My current take on Claus and Wife relationship is:

Claus is actually quite distanced towards her from the very beginning.... because they don't share common interest and their marriage is forced upon them.

At the very worst case scenario: Claus treat her as non-existence

(Don't forget: No memory of her and his children... Even his happy memories consist of Olive only.... Or it could be explained as due to fragmented memory, Einhart only remember Olive part of his memory but left out the rest?)

No clue. Claus and Olivie knew each other since they were children, IIRC--Olivie was delivered to Shutra as a political hostage at a young age and they grew up together. So she likely would've been in the picture since the start, unless Claus and his future wife were also children together, which is not entirely unfeasible given the prevalence of political marriages among noble medieval familes.

My guess is Einhart's memories of Claus' interactions with Olivie is because of her own interactions with Vivio, so that's all merely subconscious on her part.

Wife is engaged to Claus at a very young age to strengthen the relationship between Shutra and Wife's nation.

Version 1:
Due to lack of common interest, Claus tend to hang around with Olivie more than her....

Her reason for disliking Olivie due to because Claus always pay more attention to Olivie than her? (or so she think....) And Olivie is always at the center of attention (being praised by others)...etc?

Envy bottle up into a dangerous cocktail?

The result is an ON-and-OFF relationship with his wife.... He is trying his best to like his wife.

Prologue

“Not yet.”

The small breath’s message was drowned out by the coordinated cheers of vibrant audience pouring down from the spectator stands, as the stadium lights burned brightly in the cool evening hallmark of Zurich in summer. The weather was dry, but it was as hot and stuck as a marsh down on the focii of attention -- two of the best Brave Duelists clashing on a holographic stage so large that the very cards they played dwarfed their figures, and the horseshoe terminals they stood in.

“Not yet,” the player in the West Corner huffed, watching his opponent with a keen eye.

“Diablo Dagger!” called the player in the East Corner, his avatar mirroring his actions to call out the card. The spell formed around him in clusters of levitant blades, then zinged off at their intended target.

The West Corner player watched the projectiles close a bit more, then leaned off to the right. His avatar above, wrapped in regal fur cloak did the same, shooting off on a contrail of white-golden mana. The Diablo Daggers spiralling in on him as he twisted and dodged, leaving the missiles to chase his randomly arcing smoke.

“Leutendes Licht!” West Corner called out with a wave from skywards to floorwards. This was followed by the fleeing image in the same action, bringing up a faint chime and a triangular magic array spreading out from his feet. As the image backpedalled, a hail of sparks scattered from the array, catching each dagger in sequence and erupting them into a blinding rage of mana explosions.

“There’s still more!!” East Corner roared as he closed in fists glowing. “LION’S RAKE!!”

“Not yet.”

The East player cast off another card into the graveyard, and the avatar grew claws of cackling blue lightning. West Corner raised another array of the same shape and blocked, sending sparks screaming throughout the stadium and rocking the bass as each slammed into the perimeter field. West’s shield held for a while, then shattered with force, putting space in between the duelists. This was met with a crescendo of enthralled fans.

[JACKET BREAK 3!] declared an unseen announcer. [What a comeback! Even with 3 shields left, Gaul the Great has managed to push Cayenne from 5 to his 2nd last Jacket! The Saint King of Niflr cannot withstand this much longer! What will the Prodigy Lion do next?]

“You’ve got 2 Jackets left, and your deck is empty,” his opponent taunted then raised his claws.

“Is that all you’ve got, Saint King?!”

Cayenne flipped up the card that he just received from the Jacket hit, and looked up with confidence.

“Right now!”

“...Heh?” the silver-haired Gaul watched on in surprise as the West Corner cast his first ceremonial spell in several turns.

“Big Damn Arrival!” Cayenne called. “I return three cards from my graveyard, Erik, Baelog and Olaf, to the playing field.”

At the command of their lord, three massive hulks of metal materialized between Gaul and Cayenne.

“Che! After all that effort to destroy them...!”

