Finally got around watching the last episode of DaL and as expected, Origami fails again. I don't know if she is fleshed out more in the novels but in the anime she is dead set on killing Efreet and faints before shooting. Are you serious?

It feels like the show left soooooo much out. They remembered who that hidden spirit was five years ago and ... never mention the name/appearance/ANYTHING. Also Kotori and Shidou randomly switch spirit powers around.

Anyway the designs are pretty nice so I'll stick around for season 2

I can't decided who the best girl was, so I'll just wait until s2.

really enjoyed the series, it was the one I was anticipating, and it didn't disappoint. the story was kind of rushed sometimes but overall it was great.

In episode 11 (dealing with the bolded part), they said the test pilot for the White Licorice (really, that's a combat aircraft name?) was vaporized after a 30 minute test flight. Origami fighting with it was a bad idea in the first place. Tohka & Yoshino's interception dictated she Origami would fail anyway.

it might have been mentioned before, and I'm not going to bother checking the thread from page 26 onwards (my last post here before this page) but is yoshinon a separate thing/person from yoshino? or is that yoshino talking through the puppet?

from that episode where yoshinon was lost and got separated, i don't think i've heard the puppet speak, but when its in her hand it's suddenly very talkative. is it a case of split personality or something?

It's just hilarious that through the whole series Origami or the AST never seem to have any impact on anything. They couldn't scratch Tohka and failed to snipe her while shooting Shido instead, got frozen by Yoshino, knocked out by Kurumi, humilated by Kotori and we still don't know why she's infatuated with Shido.

It's done a little better in the novels, where we get those scenes narrated from the AST's standpoint. It's very reminiscent of those comic book scenes where we watch a bunch of hired thugs try to shoot Superman. Except this Superman is trying to kill them.

That being said, me and my friend nearly had heart attacks laughing during the part where Shidou and Tohka sit down while the AST shoot at her force field for like half an hour.

The Anime cut it but Yoshinon is a second personality that was born of Yoshino's fear of hurting people with her powers and is her idealized self.

Contrary to Origami's wishes the AST's goal is not to kill Spirits as that is not a realistic goal, but to contain the damage they do and try to drive them away hopefully for good as they don't seem to be aware that they are not crossing over under their own will.

Big case. And I find it interesting that they put the names in Western style, with family name last. In a Japanese domestic release.

They do in order to give the impression it is really "foreign". From their perspective, "First Name, Last Name" is the consensus for western people. They don't put into romaji for sake of romaji reading whatsoever.

Yeah, I think that it's just the style this series uses since the light novels have "The author Koushi Tachibana" on the cover (Koushi being the first name, Tachibana being the last name).

Now that I think about it, this is the first time I've seen a Japanese last name consist of just one kanji character...
