Finally this adaptation reached the good part of the story, the entire first half of the episode was boring but then the best girl finally got some screentime and that's to claim what she wants.

Watched episode 9:

Started with some comedy on bear cub and missing wig.. but soon things went to the rooftop. Omg, did not expect Satori to have a really twisted personality like that... so the Satori Tamaba in the Five Swords is actually the real Misogi? Stealing another person's identity is the work of a psychopath or some sort of mental illness...

Anyway, two dangerous people meet. Empress wins because being invulnerable to swords and bear claw is like having a cheat code in this anime. The five swords can't win because they use... swords.

Nomura trying to get the last stamp. Not going to be easy. Can't wait for next week's episode. ^___^

Ah, we're finally at the good part. Bout damn time! I was eagerly anticipating this.

That shift from light-hearted comedy to that dark and serious tone was kinda unsettling. Bonus points for Satori, correction Misogi being every bit as fucked up as I thought she'd be. This also paves the way for her to achieve some form of normalcy from here on out. So, I'm looking forward to that.

And well, Tsukuyo... I knew people were terrified of her (from what I saw on the panels), but I didn't know she was that terrifying. Would've never known if I didn't see Masuko's reaction. (Just goes to show, not being able to read and understand what you see can create very different feelings altogether when you finally see the translation)

Did she just straight up murder Satori and Misogi? Wtf... Talk about complete mood whiplash. Mostly a comedy series and then suddenly authors like "Needs more death."

Not sure why everyone likes Amou... She seems like a completely evil psycho to me. Then again there are people who worship serial killers in real life, so I'm not surprised people like them in fictional works.

It depends on what basis their psycho self gets triggered. In Amou's case, it's pretty obvious why she went ballistic on those girls: they messed with her beloved Nomura-chan.

Seriously, Amou had a much better reason for beating those girls up than they had with all the shit they've done to Nomura.

That loli is good, I think she's she's my favorite girl so far.

Anyway, hope there's no interruption in Amou vs Nomura, but does he actually stand a chance? He had a tough time against the girls 1vs1 while Amou basically humiliated them all. Maybe Nomura wasn't going all out in his previous fights?

BTW, Yakumarujigenryu is a school of sword art that exists in real life.
So is Jigenryu that it originated from. Unyou is also a real life Iyai style from Jigenryu.

From the way their first fight seems to have gone Nomura is a hard counter to Amou. It's sort of rock, paper, scissors. Loli can take out Nomura because she is faster then him and he is not swordproof. Amou can take out loli because she is somewhat swordproof and has auto counterattack up all the time. Nomura can take out Amou because he is tough enough to tank her counterattacks and his magic bullet can pulverize her internal organs regardless of her hardened outer casing.

Inaba really is a fun character to watch. Though I pity her, since carrying real swords are banned in Japan.

But, holy shit, Amou's hands are weird.