“I’m not done yet! As a price of Big Damn Arrival, I discard a card from my hand.”

Cayenne tossed the next piece into the graveyard face-up, and Gaul turned pale.

“Fenrir?!”

Cayenne is grinning now. “Yes, I discard the Prime of Niflr and use Fenrir’s Cycle Effect - ONLY ONE CRASH!”

“YES, MY LORDO!” The three giants huffed, then blasted into the sky as mana from Fenrir’s command formed a tornado of power, sweeping Gaul aside.

“Argh!”

“Let’s go!” Cayenne roared. “VALKYRJA FORMATION!!”

His avatar mirrored the soulful scream, then darted into the tornado, giving off a tremendous blast of Light that drowned everything out, grounding Gaul in this thundering wake and forcing much of the onlookers to shield their eyes. It died down soon after, leaving just a shining titan floating effortlessly in the sky.

“The Peerless Hero of the Frozen North,” Cayenne threw a punch, then another before whirling around and firing off all verniers as his visors lit up. “Is now present!”

[It's here!] Roared the announcer over en mass hysteria. [Cayenne plays his trump card, Throne of Niflr, Slavinnor!!]

“One-hit sure kill!” The boy followed up with power fed into his fist, forming a giant Belkan cross around it. He then swung forward in a hard-driving straight.

“INFINITE JUSTICE!”

The maximized avatar, now a good six times the size of Gaul, did the same and launched the shimmering cross upon a trailing of forever-extending steel coupling, rocketing towards Gaul at jet-stream speed.

“Like hell I’m just standing here!”

Gaul took off in a different direction, and the Belka cross swerved after him. Magic power grew with each passing second, and the punch-cross accelerated, matching the Prodigy Lion turn for turn, closing in all the while, before finally enveloping in golden flame.

“You got to be kidding...!!”

Another supernova erupted across the animated battlefield, the massive hit smashing all three of Gaul’s shields most graphically, while Slavinnor coolly retracted his arm.

[Winner! Cayenne Porche!] echoed the overly-enthusiatic commentor. [The Saint Card Knights wins this round!]

Half the crowd roared with cheer as the other half clapped humbly for the victor. Cayenne jump up with a whoop of his own, waving to the cheering half and bowing to both sides of the stadium.

“Hey, Gaul!!” He yelled into his mike. “Good game!!”

“Yeah, that was fun!” Gaul waved back. “Enjoy your victory this time, I’ll get it back real soon!”

“I’ll be waiting!!”

“Cayenne!!”
“Porche-kun!!”
“Onii-chan!!”

“Hel! Samia! Papri--”

Cayenne only had a bit of time to acknowledge before a flurry of frock and sundress collided bodily into him.

“You were totally awesome out there, Cayenne!” Squealed the tallest girl cuddling the hero deep within her chest, rubbing her face against his like a cat. “I never doubted you for one moment!!”

“Onii-chan is the best!!” The other tiny girl with hair as red as a paprika chilli squeaked from his waist.

“Popular as always, aren’t you?” Samia who stood further back, deadpanned at Cayenne with a faint smirk.

“I’m noth enfjoyingpt this toop much!” The Duelist griped while being smothered by Hel.

“O’ really...”

“Very well done, Sir Cayenne,” spoke another voice as the boy resteadied himself with the two glompers still piled on him. “You have done the Card Knights proud.”

“Don’t mention it!” Cayenne said, scratching the back of his head in humility. “I was just out there having fun, Miss Carym Garcia.”

“I see,” Carym nodded all-knowingly. “Well, I think you won’t mind what happens next then.”

“What is going to happen...?” Cayenne asked as the Cardinal produced an envelop with a Brave Duel seal.

“Assemble your team, Sir Cayenne. You’re going to Japan.”

Card 00: A Wind Blows from the North

[Magical Lyrical Duel BRAVE] is a re-imagination of the original characters who appear in the Nanoha OCT within the Innocent manga and game continuum.

