This OVA > whole first season for me.
Pity that glassed monster stopped them from kissing.
I bet he was watching them for a long time (sick pervert), I hate him.

I would have killed him if I had the chance.
The blushes in this episode were beyond cute.

I'm just gonna assume he eventually did try to do something and got taken out by Tomoyo. I mean, he's never heard from again.

Anyhow, the last part of the episode was very well done especially the symbolism with the tracks.

Oh well, now that the thread is revived again, I might as well share a few thoughts of my own since I only watched this a few days ago.

Prior to this, I'd watched the whole first season but I haven't played the game. This is the first time I've had the opportunity to see an alternate world in an anime so I was anxious to see how the episode turned out. Naturally, I wasn't disappointed.

What this episode shows very well is how our fate is in fact in our hands; believing in soul mates is ridiculous, there are plenty of good people out there and many of them may turn out to be right for us. Tomoyo is just as good a girl as Nagisa - I needn't mention her personality is convincing and well thought out - and if the events had occurred the way they did here, Okazaki would get to love her as much as he did Nagisa in the main story.

At first, the notion of the two of them splitting apart over the future of their careers appeared a bit cliché-id but they handled it well and as the episode progressed, it really struck me for the first time how damaged Okazaki Tomoya is as a person. Then the decision Tomoyo would have to make of whether she should stay in that small town for the rest of her life with someone she has gotten to love deeply, but has only been with for a short while didn't seem so naive anymore. That kind of stuff could happen in real life (it probably does all the time).

The episode finale wasn't that unexpected but in true Clannad spirit managed to be emotional and put a smile on my face. A part of that was probably because I heard that great song that only played once before when Fuko had to "leave" () and that made quite an impact on me at the time.

I gave it a perfect 10 just because they ended up together. From the beginning I thought they would say "Farewell" at the end and I was wrong which is good.

For me there are 2 best parts in the episode : first , when Tomoya worked really hard on his studies and the ending, of course. I like all this snow stuff.

Yup, that's what I was afraid too. But in the end it showed they weren't merely goofing around with this episode; Tomoyo x Tomoya could well have happened and it would be the real deal.

Well, depending on the route you chose in Clannad and/or the cash you are willing to spend on Tomoyo After (the sequel), it could have been the real deal

Beautiful, just beautiful. I finished the first season and when it ended with this OVA, I felt it was a bit better in a sense than the other tear jerker episodes. Still hoping for a Tomoyo After series, anything is possible.

There is a Tomoyo After game but I wouldn't get my hopes up for an actual anime adaptation. I'm not saying it's impossible but everything that is Clannad is pretty much complete already.

So you think that the first season was a tear jerker? Well get ready for the second season, Clannad: After Story because you're in for one hell of a ride

I guess he'll be one your victims in the list of those who haven't watched AS.

Btw, I decided to complete VN before watching AS.

Well you can complete the VN first, but I think watching After Story first will give you the full emotional impact rather than spoiling yourself to the plot

Ah yes, the Death Note. Though It'd probably be more reserved for the nameless jerkass in this episode. Yea wiki just calls him "unnamed student". Though he is voiced by Lelouch.

Spoiler for About that...:
I've heard that a translation patch is coming out sometime in Sept but could just be a rumor.
Spoiler for Tomoyo After ending:

Getting rather off topic maybe the Tomoyo After thread woulda been better, er I liked the episode!

Finished Tomoyo's route in VN. Rewatched the episode.
They pretty much pissed some interesting stuff from there.
Spoiler for like:

But I really liked that in anime version they made Tomoyo work and study after he broke up with her. Also when he was looking for a job, they made him look like some manager it a small recycle company and in VN he was like all covered in oil, which pissed me off.

I can say that anime made the route more smoother. And of course voice actors work was perfect.

Tomoyo's route - I consider it the best in the VN now.
