Why am I reminded of that Nobunaga the Fool anime from the first ep?

Seems this anime will be 24 episodes long based on BD/DVD listings.

I can't say it's good, but I like it. Plus you can't go wrong with readhead heroines.

The giant wall thing reminds me of "Attack on Titan" and quite appropriate that Eren's Japanese seiyuu is playing the lead guy.

This is more Gun x Sword than Code Geass, which is a good thing. Lots of silliness but the plot has potential. I like the concept that the mech's abilities are a manifestation of the user's convictions too, hopefully they do something interesting with that.

I was wondering how they could have recurring antagonist if losing a mech fight means automatic death, and it turns out the MC's ability is to not kill.

Watching that makes me ask - is mecha simply done? Are there just no more good ideas out there in the ether?

Rehashing old dusty ideas is much worse then being bit silly. Plus Sturgeon law ringed true any less fifteen years ago. With bit of luck this might be Keijo of Mecha genre.

Not quite good enough to fulfill my mecha craving, but it'll have to do, I guess.

Quite a decent show. Mostly likeable characters, some decent comedy and finally some fucking mecha again. Picked up, especially with the draught of mecha shows in the last years.

and how the mecha just 'materializes' is like how the Titan Shifters work, them picking Kaji Yuki to play the titular lead might not be just a coincidence.

Feels very much like a Sunrise show from the 2000's.

Episode 2 is up on Funimatoin.

Well, we got some storytelling on the life of Edgar Village. Every episode seems to dive a little bit deeper into the world setting.

Beside the MC, Elsha still stands out as the most noticable character although she can be a bit emotional. Can't blame her after what she said about the past though.

It seems this anime's pace slowed down more but with still the usual humor. I'm not sure how I feel about the combat scenes so far, feels like watching a video game brawl.