This one-shot teaser features Cayenne Porche and reimagines his magic as part of a deck game. The other characters, like Hel of Loki and Samia Daemantius, were enemies fighting on Niflr when he was unwittingly dragged into their war. Paprika appears in Vivid as Porche's baby sister then in charge of Vivio, Syn and Stella's junior Riot Force Explorer squad, so I shrunk her age to make her appear here.

Carym is of course the boss/manager/coach of the Saint Card Knights team.

The Jacket Break mechanism was based on the... armor damage suffered in Nanohaverse. I'm sure this would mean the girls get progressively derobed as they take damage...

I'd totally agree! I have more fun writing about giant frozen machines bashing each other to bits in the midst of having a laugh than trying to make a triangle work!

Though admittedly I started the whole thing off with a triangle between Thor, Loki and Sif. Was pretty shallow in terms of drama if you'd ask a critic though.

Yuuno sighed as he finishes his compilation. Lately, more and more requests for data about the Belkans era keep turning up. The Library staffs were swamped with works, and he overheard that some of the new recruits had collapsed. Thankfully, all of them recovered after a good night sleep.

Stretching his shoulders, Yuuno was about to go research for another request when somebody knocked on his door.

“Come in. How can I- Oh it’s you.” Yuuno’s tone changed midway as he recognized who it was that opened it. “What do you want?”

“What’s with the response?” Xude – as pinkette called herself – asked as she enters the room. Privately, Yuuno always wondered who came up with such a … strange name. “Can’t I just visit you?”

“You never come to me unless you want something.” The blond deadpanned. “And you always tease me about one thing or another. Like how my hair look girly, or at my dating records.”

The woman just grinned. “Aw. You know you love me. Who would keep you company otherwise?”

Yuuno rolled his eyes. He would never admit it to her face, but he does appreciate her presence. He just wished she stop teasing him sometimes.

“Joking aside, I’m here to pick up the files that General Regius demanded.”

“Hold on a sec.” Yuuno rifled through the stacks of data he had put aside. “Ah, here it is.”

“You know, with all the works you’ve done, I think you deserve a little reward” Xude commented as she took the data from him.

“No thank you.” Yuuno replied dryly. “Have a nice day”

The blond wanted to wait for her to exit before returning to work. Who knows what she’ll do behind his back. Unfortunately (he’s still not sure if it’s the correct term to use) for him, she had other plan.

“I insist” Before he can react, Xude had took his tie and pulled.

And then Yuuno was sure he’s hallucinating, because there is no way in hell that she was kissing him. Rather aggressively too.

“Yuuno? I’m here for…” Hayate’s voice told him that, no, this was real and yes, Hayate – possibly one of the last person he wanted to find out about this incident – was standing at the door.

“Well, looks like you’re busy Ferret. See you later” Kaiser, did she just purred?

“Yuuno?” Hayate spoke up as the pinkette make her exit. “Would you mind… explaining what’s going on?”

Spoiler for Vivio Overreacts - Yuuno and Hayate Dating!?:

Einhart didn’t quite understand Vivio at times, but she mainly attributed that to her own emotionally sparse upbringing and outlook. Given that the blond girl was dragging her along and into the Infinite Library, the enthusiasm at going through all sorts of books exuding off of her like a normal child would about candy, games, or toys. In her memory, this was probably her own first time going to the landmark. Her closest friend started talking as they walked through the doors, “Hm, I wonder if Yuuno-san is in today. I rarely get to see him, since Uncle Chrono seems to like giving him a lot of work…oh! Or maybe he’s on a dig. I think Vita-san said something about him going on one recently, and coming back with some new artifacts and tomes.”

The silvery-green haired girl at her side had a bit of a confused look on her face, “Yuu-no-san? Do you mean Yuuno Scrya, the head and chief librarian here? I hadn’t realized that he was close to Takamichi-san.”

