Levia is so sexy.

This second episode was more enjoyable to my mind. Plus it's still a visual pleasure : colorful scenes, great effects, action stuff & small but essential things like clouds vanishing or blood on the boat.

Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook?
The answer would appear to be yes; if you are Mukoujima Takurou.
I liked this episode more than the first, and I liked that well enough. It keeps the crazy comedy and mythological / historical references and adds some genuine charm in the slower-paced sections. Levia-san is such a nice sempai. |

Good second episode, introducing three more mermaids, but the spotlight was on Levia-san, who is the Leviathan from the bible and has apperently destroyed the Mu continent allied to the greek and norse pantheons. The mermaids have been around for a really long time, so I think Takurou has a point in asking Muromi her age, especially since they refer to him as just a boy. Not that it matter to Muromi, it seems.
Well, that was a lot to digest in a single episode, wonder if we will see other mythical monsters appear in the show. |

ship sinking when idol mermaid's singing teeeheehee
I almost cringed when the show started, I thought they changed that owsam OP,but I guess not so i'll have that song ringing in my head the nextfew days again , nyahaha. BTW the start of the OP looks like sign language . Is it? what is she saying? or is it just some meaningless dance. nice cellphone : but what's that "i want to eat murom-san" line? weee anyway , now that we've seen levia-San (another leviathan this season ) and her cell phone pic, the OP makes more sense they really are that powerful(?). I mean as muromi-san said herself fire doesn't affect her, and what more needs to be said about THE levia-san funny how they have a hand at historical (and mythological) events, well they we're only watching at troy ^^. That monster from Mu looks like the giant weapons from Nausica or maybe Eva. surprisingly enough this has depth too, especially with that conversations at the end. Quite packed for a 12 minute anime. nice.

^ AH! okie ありがとう. Figured as much, but that's why I can't seem to decipher it try as i might, I was trying to translate across 2 languages and i'm only at level 3 in Nihongo at that. And it wouldn't fit English or our own sign languages.
Thanks for the links too! quite interesting. Anyway I find that opening Sign-language "dance" very engaging can't seem to stop watching it, and listening to the song.

May I ask a question that has really been bugging me? Was there a reference to Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo in the second episode? The monster that's fighting with Levia has a striking resemblance to the God Warrior.
Here's some caps from the episode. And here's the God Warrior Coincidence? |

^ yes indeed , but Giant God Warrior Appears in Tokyo itself copies those monsters from the Hayao Miyazaki classic Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind from 1984. One of my all time favorites Multitudes of shows/animes & writers/animators have been influenced by Miyazaki's works throughout the years.
