I so very much want to be excited by the prospect of this series. Mecha + Urobuchi is a wonderfully intriguing combination, but the most recent anime original mecha series haven't managed to strike a chord with me. At this point the premise and character designs are fairly bland, but that could just be my perspective. Nothing is striking me as fresh or interesting right now.
The "harem" tag on this thread is admittedly worrisome because I'm so tired of potentially good shows taking that route. If we can just avoid three things—a harem setup, gratuitous "ecchi" scenes, and Gundam Seed-level angst—I will be one majorly happy camper. That's not expecting too much, is it? In any case, I look forward to learning more about this project in the coming months.

For some reason I doubt that mecha will be a focus in this story, and seriously, the harem tag seem to be put on solely because there are multiple female character concept released already (i.e. unwarranted).
In regard to his writing style, I believe that you cannot understand true happiness and hope without going through despair and broken dreams first.

More importantly, for some unknown reasons, the more I read the synopsis and watch the trailer the more I feel some Planet-of-the-Apes-like vibes emanating from it.

Please don't pour salt on the wound. (TwT)
... but this time I'm totally immune to it since none of these girls are my type. I don't care if all of them died in a gruesome way, it's even better may it make some interesting plot twist.[/blatant lies]

Ai kayano, uh? I hope Saya-girl will have a Takebe Saori-like personality or anything close nano desu, I really liked everything about that girl including the voice. I mean ... no, I wish she don't.

Well I have to congratulate him on his first lead role. Especially one that's bound to be a hit.

Not me, at least. I actually don’t know what to expect (except for well-done story) even though it’s on my must-watch list. I guess the combination of Gen and Mecha is the absolute temptation to my curiosity .