Vivio made a little pout, “Well, Yuuno-san was childhood friends with Nanoha-mama, Fate-mama, Uncle Chrono, and Auntie Hayate, but he isn’t really a front-line fighter like them. Vita-san always tells me that he’s only had his barriers and shields broken once, and that was against all three Aces-“

From in front of them, though, she was cut off by a soft but amused voice, “Well, Vivio, Vita might be blowing that out of proportion, really. Don’t tell her I said anything, but she still dislikes not being able to scratch me herself. And we were all teenagers when that happened in a sparring match, so I don’t know how much actual power they were putting behind their attacks.” He paused and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose from where he had stopped walking, “but that’s a different matter. What can I do for you, Vivio? Come to check out some books? Or wanting to research something? Ah, and I suppose the lovely young lady your dragging by the hand is Stratos-san, correct?”

Einhart nodded politely in response, curious to see a bit more of her friend’s interaction with the, surprisingly to her, young chief librarian. The younger of the two blondes pouted, “Mou, you’re asking too much right then, Yuuno-san. What got you all talkative?”

Scratching the back of his head, he chuckled lightly, “Well…Hayate invited me over to her office to commission my help on a case…”

“Ah, she teased and flirted with you, then! Nanoha-mama warned me to not use Adult Mode too much around Auntie…though, I think you and Zaffy are the only boys who Auntie does that to.”

“You know Hayate, Vivio; she doesn’t do it out of malice…it’s just her way of being affectionate, however inappropriate and embarrassing,” blushing particularly at one memory, he continued, “but on a different topi-“

“Oh, so she’s like Sein-nee that way!” a nod of innocent understanding bloomed again upon her face.

“Heheh, I suppose. I haven’t really met any of the Numbers…besides Uno-san, at least…” he scratched his cheek, embarrassed that Vivio was so insistent on the topic.

Einhart wore a puzzled expression on her face, but commented, “Vivio, don’t you think we should move on, though? Yuuno-san seems like he has other things he needs to do, and we don’t want to spend all our time here…”

Yuuno shook his head, “Don’t worry about it, Stratos-san. You both can stay however long you would like…within reason of course,” eyeing Vivio in particular with a mock severe expression, he continued “I have another meeting with Hayate for the case later on, though, so I’ll need to leave half an hour before you both should head home for the evening.”

“Eh, another meeting with Auntie!? Yuuno-san, are you really okay?”

‘What sort of reputation is Nanoha instilling in Vivio concerning Hayate?’ he mentally sweat-dropped at that, “Yes, I’m really okay, Vivio. Let’s see about the books or text you want, okay?”

Einhart tilted her head, “Multiple meetings in one day…that expression…Yuuno-san is dating Yagami-san?”

At that nearly deadpan statement, Vivio’s concern maximized, “Yuuno-san, you’ll die too young!”

‘…I feel like I’m the prop for a comedy act,’ mentally cried Yuuno.

I don't know what I'm doing. XD

Fate had had a long day; she had gone on a wild goose chase, with only archaic clues as to not only what she was supposed to investigate, but also as to who or what her suspect was. So, when she returned home, after knocking a few heads together for sending her on such a meaningless and headache-inducing task, she was only just cycling down from being frazzled.

Nanoha, on the other hand, had had a relaxed day in her office writing critiques and reviews on some of the trainees under her care. So she was home early and able to cook for her worn and weary friend and herself.

They were jerked out of their reverie by the front door opening, noise of stumbling feet, and a distraught wail from Vivio, "Nanoha-mama-!!!" The blonde, dragging Einhart right behind her, had at least made sure to get their shoes off before entering the rest of the building.

Huffing and puffing with her hands on her knees, the adoptive daughter of the two Aces tried to gather oxygen back to her lungs, while Fate and Nanoha had a mix of curiosity, worry, and long-suffering written all over their faces. Einhart could at least empathize in their suffering.

"Auntie Hayate is dating Yuuno-san!!!" her exclamation was said with all the seriousness of a poor, rank-and-file soldier reporting to a king that the ruler's daughter had been taken by a dragon or scoundrel.

