Shame there isn't a UK release date for DC animated features, otherwise I would've got this , even though I'm not a fan of this particular story line or the Red Hood.

The character design is better than the other latest DC animated movies, and Greenwood sounds pretty good as Batman (even though Kevin Conroy > ALL).

The new DC animation serie will start on Setp/Oct 2010 in US (on Cartoon Network)

A serie with ado/sidekick again...

When will we have a serie as ambitious as Justice League?

By the way, someone know if we will have a 3rd season of Spectacular Spiderman? Because the end of season 2 was a bit....

I get the feeling Prime's backstory will be completely rewritten if they actually hope to use him realistically.

Just watched this On Demand. Very good, while Conroy and Hamill will likely be viewed as the prototypical voices for Batman and Joker for a long time coming, Greenwood and Dimaggio held their own (Dimaggio made Joker sound pretty rugged) imo. Definitely worth the watch (and a buy) in my opinion.

Next up: Superman/Batman Apocalypse

Spoiler for Blu-Ray cover:

I thought the Under the Hood was okay, I'm really not a fan of the character design used in the DCAU/Marvel animations (although I do watch them ) and I also kept thinking 'oh look Bender (Futurama) is voicing the Joker.

Next year we'll be getting Batman: Year One (a really good story, but we've seen several of the story elements in Batman Begins) and All Star Superman (one of the best Superman stories). I really wish they would adapt Grant Morrison Batman stories though, especially Batman & Robin. Dick Grayson as Batman and Damian Wayne as Robin is so awesome.

Young Justice looks more ambitious if you ask me, not only are they changing the line-up compared to the comic (having Dick Grayson and Wally West instead of Tim Drake and Bart Allen) the show also feature a 16-man Justice League.

Emo-Boy prime is Super Boy Prime the one in the black t-shirt. Didn't like his character dropped Teen Titans comics long ago.

OMG!!! Now that's another DVD added to my collection! DC gets better and better on their one shot cartoon OVAs.

They might use Kon-El Superboy's origin (clone of Superman) rather than the alternate universe origin from the comics.

Oh and he probably won't be batsh**t insane either.

I have mixed feelings about teen superhero series because they tend to be aimed more towards the kiddies. Batman Beyond is probably the only notable series that really handled it right. Teen Titans definitely had its moments, but Static Shock and Legion of Superheroes were pretty painful to watch for me.

Young Justice looks to be more of the traditional Bruce Timm, Paul Dini style so I think it has potential to be really entertaining.

Also, with Marvel merging with Disney their animation studio is going to be revamped. I know there's already another Spider-Man cartoon in the works. Maybe they'll try to expose some of their lesser used characters too. Iron Fist or Moon Knight would make great animated series. Spider-Man's already had like a hundred cartoon series

So is the Robin in Young Justince Tim or Dick?

But judging from the suit it's the Red Robin. Probably Tim...not sure.

Regarding Superboy Prime he was never part of Young Justice, it was always the Superman clone in YJ. Superboy Prime was too busy punching walls.

Oh I definitely agree couldn't watch Teen Titans and The Batman because of the kiddy feel but as you said Young Justice seems different mostly because it's more aimed at teenagers (at least that's what the creators are trying to do)

As I said Robin is going to be Dick not Tim.

Emo-Boy Prime was always supposed to be a younger Gary Stu Clark Kent from an alternate reality. (Much like Kal-L was the older golden age Supes from the 30's)

He never wore the black muscle shirt/S symbol combo either....that's a trademark outfit of Kon-El/Conner Kent (The Supes/Luthor clone). He's a much more likeable character compared to Prime with his own rich backstory to pull on.

Good question. But then again, that series would be REALLY tough to beat. At least in my opinion.

Dick is now Batman though in the comics.....

Wonder if they'll make a Final Crisis or Batman Ripp/Battle for the cowl?

about Young Justice:

They should've chosen Tim Drake instead of Dick Grayson.
The whole design combined with the team line-up screams Tim Drake.

Curious if they're gonna keep the same roots for Superboy as in the comics.
Could make up for interesting storylines if they do so.

I can say the same considering Miss Martian. She has a backstory that can spawn some great character development, especially if they are willing to use the darker elements of her person.
