I would LMAO if he actually did though.

Lisa isn't wielding a second sword fyi, its just her sheath, and we have never seen Kensai release either, so that knife may just be the unreleased form of his sword.

At first I thought it was a staff, hence why I previously thought that everyone went shikai, but Kensei definately did, if you look at the Turn Back the Pendulum arc chapter 104.

We did see Kensei release. In fact, he's the first Vaizard we seen with a released Zanpaktou. Not sure about this, but I think the actual release was off-screen till Turn Back. The knife's his released form.

Well despite being given a dramatic "A DEADLY STRIKE!!" at the end, it's safe to say I don't think he expects us to believe Shinji is gonna land a direct hit. Shinji probably attacked to try and force Aizen to counterstrike.

In any case, I don't know why Shinji thinks he could cut Aizen, although we don't know how strong Shinji really is. On the other side, Aizen wouldn't smile for nothing and he probably fooled them with his zanpakutou already and is on safe location finishing up his plan. If it's not that I don't know how else will they end this long battle.

Hehe, I would laugh to no end if he just died by a single blow. I think this would be bad writing, except the new backup would turn against the Shinigami afterwards. This would be a desirable change then. Unexpected, but actually not a bad one. Yet I think that Aizen will simply counter the attack and probably reveal a new technique.

Is it actually possible that he can't be hit by their powers, somehow similar to the first fight between Kenpachi and Ichigo? This would be awesome.