Fate, for all her weariness, could only chuckle lightly at this, "This is going to be good-"

On the other hand, Nanoha sweat-dropped, "Um...Vivio-chan...mind explaining what you mean? You might have misunderstood. Yuuno-kun and Hayate-chan are friends, but I don't know about-"

Vivio cut her off, "I know what I saw and heard, Nanoha-mama! Yuuno-san told use he had a meeting with Auntie Hayate earlier today, and he looked really, really happy! But also really tired- and he was going to meet up with her again this evening!"

The young blonde was on a roll, and Fate was struggling to not start giggling horribly at it all. Nanoha, though, had a strange expression between amusement, confusion, and worry.

"Yuuno-san will die, mama! Zaffy, Auntie Shamal, and Zwei-chan won't do anything to him or for him. Auntie Signum and Agito-chan probably won't care- but if Vita doesn't bruise him a lot-"

Now that brought both adoptive mothers to giggles, "-or doesn't throw Miura-chan his way, Auntie Hayate will drain him dry!"

The only response Nanoha could give was, "Miura-chan is a bit too young for Yuuno-kun, Vivio-chan, and I doubt Hayate-chan would-"

"Miura-chan likes older men, mama. The bookish type. Corona-chan too," Vivio had tears in her eyes, more worried about what Hayate would do, but still sharing that piece of info. Fate's giggling started to hurt her sides.

"-I have no response to that, Vivio-chan," Nanoha put that aside. She didn't want to think of her childhood friend dating or attracting Vivio's friends and rivals. The thought of him spending time with Uno still unnerved her. "But I assure you Hayate won't drain him dry-"

Einhart decided to speak up, "Ah, she knows how to control her hunger. Yagami-san is an experienced succubus or vampire. It makes sense."

Poor Fate's sides hurt too much in her reaction to that. Vivio started crying a little bit, while Nanoha could only sigh, '...poor Yuuno-kun.'

Thank thee muchly.

I was mostly just aiming for humor, and wanted to involve Vivio and Einhart meeting Yuuno...past that, like I said: I have no clue what I was doing. XD
It somehow ended up with Yuuno x Hayate, and poor Vivio's imagination getting the best/worst of her.

Shame on Nanoha, giving Vivio such an impression of Hayate. X3

Poor Yuuno - the strait man in lifes comedy. I get this mental image of Vivio talking about Yuuno dating Hayate, while she is eating dinner with family. Then Fate clapping her hands twice and rubbing her palms together.

Well, my logic was, besides Verossa, Yuuno would be the best one to deal with her. And given that she is imprisoned, it isn't outside the realm of possibilities.

“Yeah well you didn’t look uncomfortable. Actually, I think you were enjoying it” She glared at him. Damn his luck.

“She took me by surprise! I was too shocked to do anything!”

The girl opposite to him continues to glare. Yuuno coughed and turned away. Honestly, it was just a kiss. It wasn’t that big of a deal to him.

… Oh wait, it sorta does. Why does Xude kiss him again?

“Anyway…” He cleared his throat. He figured he’ll ask her later. “It’s probably just a spur of the moment thing for her. Don’t worry about it. Now what can I do for you?”

“… Fine. I need you to look for any references to a sword called “The Retaliator”” After a while, Hayate spoke up. “It was also called “The Answerer” by some”

“I’ll look into it. I’ll have Arf deliver it to you as soon as-“

“No need. Just calls me and I’ll come pick it up” Hayate cut Yuuno off, her face smiling. Somehow that smiles feels … off to Yuuno. She couldn’t be, could she?

“I don’t want to bother you, given that the amount of work had increased lately.” Yuuno replied honestly.

“I insist.”

She is. Yuuno sighed mentally.

“Fine then. I’ll call you as soon as I find it. That sounds good?”

“Sure!” Her cheerful demeanor returned, and Yuuno was thankful for that.

He just hope she doesn’t tell anyone about that.
