Sport betting

hi guys,

Ok, i believe that there is no guy who haven't bet on sport till now, and i wonder how much did you won or loose? Is it worth it? How much do you bet? On which sports do you bet the most?

I have heard that Football is the most risky when it comes to scores, i have seen worse clubs beating so called top 10 clubs and so on. And most of people suggest to avoid those kind of bets ...

And they also said which kind of bets are the most profit from it... and those sports was like: Tennis, Basketball, Ice Hockey,... what do you think? I really like to watch NBA games, or some good Tennis matches, where you don't know till the very end who is going to win...

and the patience you need to have for those risky bets and nervousness is endless and you can't get enough sleep ( when you bet a lot - talking from my own experience) but i always have this bad luck to always miss only one!! Agh! Only one... and its driving me crazy

so... what do you bet the most, and what kind of amount of money do you put on those bets?

I don't go into heavy betting like exact scores or anything. I usually just bet on who will win a football game. And I'll usually only bet on the Play Offs and Super Bowl. I'll bet anything between 5-50 dollars, depending on what game it is and whos playing.

Problem for me is that I like all sports, so I'm no aficionado on any particular one. My bets are usually based on the person's/team's reputation and how I fancy them. And even then, I just take a wild guess. I don't bet more than a few bucks either, since I'm known to lose (picking the wrong team just to play devil's advocate).

Where are you from? Actually, there is this guy, a friend of a friend of mine , who has never bet on sport. He hasn't even played lotto. I know quite a few people who probably never have.

Horses, dogs(greyhounds) occasionally. It's better to go to the track. It's a good way to go out and do something different. I don't know if race events in the US are different to what I go to in the UK and Australia (Ascot, Flemington respectively) but the Spring Racing carnivals are more of a social event than just hardcore betting. You get dressed up and mingle. Crown Oaks day is Ladies day is quite good as you see girls dress up really nicely, dresses, hats etc etc so you are pretty much forced to do the same thing as a male, suits, ties, cufflinks, cravat etc etc). It sounds pretentious but its a lot of fun. Greyhounds are the exact opposite though. A lot of old men. 300 pounds sterling was my biggest win but that was over 1/2 a dozen races in a day. But that's just my style as I'm not completely comfortable with just going to gamble. I'd rather go to a casino and play blackjack and poker if I wanted to that where I have some degree of control over what's going on.

Boxing is another thing I like to bet on. But simply betting on a winner isn't much fun. Picking a round for a KO, method of victory and seeing it come through is a nice way to make some $.

£1 grand national. Never lost yet. Shame I never get a good return

Most I've bet was £5 in a casino and I walked out with £750 oO (one off - I could feel the fingers of the betting god wrapping it's fingers around my heart)

I love sports, but I don't gamble. I don't see a problem with gambling, though (unless it becomes addictive... parallels to alcohol are forming in my mind).

Bet that Korea would reach the semi-finals in the 2002 World Cup.

Got a cool $100,000 out of the deal.

It was "professional" betting. Korea reaching the semifinals had a 1:100+ odds. So, I just decided to blew off $1,000 (since the Cup was hosted in Korea/Japan and all that), and the result was a high return.

I promised myself never to do it again, since I probably will never get lucky again.

I had $200 placed on the Giants this Superbowl, and that turned out pretty well.

I usually bet/play during football season, both the NFL and college teams. The type of bets I play depend which teams are challenging each other, and when during the season they play. I also take into account team stats, as well as other variables (injured players, injured reserve, depth chart, etc.).

Depending on the teams playing, I'll sometimes play either the spread, or the over/under. Just for fun, I'll also play a few parlays. This past college football season really did a number on me (in fact, it was one of the worst betting seasons for anybody following the odds), with all the upsets... I lost about $4000 bucks. I guess it didn't help that I chased a lot of games, and tried doubling up to make some money back.

Betting on the Superbowl in Vegas can be a lot of fun... you can bet on alot of different things like: who will win the coin toss, who will score first, if the first score is going to be by field goal or touchdown, which team has the most yards running the ball, etc. as well as the normal bet of who's going to win the game, who's winning at the half. So much different things to bet on; but the biggest bet is the one you make before the season even starts... you can bet on which two teams will go to the next superbowl. The crappier the teams are in the current season, the higher the odds are that they won't make it into the next season's superbowl, so if you do bet on those teams, and they end up going to the next superbowl, the payout will be HUGE.

I bet on the big national horse race here every year. Usually just a few dollars. Last year is the first year I haven't won anything; I didn't do nearly enough research on the race, just randomly picked a few horses, because I was too busy moving at the time to do any more.

I've won over a thousand on it before, for a $10 bet. Generally manage to at least triple my bet, though.
