in terms of destructive firepower, the IS would be quite meager in comparison to conventional crafts. Unless ofcourse you're packing energy weapons. IS are the only things in universe capable of handling large calibers of those things.

Oh yea, Zero. I changed the original 467 cores to 1000 cores. This way, allows for more common use IS.

The other thing I am debating is whether I should allow for space colonisation. Because, remember if IS's original intent was for space use, then surely the governments would use it for SOME of it's intended purposes?

Well, best I can think they'll help putting satellite and building space station much easier

It's even implied in the chapter 12 of original ST that someone is constructing giant space station to be used as elevator tether in the future. (see conversation with Dan)

While interstellar colonization still a long way, it'll be stupid if they stopped space industry as a whole. The solar system is a giant void full of untapped resources.

Well, I imagine it's just another Cold War in IS now. Beside, if it's space, it would need much more than IS. In the classic theory of colonisation of space, you would need to be able to build Driver and Orbital Elevator before Rotating Colony. Not to mention the forcing of lower class to immigrate to these colonies. And then artificial weather, agriculture, mutation,...

That say, I wouldn't be surprise if there are several scientist staying on the Moon.

Actually, the character i need this for was a clone created by the russian mafia, so the lead to the mafia would work.

Unless you had a very progressive-thinking commander - that's grounds for execution, especially around Top Secret-grade material like an IS. It would depend completely on how the base was ransacked - what was used, any injuries/damages, that sort of thing.

They stole an IS, and tried to steal it, but had to try and fight their way out, but failed, destroying some of the base in the process.

all the ASHMB unit use the same basic frame, you just pile armor, weapon, booster and so on on them to the point that they're barely looking alike.
