Did anyone notice that there seems to be a trend with the members of Ichika's harem. They all seem to have sad/tragic backgrounds.
Houki- Separated from childhood friend due to her sister Cecilia- Parents didn't get along then died in an accident Rin- Parents divorced Charlotte- Mother died, Unwanted by father Laura- Child super soldier Kanzashi- Inferiority complex Tatenashi- Parents are dead (This is just my speculation) Is it possible that the parents of the Sarashiki sisters are dead? Tatenashi herself did say that she is the current head and 17th gen. of the Sarashiki family. That would mean that she would have to currently be the eldest in the family, right? |

It's common for harem members to have sad backstories? The only other anime I know that involves these kinds backstories are The World God Only Knows and Bakemonogatari (Didn't watch much of this one though). Also, what are the chances that my speculation is correct?

We never actually confirmed if Tatenashi's parents are dead. Just because she's the leader doesn't mean her parents are dead; many parents have their kids lead from a young age and step in only when they need help.
That and Kanzashi's issues would look REALLY petty if that was the case:/ Her parents are dead, her sister has to step up.....and she whines about being inferior? That's really bad.
