2nd season picked up the story of the manga around vol6. It seems it's kind of based on the manga, but the order of things and fights are different one way or another. As a whole I think they will follow closely to the manga storyline. I prefer the manga over the anime, but I'm impressed with the second season so far. |

Maybe it's just because I started rewatching the first series mid-last week, but did anybody else think that the art took a bit of a hit in this episode? Especially characters in the background just seemed... well... half-drawn a lot of the time.

So far, I'm enjoying this season of Ikkitousen more than I did the first one. It's still not a very good show, but I still find myself rather interested in how their take on the Three Kingdoms will play out. The animation of the fights is nothing to write home about, but I still liked the way they incorporated more weapons. I think that moving the story to showcase the more important characters of the original work also helps overall.

Ikki Tousen is the best by far.....
Honestly, in my eyes, this is my favorite series of Anime ever. It's very well made, and i think that it is very good to have a comeback like it has. I loved the original Ikki Tousen, but the new series is very good and detailed. Also f you get a chance, check out the manga.......Battle Vixens (anerican name)

but thats only if hakufu doesnt use her hidden powers...id say it will be a close call even if she did but at the end kanu wont be strong enough (unless she aims to kill first as we know that hakufu enjoys playing around with her enemies )

Actually, Kan-U could kill her. Not in a one-on-one battle though, more strategy would and should be used to isolate and weaken one with a Dragon before one can kill them.
And a Dragon isn't really a 'hidden' power persay since it is a part of Sou Sou, Hakufu, and Ryuubi, more of like an innate power. For Hakufu, using her Dragon comes very naturally - she doesn't have to get insanely angry in order to access it's power. Sou Sou's now throwing around that power like crazy but it's still a part of him. That's basically what these Dragons are - ki and desire built up over 1800 years by the Three Rulers' souls. I'm fairly sure that this isn't spoiler-worthy but if it is, gomen. ^^; |

Hmph... ah well, I really have to say up til Episode three there really isn't exactly much that makes me want to tag along with the series.
Except for some (and way too few) nice... err... revealing scenes that is. However, seeing the "story" progressing like this makes my head hurt. Hopefully real fighting starts soon to fill that gap... or maybe all of this was just some kind of prelude, since I don't know the manga I can't quite tell. Spoiler:
