So no new R2 episodes for 7 weeks according to the AS boards. Seems Bandai hasn't sent AS the episodes yet, because I can only guess they aren't done with the dubbing/post-processing.
Gotta admit I'm kinda pissed about it, especially since my guide said that a new ep would air this week. Oh well, at least I have the subs to pass the time... |

No new ones for awhile? Darn, I was just getting to really enjoy the dubs...

Anyway, so for the voice actors' quality... Lelouch --- English is pretty good, maybe even equal with Japanese, but I still prefer the Japanese (probably just because I heard it first) Suzaku --- English is great, Japanese is great. They're about equal in my eyes. (Oddly, I like Yuri Lowenthal as Suzaku, but I hate him as Sasuke) Kallen --- English is okay, Japanese is better. Nunally --- annoyingly, sickeningly sweet in both versions, IMO, but slightly less so in Japanese. Euphie --- Mm... Japanese is better, I think, but the English isn't bad. Tamaki --- Great in both. CC --- I prefer the Japanese, but the English is pretty good too. Cornelia --- Great in both the English and the Japanese. Other characters... meh, I don't really care about. xD |

maybe it because R2 was being RUSH-DUB!!!
really it likely reason they put on a break time especially with 10eps left & with the infamous trainwreck 5 on the way. so it's the RUSH-DUB to blame.

Epic Fail once again. *facepalm* Truth: Code Geass R2 wasn't considered as a trainwreck because Goro Taniguchi saved it, despite the confusion. Gundam SEED is not that bad. Destiny is crap - and that's a FACT. I have this habit of comparing R2 with Destiny. Gundam SEED and Code Geass were good on their own, but their respective sequels (Destiny and R2) practically destroyed everything that their predecessors have managed to do. It's just that R2 wasn't a total trainwreck, but Destiny was. Take this analogy I made to compare Destiny with R2: R2 is like unspoiled food - it was tasty earlier when you were eating it and then you leave it in the refrigerator and it becomes spoiled. You feel bad for not enjoying all of it when it was unspoiled, and now you wish you can eat something better. Destiny, on the other hand, is like going to a drinking session with your buddies when you have low tolerance for alcohol. You keep on drinking and think that it's good stuff, and then you throw-up. You drink more until the drinking session ends and then you throw-up more. The next day, you get this horrible hangover that lasts for an eternity. When it comes to sequels, R2 isn't exactly the worst thing ever. Then you call Kamen Rider Decade a "trainwreck". Epic fail. <_< |

Edit: I wouldn't mind if they put Moribito back on, they didn't even finish it. Last edited by Dilla; 2009-03-21 at 15:25. |

I actually really liked the English dubbing for the most part, didn't really ruin my enjoyment of the show at any point. I ended up caving and watching the last-half of R2 in Japanese with subtitles which I don't normally do, as I find it very distracting; I know others will swear by watching it with subtitles in its "pure" format but that's never been for me except when I'm itching to find out what happens!
The only exceptions to the voice-actors were the Chinese Federations High-Eunuchs, who have stupidly annoying voices in the Japanese audio versions too; effeminate male voices is one thing, it's another to just have stupid "I'm a man dressed as a women trying my best to sound like one too" style pantomime voices! The other was Crispin Freeman, I really liked him as Alucard in Hellsing, and a couple other things he did. But I didn't like him as Jeremiah, though that may have partly been that the character is generally annoying and stupid anyway, especially when he keeps coming back for no reason But yeah, enjoyed the series and the English dubbing was excellently done on the whole |
