Though a question. What's with the logo? different logo that which been shown through. It might be connected to the heroic spirits but I just can't remember having heard/read those logo in fate/zero.
Different command seals for different masters.

Wow good thing you pointed that out, I missed what was happening in that scene. Really surprised they're showing that, but then again this is ufotable (movie 3, anyone?)

Really pleased with everything I've seen recently

Question for those who have read the LN.

I have fate/stay night knowledge so it's not relevant to me, but for a totally new viewr in the fate/stay night story, can one show fate/zero to them and they'd understand it? Or does fate/stay night anime act as a necessary breaking into the universe?

Does one need to watch/play fate/stay night to watch fate/zero basically.

Few character interactions might look a bit odd, while certain instances wouldn't have the same impact (see 1:05 in that trailer), but Fate Zero is sort of a stand alone, depending if ufotable will introduce the Grail War system or not.

Hmm yeah, well hardly anyone would know what 1:05 in the trailer is besides VN players . Thanks though.

Guess I'll have to get my friend to watch Fate/Stay Night... Possibly... I doubt Ufotable would spend too much time detailing the holy grail system.

I personally would suggest the same, considering how in all honesty, Zero is by far more epic and dramatic than original fate (of course, people's mileage may vary so). Going through F/SN first will definitely give a much better retrospect, a bit how other series like Baccano etc are more interesting when the past is unfolded -after- the current events shown.
If anything else, it allows people to concentrate on the actions instead of deciphering why X or Y is happening (command spells and other pesky stuff, which every master needs to know first hand )

It shouldn't be that difficult explaining to a friend the basics though.

No, not really. Zero is totally self-contained and you can pretty much approach it fresh while losing very little enjoyment. The only problem is spoilers for F/SN. Ofc, it'll have more impact if you know the background but there won't be the sense that "something is missing/off".

The Grail System itself is simple and comes up naturally in the story, so I don't see why there'd be problems explaining it. If they could handle all of the esoteric gobbledygook in KnK, fate/zero is comparatively simple in terms of mechanics.

I've only read the first volume but I'd say you can watch it without needing to watch/play FSN.

Anyway, that was some jaw-dropping animation in that preview.

Does anyone know if there's any chance for the music from this soundtrack to be used in the anime? The Lancer in particular is one of my favorite anime songs, it would be unreal to actually see the scene it was supposed to portray with it playing in the background.

Doubt it. Kajiura isn't want to re-do themes unless it's her own work.

Well, since Kajiura Yuki was appointed as the composer, it is unlikely they will use it, unless it is a remix (hell that is unlikely as well).
That said, I certainly will look forward to the scores she will use for F/Z anyway, considering what she did for Knk.

I'm also amazed they're including that in a TV series.

I just love how they milk the hell out of a line that isn't once uttered in this story.

Somebody figured that it had to be thrown in there since it's pretty much the defining line of the entire franchise.

Oh, that would be totally awesome!

I love how the guns look! Haven't read the Zero LN, but I am totally looking forward to the series!
There will be 24 episodes, right? Fall is going to be incredible. Also the PV song is pleasant to hear.

Actually, it was uttered once in the LN and in the drama CD.

Really? I've ever heard the drama cd and don't remember it in the ln though you're probably right.

I just find it funny that the end and beginning of like every promo has it. Though I shouldn't be surprised at how much Type-Moon wanks Saber at this point.

Better quality (1080p) - well, some may do not agree, as it was deinterlaced by weaving, but at 720p it's almost ok.
