Not a bad episode in my opinion. It looks like they're getting a bit more thorough on their text translations, I think they got just about everything this time.
One thing, did they previously refer to "Maou" as a "demon lord"? Because that doesn't seem appropriate now given that there's a tier of demons specifically called Demon Lords, with the English name in katakana as their species. Besides, Demon King would be a more accurate translation. On one other note, somehow the shape they gave to Arisa's mouth in that close-up was a little... odd. |

Yes, Arisa said "Satou" instead of what everyone else (including himself) call him, i.e. "Satoo".
The only other case of that happening was in EP1 when he thought about his co-worker "almost having called him Satou".

I think the popularity is probably much higher in Japan than one would expect in the West. Even without an anime adaption, the LN version manages to sell around 17.000 copies in the first week per volume and it's already in the 10s in terms of amounts of published volumes. 17.000 is a good number. It's enough to always to, in most cases, easily get into top 5 of weekly sales during the first week and it often even manages to get into the toplist in the second week as well. Again, all of that without the anime even having aired. Only the absolute apex, i.e. the likes of "Regarding Reincarnated as Slime" can beat it among isekai LNs with no anime, having around 30.000 sales in the first week. Of course it remains to be seen whether or not the anime will boost Death March volume sales. I don't think it will be another Overlord miracle though.

Easy, just too easy.
Well not that I think if this one is actually the easiest compared to other series. As of now, main characters like Mochizuki Touya and Sato here make things here too easy thanks to its powers. When I think about it now, i kind of wish things like these in episode 3 and episode 4 to be this easy. Slave issues and defeating powerful enemies that are not human. Or rather things like efforts, hardships, and pains would not have been existed. Well of course if the plot is too depressing and hopeless so that when it leads to bad ending, then it leaves many people in very bad tastes though. Re Zero was it, I haven't watched one full episode after reading its short summaries and realizing i don't have the courage to watch it. The upcoming anime episodes as of now im eagerly looking forward to are Super and Vrains because of plot. I wonder myself if it is because i watched the show since I was little? Compared to when I was little, I stopped watching the newer anime series that has too serious settings because i feel those kinds of series discourage me and scares me. No wait, maybe because Super and Vrains has lighter tone compared to others. I mean look at how Sato tried his hardest to survive in the beginning against those lizard-like creatures. The animations of bleeding and brutal felt more real after all. Last edited by rladls2121; 2018-02-01 at 21:49. |

So I see my question to the subs was already stopped but that is also why it will die a slow death-those not JPN LNG will have hard time reading all the txt and story flow. I already know about some that got licensed but failing miserably to translate all the txt like samurai sword(name might be wrong) but this series licensed missed alot of txt ruining the story-line. Also at the end of the manga series when they get out of the dungeon the girls were level 13 but the anime shows the only level 5. What gives? Oh yeah the fanservice on the outdoor bath scenes and slime attack on Zena in the manga are omitted as well. All the good parts are now gone. So I wonder how much of the manga LN they will follow now?

Why yes. You said that the show will die a slow death as those who don't understand much Japanese would have a hard time understanding all the "untranslated" text, but as I said they translated most of the content this time. As for the fanservice, yes they cut out Zena's top getting ripped (I too was disappointed) and trimmed down the girls' bath scene, but I wasn't really watching this for that anyway.

Wow, Arisa really wants Satou...even trying to use a charm skill. The logic.
I wish they found better VA for both characters. Satou's voice still sounds super blend and Arisa's voice is just too high pitched. On the other hand, it's about time Tama and Pochi got some better clothes!

Hm, interesting. So according to Alice, the reincarnated are people who died in the old world. So it's safe to say she died in the real world and was reborn in this one. It's kinda sad that her attempts to make her country wealthy using her knowledge of the real world completely backfired on her.
Satou's Poker Face skill is probably one of the best skills he has by far. Definitely top 5. |

I for one thought Aoi Yuki did fairly well with Arisa.
I was a little disappointed they didn't think they had enough time for her brief twitch of disappointment at the other girls' names. And it sounds like they're going to take a look at ramifications of trying to bring modern ideas into an ancient society. Not bad; I imagine major breakthroughs even in the normal progression had a tendency to have some huge, sometimes chaotic effects, so pushing too hard to get developments that are a little too advanced would be bad. |

Great episode, unfortunately some things were left out or replaced(?) that I don't quite understand.
They left out the part about Satou not freeing the girls from slaverly because the slave trader explained that it's more dangerous for "free" demi-humans to move around than as slaves. The explanation from Arisa that she and Lulu were not just enslaved but actually put under a "geass" that forces them to keep being slaves and them just dying if they got freed, was not mentioned either. Instead it was all just glossed over with "they feel more at ease as slaves"... what? The entire part about Arisa's and Satou's skills was omitted as well... though I hope that that was merely relocated and will be explained later. Well, at least people will (hopefully) understand now that this is not some "virtual reality" MMORPG death game story. Reincarnation wouldn't really make sense with that.
