Whoa, I think that's quicker than last week.
Better go search for them.

They are going to repeat endless eight?

Fine by me. But these extra episodes won't count in for the new season, right?, something like 8a, 8b and 8c. Cause no matter how great endless eight is, it doesn't deserve a 15498 episode long arc. We haruhiists don't deserve to have all our second seson consumed by a single arc.

^ 250 more years of Haruhi... Is there a problem?

Another episode of Endless Eight hmmm... Was hoping it'd end this episode so we could finally get to the good stuff.

On the bright side, more Kyon fanservice. He is looking fabulous~ (no homo)

I only saw the first few minutes because I'm going to watch it later with a friend (who doesn't know why it's called "Endless Eight", so that'll be fun), but: I'm gay for Shirtless Kyon.

I mean, I was gay for Kyon before. But I'm MORE gay for Shirtless Kyon.

After watching it with subs and having seen it without first (which I'd never done before and now won't do again), it's actually slightly shocking how often Kyon's expressions convey absolutely nothing about his thoughts. It's always been apparent anyway throughout the series, but even moreso with that kind of consecutive contrast.

...I just watched the episode. It was incredible.

The budget, like, tripled, and the animation is more "normal" than it was before. They've also regained some the animation flair I felt was missing from the other two episodes.

I'm really fucking impressed, and if they top this (and end this) next week I'll no longer care that they wasted a quarter of the new episodes on this arc.

Seriously, FUCK, it was good.

Also Koizumi is win forever.

This ep actually had some rather disturbing scenes.

Spoiler:

Dude, that's just not right!

And Nagato didn't seem just indifferent and expressionless like normal, but actually depressed. This arc is really more The Melancholy of Nagato.

Endless 8 pt. 1 - fan service
Endless 8 pt. 2 - yaoi service

Anyone venture to guess who will be served next?

Well, you'd be rather depressed if
Spoiler:

Never mind the fact that she's just a humanoid interface for the Data Overmind, and Haruhi's stereotypical Emotionless Girl.

Can it be yuri tiem nao? Oh wait, that happens all the time with Haruhi's antics with regard to Mikuru.

That's...very unexpected.

Part of me is disappointed that they didn't wrap of Endless Eight this week. However, I am very surprised at what they did do instead. And as a novel reader, I didn't expect this season to surprise me at all. I must commend Kyoto Animation, then, to have actually deviated from what I expected. Perhaps this season won't be as normal as I anticipated.

I have to say I am impressed with what they are doing. Admittedly Endless Eight could easily have been 1 episode so 3 does feel a little overkill. But hey I read the novel and they are keeping me on my toes. This is what I call a perfect adaption. In fact as much as I enjoyed this story in the novels I am enjoying it even more here. I loved spotting all the little differences they put in. It's the same, yet not. You don't get to experience that from reading the novel.

However I am a little nervous that now we will miss out on some other Haruhi stories because this one is longer than expected.

Yeah, hopefully no three-year wait again for the next round of episodes when all this is done.

They wouldn't have a story-related reason to do THAT again, so I doubt it.
If there IS a 'third season' of Haruhi, I don't think we will be waiting quite that long for it.

Then again, if the tenth novel continues to take its time, we might be waiting for a while because of that. It's already a year behind schedule.

10/10 episode, I've raged both times watching it. The viewer feels about the same as Kyon at the end.

"We have to do this again?!"

The animation for this episode was as lovely as Kyon lacking a shirt.

And now I've gotten fangirl all over everything. Sorry about that.

Shirtless Kyon: 10/10

Koizumi being his fabulous self: 10/10

Some Haruhi fanservice being kept in: 10/10 (what?)

Also some Nagato fanservice. That was pretty good too.

I just watched the episode for the second time today.
It looks like they still haven't filled in the white space in the ending sequence.

White space? Where? I haven't noticed anything like that.
*goes to watch ED again*

Edit: Nope can't find what you are referring to. Further description/screenshot please?

Make that two years. The book was supposed to come out in 2007.
