i think what would have work best is if Lucy had to take a few quest to find Angel's golden keys. She could have lost them when she was wash down the river and we can have Aquarius threatening bodily injury on Lucy if she doesn't find her boyfriend's key

can someone tell me what chapters shows Mirajane's and her siblings arc? i've read up on lisane(?) after seeing the ending picture of her and natsu of ED2 which got me curious.

and i wish we would get to the dragons arc already. probably been a year or two since i've posted in this thread.

Chapters 55-56 was the first mention. Chapters 117-118 was the next one. A special chapter entitled X778 - Natsu and the Dragon's Egg that came out around chapters 117/118 is the most we see of Lisana.

hmm. sucks she is gone since there was a hint of romance between natsu and her in the special chapter. mashima sure knows how how to drag out the romance department until the very end of a manga...

I definitely like Gildarts, he is a pretty cool guy.

He is a human wrecking ball apparently, we officially have someone that does more collateral damage then Natsu

and I loled at his reaction to Mirajane and the rebuilt Guild hall, Natsu must really take after this guy.

Everyone in the guild seems to have a great deal of respect and admiration for him, and he is a friendly sort as well.

The thing is... that 100 year quest seems like it is unrelated to meeting the black dragon.

I don't think its stated he is 100+ years old.
Only the mission he took on is considered a 100years, altho I don't think it would be considered exactly a 100year mission but more a generalization to say just how dangerous it is.

Well Gildartz turned out what I was hoping, a rather laid back old geezer.
Nice to know he thought about Natsu and Lisana like so, which in turn showed how Natsu is somewhat uncomfortable about that topic.
Something that came to mind is he's obviously as strong as the any of the 10 great mages, considering he survives against a dragon so I'm wondering if he's actually one of the 10 great mages.

Good to know we might be getting something on the dragons now, really hope we do.
If Natsu goes off to chase down this dragon, I gotta wonder if any of the gang will follow the other DS might but I also see a possibility that some of the guild might try to stop him, which I think could make for some tense drama.

This black dragon is intresting...I wonder how Natsu would fare against someone like that. And I wonder why every dragon has at least one person to be taught a dragon slayer technique by them. Not to mention, taking care of them as if they are their own kid o.o

Guess we should wait for the next chapter.

Manga-wise, it raises the drama when/if they end up fighting each other, and makes DS the most suitable people to kill the dragons, who might as well be the second strongest creatures in this story. Story-wise, something along the lines of "I taught you so you could one day kill me for killing your real parents" or "so you would kill me if I ever went berserk", "kill me to erase our existence from the world", etc. My theory will be a bit different and go like this: dragon slayer magic is the only magic that can fully turn humans into dragons, but because it's very hard to master, only one disciple can be taken per dragon, who will later on become the next elemental dragon to teach another human.

I found it very funny that the town had to split into two for Gildarts to enter because of his power and his ability to be accident prone. Lol at the way Nastu wanted to fight him and gets taken out with the simplest of ease. The story then goes from being funny to being somber near the chapters end. Gildarts has been out for long that he accidently ask Nastu about Lisana only to find that she has been dead for about two years. Forgot to mention that it turns out that Gildarts failed the 100 year quest but it ties up with asking Nastu to meet with him in private. It turns out that he met a dragon but not the one Natsu was looking for. Gildarts informs Natsu that the dragon was of a black color and that it cost him the quest (and an arm, leg, and an organ to boot). After Natsu leaves upset, Gildarts tells Happy to support Natsu and the chapter ends with Natsu tripping on the ground and has a memory of him with Igneel.

I'm glad that:a) Gildartz is NOT another DS, because we've had plenty so far in so little time, b) he mentioned Lisana, c) he met a dragon (which is why I think the arc's beginning at last) and d) he's over a century old, cool Makarov's little part also implies that we're on to something.

Spoiler for spoilers: It is rather sad that he has been gone so long that he didn't know about Mira and Elfman's younger sister, it seemed to be a sore spot for Natsu too (and apparently it was obvious the two got along) Gildarts returning in that condition, but hiding it from the Guild is pretty sad too. The Black/Dark Dragon must be much stronger then anything we have encountered in the series so far, it makes me wonder what the Dragon Slayer for that is like (assuming that one exists). __________________
