Episode 1

Spoiler for Finally, episode 1!:

Well, there wasn't a whole lot of plot in this ep... Also, there was decidedly less ass-shaking and hip thrusting than last time! Aww, I'd been looking forward to how they're going to top that, but no such luck. I am disappoint, UtaPri. Still, I continue to be really sorry for the sound engineer who had to mix the concert scenes. XDD Imagine having to record and mix a bunch of girls screaming their hearts out in your studio. XDD

Anyway, this was basically a roll call, but it was a fun one at that, with everyone wasting no time to sekuhara Nanami right away. (and damn you, Otoya, you still can't say it! XD) From the STARISH introductions I liked Otoya's and Masato's the best, with Otoya's cuteness and Masa being hilariously melodramatic. XDD Natsuki continues to be pretty smooth, oh, I want to show you something cute, let me just pick you up and hold you close because that's... necessary... yeah. XD (And I had to lol at Natsuki going "I want the whole world to hear our song!" XD)

As for the senpai, I still don't really care about them, but at least Camus' intro was funny.

And so, after everyone is accounted for, we have the set-up for this season's plot. I wonder how Nanami is going to handle the obvious conflict of interests.

Btw, something I noticed even in the previous season: the show seems to have taken a liking to pairing Ren and Tokiya up, and we have rather concrete proof of this in the ending choreography... not very happy news for me! (since I like the Otoya & Tokiya and Ren & Masa pairs) Oh well.

The OP was a surprise actually. Wasn't expecting those guys to sing. Kotobuki can't sing for shit. But the other three aren't bad.


Basically this episode amounted to:

The Starfish guys basically saying to Haruka that they want to bone her in different ways. Otoya is still adorable but I still like Natsuki. Yes, Natsuki, you can hold me like that anyday, you big bipolar hunk....

Except Tokiya, who says, 'BUMP INTO ME'.

Meanwhile the QN guys are just:

Fabulous Blonde on Horse MORTAL DON"T LOOK AT ME........ok you have nice eyes.

Ai: I GOT A FUNNY FEELING IN MY CHEST WHYYYYYYYYY

Tatsuhisa Suzuki's character: ....................oops a leaf. The Sakura are blooming....

Kotobuki: LETS ENTER THE WORLD OF ADULTS TOGETHER!


And of course the real fucking star comes in at the end: Norio Wakamoto is a treasure.

So basically it's the Olympics and QN and the Fish are competing to sing?

The long awaited season 3 is finally here!
It was nice to see familiar characters again.
Wonder what obstacles lie ahead this time..
Looks like the guys are getting bolder towards Nanami.
It's about time they made a more aggressive move.
Very nice first episode.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of that either. It's not awfully bad, but it's a bit too conspicious and uncanny valley at times. If they wanted more fluid dance moves they should've just semi-rotoscoped some real guys dancing.

Also, this is nothing new, but they really should decide how tall the guys are. Their heights continue to be all over the place, with Natsuki being huge and Shou being small as the only constants.

I haven't watched s2 but thought I peep in and see what this series has become...and I lol'ed my way through ep 1. Everything is so ridiculously over the top it's funny.

I do like the saxophone music Ren was playing.

Finally got around to watching the first episode, and I loved it. It was basically just a reintroduction of all the characters. I have to say my favs were Natsuki, Masato, and Camus. I was practically in tears when Camus rode in on a white horse and then did that whole exchange with Nanami.

Okay, so this episode just wasn't as entertaining as UtaPri usually is, but whatever, we got to see a Shining Entrance with excited Ringo and deadpan Hyuuga again. Also, I think Camus officially became my fave in this series because out of all the guys, he embodies the spirit of UtaPri the most, lol.
