I am kind of messed up right now though so I can't quite recall so much as the names of the shows so the list could look drastically different if I made one when I haven't a huge headache sapping away all my energy  Honorable mentions would mostly include all those short or otherwise experimental shows like Young animator training project, Yondemasu Azazel San, Double J, Morita san wa mukuchi etc. There are quite a few very good ones I haven't finished yet. Usagi drop, Steins;Gate, Wandering Son etc. Oh and a number of shows from this season. If we can go outside tv shows then there were a number of very good movies that were either released or subbed this year. Redline, Mardock Scramble The First Compression, Colorful etc. off the top of my head. |

If you really want to watch a hidden gem, and by hidden I mean an anime that has never become famous in the US or in Animesuki but in the rest of the world is just as famous as DBZ or Sailor moon and has a huge fan/cult following, then please watch Saint Seiya, specifically, you should watch Saint Seiya the Lost Canvas whose second season was released this year. We are hoping for a 3rd season in 2012.
Why should you bother watching its 26 episodes? A) Top notch action sequences. B) Excellent animation. c) Excellent voice actin. d) Great Music. e) Great story. It is based on Greek mythology, the constellations and the 12 zodiac signs. Here is a little preview:

1 Kanon
- Kanon was VERY emotional for me and I loved every second. I cried, I laughed, I felt torn, I smiled- ulltimately I was very satisfied! 2 Clannad and Clannad: After Story - this anime was extremely emotional for me and I cried a lot but also smiled a ton 3 ToraDora -I remember the several nights I spent thinking about this anime. 4 Kiss x Sis -I know everyone thinks this anime is lousy, but I actually enjoyed it! =D 5 Kannagi -TSUGUMI!!! overall I'm enjoying it |
