments as well.

Though the best comedy episode in Gintama will always be the one with Bentendo OwEE

.. I wonder when, if ever, we get a comedy episode that will be even funnier than this one.

The Takeshi gag was great. The second story is shaping out to be amazing. Hedoro is back... with his whole family! And goddamn, they look scary. __________________
